Steven Wilde Hey man, I'm good thanks for asking. I've got a load of work to do for monday lol...my ICT website about Buckethead has to be 30 pages long...now I've got 43 pages planned and about 10 made as I have been going over my documentation a lot to make sure it covers everything. The whole website plus documentation has to be done before March the first so that leaves me about 11 days to complete the entire unit, which I am confident I can accomplish. I have media coursework stating how the family in family guy represents the American dream etc...which is going to be tough for me to do. Not to mention a load of english work that seems to just be busy work as usual in between exams. I've decided also to get back into my 3D design stuff some more as I havent touched it in ages and I feel I may have gone down hill on it but ah well...guitarring has filled that void for months and I feel its really paid off.
Anywayz, how are you doing?

I got started on a new track...now actually (1:37am)...it's sounding pretty cheerful which is a first for my stuff as it is usually in minor keys lol.
I'm hoping to make a small collection of new tracks for a short album which I will give to one of my friends as a present for getting me into computer recording etc...plus he provided me with some noice recording software after his brother bought the newest version of it...I got the hand-me-downs but who cares it rocks :-)
Kinda' little way of saying thanks.
962 I really need that DVD now...Viking Kong is my favourite Racer X instrumental track...I have never seen "Guitar Wars" about though :-(

748 words out of 3000 for my Media work...its going to be a long day, but when its over I will be glad.
Then I have a 1500 word commentary to do for English, a cartoon transformation of a depressing Welsh script for English, a 30 page Buckethead website for ICT (plus documentation) and work on my new track lol...

Phrydom I accidentally screwed that idea up...but it wasn't all my fault, I blame spray-mount to be honest if it didnt do what it did to my lovely coat o' green the guitar would've been finished by now.
But anywayz I'm summarising some new ideas for that guitar and hopefully something will be done before i go to University.
how have you been man?
When do we find out the final set of tracks to be held on the T2J2 cd? :-)

Ibanez Guitarist I have similar things happen all the time. I got asked what music I was listening to by a guy whose been playing guitar longer than me, I said "Joe Satriani, Racer X, TooL" and he said "Oh...so your one of these new shredders?"...like I was a piece of office equipment or something.
Anywayz a few days later I found out he had been bad-mouthing me behind my back saying I can't play...yet he has never seen me play (still true and he still speaks shit about me). Most of the other guitarists in the college look at me as if they just trod in me, they have been playing a few years longer than me and I have heard them discussing before how they think people pick up the guitar because its a phase.
There's two kinds of guitarists (in my experience) theres the guys that sit around playing with a glazed over look on their face, completely in a world of their own, who help other guitarists when they are stuck etc...and then there are those who have their heads so far up there asses they can lick the backs of their nipples. Unfortunately the second kind is more predominant.
Persist through all that bollox and ignore them, its upto the listener who they like. Plus, if he is going round saying that every band he hears is shite, when they play perfect sets and he fucks up it will be more noticeable. People will expect more from him than he can achieve as he is so arrogant. Just let what he says fly and prove him wrong. :-)

OCPS470 I dunno about the jealousy thing but otherwise yeah I agree 100%, its not a competition its an interest. I've gone at my own pace learning as I've taught myself luckily there are some musicians in my school who aren't self-absorbed and think they are better than everyone else, so I just mingle with those guys who are actually really cool anywayz.
1 minute till I have to leave for college and its snowing...

Will Smith came to Birmingham today...whoop...I missed my last lesson in school to 'go see him'...as in go to the guitar store and look for PGM guitars to play lol.
And, then went to subways and got me a meatball sub :-)

I am so ill today...this is the worst kind of ill I have ever been. I keep throwing up and such and most of the time its bile...which doesnt taste good.

Thanks guys for your well wishes. I am feeling kinda' better atleast the nasty stomach activities have stopped to some extent I can hear my stomach making nasty bubblin' noises.
I'm still weak as hell though and this is the longest I have been out of bed since I came from college during first period.
Ah well I'm sure I'll be better over the weekend.

Hmm my friend just told me that he read somewhere that Tom Morello has been heard saying that in the new Audioslave album he may be shredding...
I dunno' how to feel about that. I know he'll be good at it and not go overboard but I'm used to hearing Morello's FXey, bubbly, wonderfully layered solos so I hope he does those solos as well, they are so cool.
Anyone else a fan of Audioslave or RATM?

Stevee T I really like the idea of learning songs, one of the main reasons I started playing the guitar but I don't seem to be able to stick to any lately and just get on with it and learn all the lead parts.
Its not that I give up on them when I get to a difficult part, I just put off practicing them for a while...which in essence is kinda' the same thing.

Stevee T I usually practice for about 3-4 hours each day on a weekday and about 8 hours saturdays and sundays but recently I've been overwhelmed with coursework for college so its been an hour here and there.
I think I know what you mean about if I had to play them live I'd put myself under pressure to learn them thoroughly and so on. I want to be able to learn them for the sake of it lol.
I enjoy writing my own stuff a lot of the time but I lack the dedication recently.
Steven Wilde hey man sorry its took me a long time to reply been out a bit this weekend. The buckethead site is coming along nicely, hopefully its finished in time for me to move onto the next aspect of the unit, other than that, I've been ill and having to cope with that media coursework still as well as a bitchy english teacher lol. how you doing man?

The studies are going through a rough period, it seems like in every lesson they have given us coursework and it all has to be done by a certain date so its hectic organising the time to do stuff.
Once I'm through this crazy period I'll be re-making my website and re-posting all my 3D work so you'll have the opportunity to take a peek :-)

I am so f'cking pissed off right now...I am no way getting enough time to practice my guitar...I've had coursework for so long now I can't remember what free time was like.
I'm at the stage where I need to practice, I want to learn songs more than anything else and I'm not getting the bastard time anymore.
I'ts very frustrating and I am the most pissed off I have ever been...I keep gettin pissed off over really little things like the past 2 days Ive been trying to watch some films for Media, I was interrupted a record 11 times when watching Scarface...11 f'cking times!!!! Then today I was watching Baseketball and was disturbed and then I watched Snatch...and was disturbed numerous times.
I need a whole unit of ICT in by next friday, ive got coursework for media to write 3000 word essays, ive got english coursework to write a 2500 word essay and I'm losing out on doing the things I love doing, like guitarring and gaming.
sorry...needed to vent this.
And to whoever said this forum layout was crap...this forum is unique, it has people who aren't assholes on here. Other forums where you have sections and shite like that makes people pedantic over whether your post is relevant or not, it makes people restricted in what they say. Here people can express themselves and talk about whatever. I hope you stay, you'll get used to the layout as we all have, other forums should change if anything.
