GUESS THOSE SONGS

For the first one, guess the title and artist as usual...

"if i cut off your arms and cut off you legs would you still love me anyway? if you're bound and gagged, draped and displayed would you still love me anyway? why don't you love me anyway? why don't you love me anyway? (2x) cutting with a knife, blood is spilling everywhere she will be my wife secondary spine, incisions must be accurate i know just what to do my hands are trembling i can't spare to slip up with this knife her beauty so illogical the beast come gliding in hideous chameleon she's stripped down to her skin dance to the burning flame pleasure exhumes the pain the night bursts into flame dance helena, dance if i cut off your arms and i cut off your legs would you still love me anyway? there's a spot on the floor where your limbs used to be and i close the door on my fantasies why don't you love me anyway? why don't you love me anyway? why don't you love me anyway? why don't you love me anyway? helena!"

For this one, just guess the title...its kinda easy...

"first things first, ms. monroe rises from the dead the henchmen came knocked down the door to my never world i hope you die die monster die die monster die die monster die first things first, we must find out which mirror evil lives i enter this door look into the mirrors i don't recognize this face that's lookin' back at me die die monster die die monster die die monster die there's a place where the mirrors don't lie (3x) i hope you die die monster die die monster die die monster die there's a place where the mirrors don't lie (3x) die monster die"

Happy Guessing Everyone lol

Brother Al Excellent news man =)

I'm veeeeeery nearly done with writing my follow up track to "Rain?"...just give it a week or two when I have some money and I'll buy another adapter to plug my guitar into my pc's line-in...thing...port...yeah =)

The hip-hop style beat thing I made called "Attempt #1" is going to have a rap written to it by one of my friends...I never thought it would be used...but oh well, I can't wait to hear it.

He's yet another guy who wants to write an album over the summer, so far that includes me, a friend who I believe is going to be a big hip-hop producer in the future, one of my best friends is making loads of comedy mix type things lol, and then their my other friend who is writing the rap...aren't we all young go-getters lol...

Take Care Everyone

Clarky I can't disagree with that.

Do The Stu LMAO yup, don't tempt fate..=)

For any Euro fans that didn't know, Vai is going to be touring in 2005, most likely Summer-ish time promoting his new album.

So keep an eye out at your local venue/arena for news of ticket sales (even though that won't be a long time yet.)

Take care everyone

Whats more important...learning songs by other people or writing your own music after learning techniques used by people whose songs you would learn if you felt motivated to do so?

(or are they just as important as each other?)

Its just a little dilemma I'm going through right now I'm wondering if I should learn a song written by someone else before writing any more of my own music (seeing as I don't know any songs all the way through by arists I actually like aka Satch, Vai, Buckethead, Yngwie, Dream Theater...etc..)

Do The Stu I've attempted a few Satch songs, like "Ceremony" and "Circles"...but I play a telecaster and they only have 21-frets so I feel somewhat restricted (one of the reasons I'm buying a 24fret guitar when I get some money)...my other reason is, to learn a song I have to really really like it...and when that happens the song seems so complex to me lol...

The Vai song I want to learn (but I don't think I'm good enough quite just yet) is "Get The Hell Outta' Here"...although I can't find a tab for it...(and if I'm not quite good enough to play it yet, Im sure as hell not good enough to tab it myself =) lol)

One song (or atleast parts of it) I've re-started learning is "Acid Rain" by Liquid Tension Experiment...and on a less concentrated level I've been learning "Paradigm Shift"...(but am restricted once again by having 21-frets).

Thats pretty much my reason, I guess...

Do The Stu Ah ok thanks, becoming lazy is one of the things I fear most in playing the guitar.

(yet I got up at 5pm yesterday) =P

962 Ah, thats a good idea, thanx man =)

Today I got up and had this conversation...

Me: Awwww whats that smell?
Mom: Vinegar.
Me: What? Why?
Mom: It helps clean windows.
Me: So does window cleaner and it doesn't make the house smell like a chip shop....
Mom: Ah but we haven't got any.
Me:...oh...you plannin' on cleaning my windows?
Mom: Yeah...
Me:...Want me to go get you some window cleaner?
Mom: No its alright I'll use vinegar.
Me: Oh but I insist.
Mom: I'll be fine with vinegar.

I offered to get some nice lemon scented stuff...but nooooo lol....needless to say I'm not looking forward to when my windows are clean.

*Prays for a live Liquid Tension Experiment DVD...oh and Adrian on his wedding day woop!*

Brother Al LMAO maaan that sucks, my friends parents went away for the week and they left him £27 (why not £30 i'll never know) for food and so on...he spent it in the first day on pepperami's and microwave-able ham burgers lol....

Any tips on using a metronome...I can't seem to be able to tell if my timing is right or not with it lol.

I'm at 120bpm, and at the moment playing 1 note per beat, I know I can go faster...a lot faster, just can't seem to hear whether I am in time or not lol.

Fact Of The Day: Cucumbers contain a chemical that trigger the "Happy hormone" in your body...so if you feel like killing a hole genre of music (the blues) feed everyone cucumbers (not recommended though...cause if you do I'll kick your ass...and I am fat and can throw my weight around if needed)

Do The Stu After taking a long ass break from learning "Circles"...I thought about what you said (or maybe it was someone else) about how learning someone elses songs is benificial because its getting your fingers to do things that they are not used to doing, and I can finally do the part of the solo I found the hardest...its wierd how if I leave off playing my guitar for a while I can do things I found difficult before, with ease.

962 LMAO yeah I hear ya' on the cars...my dad got a Mercedes as a company car once to go to Leeds in and my mom was like:

Mom: "ooooooooh that nice, we should get one of them"
Dad: "Ok..you give me £15k and we'll get one"
Mom: "Really?"
Dad: "No...I'm too fat for this car, your to fat for this car, the god damn dogs to fat for this car...I wish I had my Range Rover back...."

I'm using a metronome on my computer called "Wierd Metronome" it can be programmed to use all kinds of different drum equipment for the beats to add emphasis and stuff.

I would truly appreciate some excercises I feel I've slipped into (and am slowly slipping out of) a "muscle memory" phase...but since I've been writing my own music I've been concentrating on placement of notes, and timing and so on...its been quite rewarding so far.

Master Yoda Man I can't wait to hear your first 7-string piece, I'm sure its gonna' be awesome =)

I'm still writing my song...I'd say its a lot harder to write the guitar parts after writing the drums first, do you find this?

Master Yoda Ah I see, I found the 'chorus' part of my song quite easy to write, it just sort of flows with the drums...the verses...now they were a challenge (and I haven't completed them). At the moment I'm playing around with timing and the arrangement, but I know when I get my line-in adapter I'm re-recording it, for sure. (PC mic quality just doesn't sound 100% to me, and if it doesn't sound 100% to me, then whats the point in letting other people hear it....well thats my opinion anywayz, guess I'm just a perfectionist).

I really can't wait to hear your new piece, I'm really into what other people are doing at the moment, it always inspires me to pick up my guitar and try to write something of my own.

Thats the best set up I've had for recording so far...but I me line-in adapter died...and that was kinda the key element...so now it goes

guitar----->amp........PC Mic------>Line-in socket on PC

lol, I use Reason 2.5 to sequence everything, and I use Cool Edit Pro 2 to record....

Anywayz I had an idea about putting a cheeky little "Recommended Listening" list at the bottom of the essay for my narrow minded media studies teachers to take a little look at...
