New to this site. I have always enjoyed listening to Joe's music but have never made it to a show. Fortunately for me, my best friend lives in Phoenix and talked me into visiting him from Chicago and going to the Aerosmith/Kiss concert on October 8th. After searching Ticketmaster's web site, I saw that Joe was doing the G3 tour on the 9th so I bought tickets. I am more excited about seeing these 3 great quitarists than the other show. I am probably going to buy tickets for the Chicago date but was still debating if I should take my 12 year old son.

Rock on Joe and look forward to seeing you in Phoenix even if it's from the 33rd row.

I can't believe I actually made it through 1700 plus posts. You people here can really talk it up.

First of all, I was at the show in Phoenix and would have to say that that had to be one of the best Rock shows I have ever seen. No high-tech video screens, no fireworks, no make-up (at least that I can see :-) ). They truly rocked the house. And being that it was the first show of the tour, I wasn't expecting them to be perfect.

Only 2 problems with the show and one of those issues was addressed in an earlier post, the crowd was dull. They sat for most of the show. I had great seats smack dab in the middle right next to the sound guys and I stood and cheered quite a bit because I had no one behind me. Then again, maybe the crowd was mezmerized (spelling?) by the performances. The 2nd problem was no encore. Maybe it's a Phoenix thing because I'm from Chicago and was in town visiting my best friend and we saw Aerosmith/Kiss the night before and Aerosmith had no encore. Oh, well.

The only other post that hit me deeply came from September. After having gone down to Wrigley Field yesterday and witnessing the collapse of the Chicago Cubs, I was truly in the dumps all day. But for what, a lousy baseball team. Here is a mother who has lost her son and my heart goes out to her. I now know that my priorities have been screwed up lately and I should probably go tuck my kids in bed and give my wife a hug. Thanks for sharing your touching story with us.

Joe, my kids love the black G3 shirts I got for them from the show and they have been listening and now are bugging me to take them to the Chicago show but I have a hard time with General Admission concerts especially with kids but that's an issue for another posts.

Thanks for reading this long post.......and it's only my 2nd post.

John

It's probably been asked already but, if I have a chance to go backstage, do they allow you to bring cameras?

Artanis - The ATC in ChicagoATC is Air Traffic Controller which is what I do at Chicago's O'Hare airport. Almost as much fun as going to a Satriani concert.

Just came back from the G3 show in Chicago and the boys put together another great show. I was lucky enough to see their first show in Phoenix as well.

On the other hand, anybody else get burned by SHRED6? He won the backstage passes for the Chicago show and was looking for someone to exchange a ticket for a pass. Needless to say I was dumb enough to say I'll do it. We exchanged e-mails, I bought a ticket, exchanged more e-mails, agreed where to meet and when, drove 2 hours in lousy traffic, waited outside the theater for over an hour while hundreds of people paraded in ahead on me to the general admission show, checked with the backstage pass lady if Brad ever showed up (answer was no), waited some more and said "I'm screwed", went inside with my 12 year old son at 6:50 PM (show started at 7), got seats 5 rows from the top and never got to see Joe and the gang backstage.

Anyone need an extra ticket to the Chicago show? My son's extremely hurt and I'm out $50.

A high point for me was when my son Jim told me that no matter how long it took us to get there, no matter how long we waited and ended up with shitty seats and no matter that we didn't get to go backstage like we had originally planned, he loved the show and thanked me for taking him. Ain't kids great?

Thanks again Joe, Steve and Yngwie for a great performance again.

Joe, I'll be driving to Toronto from Chicago with my 13 year old son Jim who first saw you on the last G3 concert tour with me and he began playing the guitar right after that and hasn't put it down since. Thanks Joe for inspiring him.

Hey Joe,

I was so looking forward to taking my 15 year old son Jim to see your show in Denver that I bought the $250 premium package seating. He and I are both avid fans and thanks to you after seeing the G3 Show in Chicago the last time around, he grabbed a guitar and bass guitar and hasn't stopped playing since.

Unfortunately, I just went to the Ogden Theater's website and they are stating that it is a 21 and over only show. IS THIS TRUE!?

If at all possible, can you somehow get this changed? You are doing a disservice to all the up and coming guitar players who envy not only you, but Eric, Steve, Yngwie and others.

Thanks for listening,

John Baldyga
