Yo Joe, I noticed in your recent set of pics you got a black JS axe with some cool looking creatures drawn on it, really cool, I know your a bit of a visual artiste and wanted to know if you did that yourself man, looks cool, I am re-painting an Ibanez right now and look to some of your work and or the work on your guitar, like the Donnies and the planet waves straps and stuff for inspirations....later dude1

That CP song was a complete rip off of If I Could Fly, the tune is just way to close to Satchs, thats copyright infringement for sure, intentional or not! Imagine the Coldplay version as a midi ringtone on a cellphone without vocals and it would sound identical to If I Could Fly! I have a feeling the more successful bands and Coldplay is one of them with their tune topping charts and downloads, steal from the smaller musicians more than we know-I think that is what this is about, its not fair that musicians trying to start in the business get ripped off, if I wrote a song and sent it off to a record label and a year later hear a major band making profit off a simlar sounding song, I might get suspicious, especiallly if the song went to #1 on the charts while I was still trying to get my foot in the door, way to go Strange Beautiful Music, Satch etc........ Its important to stand up for your rights, right on!

Good luck Joe with the Coldplay issue,I not only side with you but believe they ripped you, when I listn to the Coldplay version I dont hear alot of guitar or piano mostly strings and vocals...when watching live clips of Coldplay there tends to be an absence of those string sections and shady keyboard playing to overshadow it.bottom line Coldplay is a wee bit shady and Satriani is one of the greatest songwriters/musicians alive.I understand alot of songs sound the same but these songs have a deeper connection..with all the artificial music going on with Coldplays live performance I would chance saying they actually ripped parts right from your record.or maybe they re-recorded but theres a strangeness going on here, and I know Satch would know best.I would know if someone else was using my original heart and soul music.also there is a video of Coldplay doing Viva La Vida Im not sure how many videos of this jam they have but they use the exact same inverted greenish Purple colors throughout the entire video that you did on the covers and interior of Is There Love In Space at times the guitarist for them could have been you buried in the shadows.with the absence of any actual playing going on...well for someone who has not influenced them Satch.it sure looks like you rubbed of on them.play on!
