Joe, Can you please set some tour dates for Australia... possibly Melbourne? I'm in awe of your style and tired of all the brain- dead kids in my school raving on about how Blink 182 is cool, and some idiot on a local radio station called them the greatest band in the world,(they don't even compare to you,) what with their single note solos and fart-sound like riffs. I totally agree with you on how guitarists in popular bands these days are getting slack. I'm also doing a biography on you for a school project now... i'm planning to buy G3-live in Denver, and stun them with The Extremist, which is the insanest song i've ever seen, (in a good way of course) The only thing that put me off on that DVD was Yngwie Malmsteen smashing up that Strat. Before i saw you play guitar with a Ibanez Js I was thinking about buying a Strat, (influenced by Eric Johnson and Hendrix) but seeing The Extremist performed live on the G3 internet site, I'd rather play a more ripping sound like you. I also am going to try to audition to perform one of your songs for House Music in our School, which is held in a international concert hall. Please come and tour Australia, I promise you won't have to come and play on a huge monolith in the middle of knowhere. Daniel, Down Under.

How would u feel if u had the chance to go to a Satriani concert that u had been waiting for your whole life? And then how would u feel if u couldnt go because of some shitty age restrictions that are imposed at basically the only venue in Australia? And how would you feel if the same thing happened with Steve Vai? Jus coz i'm sum 14 year old obsessive guitarist who idolises satch, who probably won't ever tour australia again... (only nobodys like greenday ever do,) As i quote Satch - guitarists who got lazy... THEN whos lazy now... Probably me all i do is play guitar all day. Dont worry ill still buy your tickets satch, just like i did vai's, and then i will try to hide behind my dads back. so if u see sum dejected kid outside the Melbourne gig in Australia... Say Hello... and if anyone wants to make me feel like im listening to greenday or some punk scum tell me how awesome the concert was when its all finished.

I cant believe it i think im going to Satch's concert even though its for over 18s, (nightclub setting,) in melbourne. I am so stoked. I sent an e-mail to the box office and the person sent an e-mail back: "If you would like to call me on the number below, or get your dad to call me, I would be happy to explain our age policy and see if we can work something out for you to attend." And she might be talking it over with my dad right now... Oh My God i cant believe it. Yes now for Satch Boogie. HALLEJUAH. I missed out on Vai same time last year taken back right at the door by big bouncers coz it was over 18's as well. And i sent a massive e-mail to the place and it didn't send and got deleted so i tried again!!!!! YES YES YES YES i am so ecstatic.

This was my e-mail...
Hi,
I'm a 14 year old guitarist who idolises Joe Satriani, (playing at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne,) and i was over the moon when i heard that Satriani would tour Australia, because instrumental guitarists of the like rarely tour places so far out of the way when they can easily tour the main bulk of their fans in the Northern Hemi-Sphere. But then I found out about your age restrictions, and i am hopeful that you can please, please make some kind of an exception for me and my dad, as i also missed out on another rock icon: Steve Vai last year because of the same age restrictions and i am so cut up. I know its because of the drinking in the place and the nightclub setting... But if there is any exception you could make, even if it meant locking us in a barred room where we could only see the top of satchs head, i would really, really appreciate it. I also have friends who would really like to go as well. So thanks for any exception you could make.
Thanks so much for anything,
Daniel

AussieRgMan You rock. U have had it so hard. Good thing Joe came down to Oz just about then eh? Must Be "Fate"? No excuse not to write very opinionated songs now eh?Anyway I onlygot into the gig in forum coz i sent e-mails about me bein underage and missin out on vai as well and how my head would be screwed up if i didnt see joe... ha.
Went to the frankston guitar fest today... out of this world. I played snake's, (writer 4 aussie guitar mag,) $18,000 esp :). And he stayed and chatted to me about guitar teachers in Melbourne, (because mine is more tommy emmanuel orientated, but thats not a bad thing but i wanna extend myself from that,) work experience i could do in music journalism ::):):):):):), and upgrading Dimarzio IBZ'S on my Ibanez Rg2570 from allans, and he signed my white SATRIANI t-shirt i bought from the concert.

Those guys in allans so understate u joe, they are the biggest punk listeners,(only insult i can think of that is appropriate for this,) they say guitars know joe as best for teaching Larry LaLonde, Kirk Hammet and Metallica. Well that is a load of shit. [b]THEIR E-MAIL SHOULD HAVE SAID: "IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD OF JOE SATRIANI... WELL YOU HAVEN'T HEARD MUCH." I wish i could have met you joe.............. ok anyway th concert was out of this world but i really wanted you to play one big rush coz that song kicks anybodys arse.
What do u think?
