Clarky & Tastey all your talk of donut holes made me remember a joke my friends dad told me and my friend ages ago...

How do you make a net?

Get a load of holes and tie string around them

Thanks for the support over my pissed off rant yesterday...

The time has come for me to stop being an ass and to get lessons...my playing is going no where and I really need improvement in so many areas...

I feel like I've failed at teaching myself and I feel I've got myself into some bad habits by teaching myself.

so down...

Michelle I've had an experience like that, my sister got home after going out with a few of her friends one of whom I've known for 12 years and I knew was drunk...so I phoned him up...he answered but for some reason put his phone down while it was answered, I could hear him talking to his brother saying "can you hear something?" so I started shouting "Jim, look down....I'm down here by the skirting board..." I could hear him shuffling around and he said "i can't see you, are you a mouse?"....I couldn't stop laughing at that point...seriously, "are you a mouse"?!....lmao buffoon...

I'll respond to more posts later....but for now..."Mc Hammer Backbeat" its showertime!!!

I just bought "The Thesaurus of Scales and Melodic Patters" by Nicolas Slonimsky, it got good reviews, its also quite old...1975 methinks. I went to buy it today at Waterstones...they didn't have it but for £35 they could order it for me. The words "Ha! No..." came out of my mouth.

I just got it for £12.71...off the Waterstones website.

Also I went into a shop me and my friends always go into called "Forbidden Planet" its full of all kinds of wierd stuff from cult tv shows, films etc...I noticed an 8inch plastic ginger monkey in the window...naturally I asked how much it was...£34.99!!!...

I got my friend a serious birthday present as well (after buying him the Nutty professor soundtrack for £3.97 :-P), I'm a fan of the rapper Ludacris as is my friend so I found the discontinued first album after looking for it for myself for months and bought it for him.

962 & Steven Wide hopefully by purchasing the aforementioned book I will be able to improve some more with some abstract and obscure scales and stuff to incorporate into my moosics.

Have you heard the song "Cliffs of dover" by Eric Johnson on "Ah via musicom"?

its such a feel-good tune. :-)

Possibly going to book a guitar lesson on Tuesday...after all, all the greats had teachers ('scept Yngwie...who still rocks an explosive amount of ass)...so I'll give them a try and hopefully I'll be on the road to success :-)

STRONG LANGUAGE WILL BE PRESENT IN THIS POST OUT OF SHEER-UNADULTERATED-100% CONCENTRATED FURY

Lancashire university can kiss my fucking ass. They fucked up my application ages ago and now I am paying for it.

I phoned them two weeks in advance saying I wouldnt be able to make the interview they had given me, they said it was fine and that they would re-schedule it for whenever is good for me. However, a week after the original interview was planned they send me a letter saying my application had been withdrawn due to me not attending the interview I had told them I wouldn't be going to!...

I phoned them back up and they said "oh, sorry we'll make another one and tell the head of administrations"...a month later...fuck all has happened. I phone them 3 more times during February before they actually do something. They then tell me I need a portfolio to do the course...a fact not specified on their website or in their prospectus...or the original interview letter they sent me (which I was then told it was mentioned in, which I then read down the phone to the head of administrations to prove her wrong)

They told me to contact the teacher of the course as he may decide to allow me onto it without a portfolio...so I said "ok, whats his number"...they gave me 5 different numbers all going to the same fucking answer machine.

That was last friday...nearly a week later I am still getting excuses "oh he's just popped out", "he's not in today", "he's got your number and I've e-maield him, you should here from him later on today or tomorrow."...should I bollocks...this is the most disorganised institution I have ever been in contact with.

I've just phoned them now and withdrawn my application, when they asked 'why?' I think I made them wish they hadnt asked that question at all.

With something as high-priority as undergraduates and applications that will be processed in a few months you would've fuckin though that with a tiny drop of common sense they would handled the situation without complete incompetence, giving prospective students the correct information before they applied to courses as well as taking into consideration that most applicants are at college on weekdays when they decided to schedule ALL of my three interviews with them that I had to change, and eventually had one booked for when I asked...on a weekend.

Thank fuck they weren't my first choice University, whereas with my first choice (Staffordshire University) they don't dick-around with applications, they get it right first time and have not let me down once as of yet.

So out of the 6 universities I originally applied for:

1 application was fully successful

1 application was successful but I was forced to change course because of a fuckin' art portfolio which I lack.

3 had to be withdrawn because of an art portfolio (and the lack of having one).

and finally

1 was withdrawn out of an insight into how disorganised and to describe in a word, "SHITE" the university actually was.

RANT OVER

So is everyone cool?

Big Bunny yeah hopefully I will be able to get the grades needed to go Staffordshire :-)

I got one of my friends to test "you silly fat bastard" on my soundclick site and he said that if you click

hi-fi then it plays ok...is that what you were trying before?

Something one of my friends said really made me laugh today, our form tutor was telling us about after school activities and that attendance was optional, my friend said:

Friend: They're optional? Well in that case I choose to go home.

Tutor: And how are you going to fill the time?

Friend: I'm going to masterbate vigorously.

Brilliance in a can :-)

Steven Wilde Thanks for the words of encouragement and thanks a bazillion for letting me have the chance to get onto your CD...I'll probably come up with a nice acoustic track for ya' when I get the time, is there a deadline?

Today started as a good day, it had many funny moments and we even watched "The Blob" in Media.

I went into town as I promised I would and got my friends some presents for their birthdays which are right around the corner. I also treated myself to an Aphex Twin album, not my usual style of music but I'm listening to it now and it sounds awesome.

I got back to college just before my 2nd lesson began and was told that we could get our results early. So I did, now I'm absolutely gutted, I feel stupid.

I got an 'E' in media...that is so much worse than I ever expected, no one else in the class did much better either but I was expecting so much better seeing as I got a high 'B' last year.

And in English I got a 'D'...Just when I needed reassurance that I was on the right track because of all the pressure surrounding ICT now I go and fuck this up.

I guess I'll have to resit them in the summer and prepare for them a shit load better than I did in January.

This is my own fault, even though my media teacher tried to blame the exam paper...

Better luck next time eh?

Silent_Shady The PGM was the best by far my friend, the neck was like nothing else.

VFRrocker I totally hear you on that, its all upto motivation if you want to get promotion and better pay etc...people who expect to get that straight away are fools, they need to prove themselves and then stay consistant in their quality of work. To get into the line of work I want to work in, you can't just hand them over a sheet of paper saying you have a degree in whatever...it doesn't work like that at all nowadays. Most of the time it will be portfolio based and you have to have one hell of a portfolio to get where you wanna' be. No one is going to do it for them, they have to do this shit in their own time and of their own accord.

Thanks for the words of wisdom though, I very much appreciate it, I will definitly look out for the bullshit that may be emplored onto me if I ever get to University.

Big Bunny sorry I have no idea, I'll sort something out before long though and hopefully that will work for you :-)

"Don't sweat the Univ. Just graduate!!

Today University seems so far away and my confidence in in my ability to be able to get there has slipped.

Those exams I failed I thought were easy...I hate it when that happens and now I dont know where to turn for re-assurance that I'm on the right track.

VFRrocker Well boobs are multi-purpose...and that is one of many of their purposes. I feel a bit better now.

Bright side #1: My mark wasnt the worst in the class

Bright side #2: Everyone elses marks were similar to mine.

Bright side #3: If I do mess the real thing up I can be put on a HND course at the university until they feel I am at the level required to do my desired course....sort of a little added-step.

Al you rock
