Hey Joe...

Did you just play @ the NAMM show with Steve Vai, Steve Lukather, & Joe Bonamassa? I've heard this rumor but can't find any info out in cyberspace to support it.

If you did, what'd you think of Joe B? A possible G???

News From NAMM: (thanx to Mikey @ Vai.com)

"Joe Satriani, Joe Bonamassa and Steve Lukather played at the Guitar Player Magazine party (along with George Lynch, Mike Keneally and Lyle Workman). Steve Vai was the M.C. (he didn't play at NAMM or the party). Each artist played their own three-song set. There was no jamming."

Anyone hear anything else about this party?

Hey Joe...

What's the deal with Sony (sonymusicstore.com)? When I ordered the G3 DVD & the G3 CD from them I didn't receive them UNtil more than a week after their release. Now here I am STILL waiting for "ITLIS?", even though I pre-ordered it as soon as it was announced. I bought them thru Sony ONLY because they were including signed CD inserts, but I will not ever do that again. They have these items in stock, so why don't they mail them enough in advance so I can get them on (or before?) the release date. Tomorrow will be 1 week since they said they mailed it. This is ridiculous! I'm getting soooooo impatient to hear this CD!!! How many of your fans does Sony piss off in this way? It would really suck if anyone blamed you for this & decided not to bother with your music. Sony needs to get it's act together! Sorry for the rant...

Hey Joe...

Well... I FINALLY received my pre-ordered "ITLIS?" CD. Ordered weeks in advance & received weeks after release, now that is what I call service. SONY should be ashamed. I've never had to wait soooo long to hear one of your releases (since I always go out & buy them on there release dates. Guess that'll be the last time I order anything direct from SONY. The G3 DVD & CD came about a week after release too.

ANYWAYS... I'm on my 2nd listen through as I type this & I just have to say I LOVE what I'm hearing. Gotta feeling this one may even beat out "The Extremist" as my fav! Although the wait to hear this was driving me crazy, I have to say it was well worth it. AMAZING work (as usual)! Can't wait to fully absorb these songs!!! Keep up the Gr8 work!

Michelle: Yeah, I FINALLY got it. Have been listening to it quite a bit ever since but still have yet to wrap my brain fully around the whole thing, but I gotta say it's in my top 2-3 easily.

Do The Stu: Good review, but I don't have enough of a grip on all the songs & parts of songs yet to get very indepth. Favs so far are: Searching, Up In Flames, ITLIS?, If I Could Fly, & Souls Of Distortion. Really like all the others too, but the ones I just mentioned jump out in front for me (so far).

Hey Joe...

I don't know why you decided to go with this FanFire Premium Package BS, but I gotta tell you that this screws the average fan. Dream Theater started doing this too & I think it's just a way of screwing the average fan by reserving the best seats (most of the good seats too) for those individuals who can afford to shell out big bucks. The wife & I went to the 4/2/04 DT show & ended up with crappy seats. We can't afford those kinda prices so I tried to get "decent" seats thru TicketBastard, but ALL the decent seats were gone when tickets went on sale. You either had to accept 30+ rows back or all the way on the very end of the rows. We ended up sitting on the end 15 rows back (I bought these AS SOON AS tickets went on sale), & luckily our view wasn't obstructed in this venue, but I'm sure that is not the case in all venues. I wouldn't mind paying more for Gr8 seats, but these packages look like you are prostituting yourself at the average fan's expense. The wife & I have already been turned off of the DT roadtrips we like to do for their tours since they never play anywhere near Central New York (we already spend alot of money for gas for a 9 hour round trip, tolls, nice hotel, food, drink, and merchandise, so shelling out an additional $400+ is NOT an option). We have also enjoyed doing the same for your shows, but BS like these Premium Packages are gonna make us decide to stay away from your shows too. This is just a sellout imho. I hope you reconsider this for future tours. The best shows are those where you have Gr8 seats. Crappy seats just detract from a Gr8 show. If good seats are out of the question, then probably so will some fans attendance.

My problem with these Premium Packages has nothing to do with the backstage passes or special laminated crap or pictures with Joe (they are NOT actual photos, you will get a digital flie that YOU have to print out) or a special t-shirt. My problem is that all the good seats are reserved for these packages. I'd be MORE THAN WILLING to pay more for getting Gr8 seats. It's the addition of all of this other nonsense that is supposedly justifying the ridiculous package prices. I've met Joe 2x by waiting at the tourbus after shows. I had my picture taken with him at the bus. I've been able to talk to him at the bus. And I've been able to have him sign things for me at the bus. He has always been kind enough to do this for his fans (the last time I saw him it was raining out & he still hung around until everyone had their chance to meet him. HOW COOL IS THAT?

Get rid of all the extras & sell premium seats for a fair price & I'll be happy. But these FanFire packages are TOTAL BS!!! It just reeks of screwing the average fan.

Hey Joe...

VERY cool of you to keep the aftershow giveaways. However, as cool as it is to get the chance to meet ya, it is MUCH cooler to have Gr8 seats while watching you play. Any chance of throwing in a giveaway (or 2) of Gr8 seats? That way a couple lucky fans will be able to meet you, & a couple lucky fans will be able to see you play up-close. Given those choices I'd pick the seats EVERY time. That's the problem with all this FanFire crap, I'll end up with crappy seats & will be too far away to catch any picks, get any good pictures, & have less people in front of me blocking my view of "the Master". PLEASE DON'T MAKE THESE PACKAGES THE NORM FOR YOUR SHOWS IN THE FUTURE!

Thanx... John aka =o|-[

962: Have you heard (or seen) Joe Bonamassa play? If not, think Gary Moore, meets SRV, meets Jimi..., but still original. Just SMOKIN' hot blues/rock!!! He just came out with a new CD yesterday, "Had To Cry Today" (after the Blind Faith classic). This guy is the next "overnight" success story. Check out this CD, it's UNbelievable!!!

Webmaster...

The new addition to the packages is nice, but how about throwing in something for FANaticS who just can't afford the packages. How about doing a package give-away for each show (like you do for the aftershow giveaways)? Just a thought. Personally I'd prefer NO packages since I can't afford them & they take away all the best seats from poorer fans who do everything they can to get the best seats they can. I bought 2 tickets for the Keswick show "the minute" they went on sale (directly from the Keswick box office) & the best seats they had were 16th row on the side. Not bad seats, but come on, NOT GOOD SEATS either. I'd prefer packages that dispose of all the extra crap & just offer Gr8 seats @ an affordable price. I'd DEAFinitely spring for that.

Thanx... =o|-[
