Just read this month's Guitar Player article w/ Joe on the cover. Very good interview, can't wait to hear the new material. I liked how you took us thru each song.

Hey Joe,
Glad you could make it up to Portland for the guitar clinic. For sure I'll make my way down to SF for the Warfield shows... quick question, I know at one point you mentioned that you were thinking of doing a concert dvd with more obscure songs (i.e. bells of lal, etc.) than what you normally play. Just wondering if you're still considering that or not... peace

hey, I just got an email from Ticketmaster stating that the Dec. 26th show is now at the Fillmore instead of the Warfield.

Austin,
If you get a Mazda 3 or 6 I recommend getting one with a manual transmission unless you don't know how to drive it. I've heard in the past that the Mazda 6's in particular tend to lack some low-end torque. Are you getting the 2.3L or the 3.0L? I've never driven one though so I'm not entirely familiar. I will tell you overall I've been pleased with my Subaru WRX. Anyway, just my .02

Narface: I will have plenty of photos/video of the JGTC if you wish to see them when I return. I will post my emali address at that time and we can see about hooking you up.
Cheese101: The Fillmore has seating on the Stage Left side of the venue which is near the bar (on the 1st floor). The only place with seating where you won't have an obstructed view is on the 2nd floor if I remember right. The main floor doesn't have chairs and is General Admission. I HIGHLY suggest getting there early as the very front of the venue will fill up quickly. I usually like to hang more towards the back myself but that's only cause I want a better mix. Hehe, I didn't notice that Austin posted until after I finished. Anyway, it's what he said... =)

I was at the Minneapolis G3 show w/ Eric Johnson, Joe and Steve along with the LISF show but not in the DVDs. I am on the webpage with Joe in two seperate places though. The first spot is from the EOC show at the Warfield in 2000. The second spot is on SBM at the Fillmore with MegaBoyd in 2003. Check the Road Archives for more details. I'm not attending Monday at this point as I will need to head back to Portland for work on Tuesday but I'm sure you'll have fun at both. If it's not too much, show up an hr. or two early before the show unless you know someone who can hold a place for you in line. I'm staying at the Fillmore Center with my friend so it's a 1/2 block to the venue for me.

I saw one of your earlier posts but have been "away" up till now. I probably did see you at the Dec. 26th show, I just didn't recognize ya. I was standing next to MegaBoyd probably 5 ft. from the stage, too bad those guys next to us smoking weed aggreviated my cold. Glad to hear your trip to SF went well. Couldn't believe how much rain there was, when I got back to Portland it was sunny (abeit cold).

for those who have heard "Yai Yai" off of Vai's Real Illusion's upcoming CD... I think of some sort of deranged Lucky Charms leprachaun... anyone wish to expound on this?

Hey Joe,
Vegas rocked! Considering how bad my last two weeks were, thanks for ending it on a good note (then again they're all good notes.. aren't they?) See you in Portland... :)

you're close on the Vegas setlist. The first song was Up In The Sky. Circles and Ceremony were never played, instead it was Lords Of Karma. See ya all at the Portland show...

my friend worked the Vai concert this past weekend. He said that Steve alone played 3 hrs. That's not counting Eric as the opener. Sounds like it'll be another good show...
