Hi everyone....I also want to know what's up with the December 27th show at the Warfield..we were planning on going to both nights and now it's not listed??? Austin, do you know what's going on? Cuz I know you were going to both shows also. New to post, but have been loving reading what everyone has to say...my son and I are confirmed "Satchaholics"... he's 16 and I'm 45 and we like the same music!!! That could be really wierd, except that the music is Joe's, so of course we both like it! Saw him in Reno Sept 2nd and haven't come back to earth yet...he inspires my son to play guitar...got to meet him by accident, or fate.....and he was so nice and warm and friendly..looking foward to platinum tickets for the December show! And would go gold at least for the second night! Hope the show is still on!

Thanks Austin for the reply. I guess you could say we are anxious to see Joe! And would love to see him many, many times, but if all we can do is the one night, we'll take it!! I am familiar with the Chicago schedule, as I've been reading posts on this site since late August. We'll just have to cross our fingers the first night is a sell-out so they open up the second night, if it's possible to fit into Joe's schedule! From all the show reviews so far, this should be an incredible concert, well worth traveling for! It would be cool if Joe and the guys would come more north too, like Portland and Seattle...we'd be there too!

Gonna try this posting thing again, since the last one didn't go through. evzevz, very cool music, I just listened to the selections on your web site. Did you write the music, play all the instruments on the tracks, mix it yourself??? And how long have you been playing guitar? You are quite talented! Congratulations on what you've accomplished so far, and here's hoping you keep going!

Do The Stu

Hi Austin, yes, been reading posts since August, after we bought tickets to our first live Joe concert with Deep Purple and Thin Lizzy. Guess I was just too shy to post before!! But have enjoyed reading what everyone has to say! It's quite a fun group in here!

We hope for the second night in San Fran as well..are you going to do the meet and greet for the 26th? If so, we'll see you there as I'm springing for the platinum tickets as a Christmas present for my son and myself! We're so excited, we're walking around with big grins on our faces!! It may only be our second concert with Joe, but definitely won't be the last! Whenever we can, we'll be there!

Joe has inspired my son to shoot for the stars with his guitar playing...he wants to go to Musician's Institute after high school, and that goal has made all the difference in his life. Just having Joe take a moment to stop and take a picture with my son in Reno has really been magical for him, he feels so positive about his future as a guitarist!

Joe: thanks for everything: your music, your sharing, your emotions that come through so clearly in your music, and your kindness to your fans. You are quite unique, and make the world a brighter place for many people! As a parent, I especially appreciate the values you communicate. Even though we don't know you personally, we have come to recognize that you value your family most highly, your friends, and your capability to express yourself with your incredible music. I don't worry about your influence on my son because you and your band are not about drugs or alcohol, and he very much looks up to you for that, along with of course a huge appreciation for your music! I know we aren't alone in saying, you have us as fans for life! I hope you continue to love what you're doing forever, and will always share with us!

GrooveMaster and Do The Stu:

I don't know if this will help or not, but I've been able to place an order with Amazon for Joe's newest tab book, Is There Love In Space. It was supposed to come out Nov 1st originally, but they've now let me know it is backordered till December 15th. But if you want, you can at least pre-order it, and then cancel if you find it somewhere else quicker! My son is looking forward so much to getting that book!!!

Suzie2000 It was interesting to me to hear that you teach special students and are currently working with a class of autistic boys. That takes a very special person, so you must be one! Being any kind of teacher takes a lot of patience, dedication and a love of kids, and in this day and age, it's getting harder and harder to educate around what happens to them in their real life.

I have an elementary education degree and have worked with pre-schoolers through 8th grade. It was exhausting work but so rewarding. I'm currently a social worker now, helping the elderly and disabled to continue living in their own homes as long as possible.

I also have an autistic son, he was recently diagnosed with Asperger's Autism, and the challenges in working with him have been huge. I so respect and admire what you are doing, as I have some idea of what you face each day. With my son's diagnosis this year (he's 16, so it's been a long time coming) I finally have some answers and have learned so much about better ways of dealing with him. That's not to say I don't have a lot of grey hairs, dyed of course!!

He started playing guitar in Jan 2002 and hasn't ever stopped. He's very good and is dedicated to making music his life. Playing the guitar transports him to a place he can relax, enjoy and get lost in the emotion of music. It calms him down as nothing else can when he's upset. He is so inspired by Satch, as many people are.

So please don't discount what you do in your professional life, as you are really an "angel" to those kids and their families. And it's also really cool that you play guitar too.... wanna come to Klamath Falls to be my son's teacher and mentor? ;) Rock on!

Hey Suzie2000!!

Yep, I have read "The Curious Incident of the Dog in The Nightime". It was a very good book and gave me more insight into my son. I have also read "The Explosive Child" and it too helps. I find I have to figure out ways to head off my son's "melt downs" and that has been most successful in dealing with him. Learning more and more all the time, so life around here is much better than it used to be! Thanks for the suggestion, I highly recommend those two books for anyone dealing with an autistic child!

Suzie2000:

The author of the Explosive Child is Ross W. Greene, Ph.D. When I bought it I had to have my local bookstore order it. It's good!

Jazzzzzzzy: I don't see anywhere what you thought of your second EWJ concert? Bet it was really good??

Suzie2000........

OH MY GOSH??? Do I like Satch? Heck yes!!! Love him! Love his music. We have all the DVD's, CD's, tab books, other stuff, t-shirts, etc!! He is totally awesome!

I have to confess, I had become something of an old fart in my music choices, mainly listening to country with some classical, but since my son started guitar I've come to appreciate jazz, blues and now rock again! Liked rock when I was a teenager, but slowly got away from it. I'm so glad my son discovered Satch, as his music has totally brightened our lives in many ways!!!

We are traveling to San Fran Dec 26th just to see Joe, and are really hoping they open up the second night of music, so everybody needs to buy tickets and sell out the first night! And if he comes anywhere near Oregon, Washington, Nevada and most of California, we'll be there! We may be newer Satch fans, but he'll never lose us!

Suzie2000, no problem, you don't have to be sorry, I'm just an enthusiastic Joe fan! As I think most everyone here is! I think I've picked up that you may live overseas? It's way cool to be able to talk to people from all over the world, or read their posts. Maybe the world would be better if we all spent time communicating like this and getting to know each other.

TheBob: don't despair, I'm still hopeful that Joe will come north, so we just have to keep our fingers crossed. And Ken the Fireman from this site said once upon a time that Joe loves to play Portland, so maybe he will remember his northwest fans soon!!

Susie2000 and michelle:

Thanks for the posts. We are doing well, just had an iep meeting with the school to check in on my son's progress. He had been failing in school until we got the diagnosis and put him on an iep, now he has an educational assistant part of the day, but even then, last year was still rough for him.

This year however, being so inspired by Joe, he found out about Musician's Institute in Hollywood, CA and is so fired up about going there and making music his life. It helped that he heard that Joe occassionally drops by the Institute!! Along with other artists. He is now getting better grades than ever before, plus we have him on the right track with medications, counseling and some behavior modification for both of us! I have had to learn when to push and when to back off, and how to deflect the explosions. Plus he is pretty inflexible, so that makes life even more interesting.

michelle, I can really feel for your friend. I too am a single parent and we have struggled for many, many years to figure out what was going on with my son. I hope she doesn't give up, even though she may feel like it sometimes, because the answers are out there if they can just find the right person to help them. My son ended up being arrested and put in the juvenile detention center for a couple weeks, and though it was the worst time of our lives, it also brought very good things, a diagnosis that made sense and new knowledge about my son. I hope your friend doesn't end up going there in order to get answers, but good can come from bad!

And music has been a life saver for him, guitar transports him away like nothing else can. We have Joe's music on in the house all the time now, and about the only time we have the t.v. on is to watch one of his DVD's!!! :) Satch makes us both very, very happy and lifts our spirits every single day.

Zinc Master: cool test, but I'm afraid to ask how many have given the right answer!!! I didn't have a clue, but I have had very mean thoughts many times!! Glad to know I probably won't become a serial killer any time soon! :)

Bahduh, many congratulations on your baby boy! I'm sure he's very precious!

To everyone else out in "Joe-land", hope you're having a terrific day......... I love Fall!

Zinc Master....very funny! I wish I could say we were from some place "exotic" like Wisconsin, but born and raised right here in Oregon. The name "cheese101" came from my son in one of his more brilliant and creative moods :-) and he originally registered on this site with that name but never posted. When I decided to post I was "allowed" to use his nickname! And now I'm stuck with it I'm afraid!

It's a scary world we live in if we all fall into one of those 4 categories from your test!! Time to go live in the wilderness maybe?

Oh, and it sounds like you had an awesome time at EWJ...we can't wait for our turn!

Hi, this is chris, I'm sixteen and a guitar player, (three years) I had a question for another guitar player. I was wondering if anyone out there knew the song SMF, and was experienced enough to tell me what joes approximate eq, dist, settings are, Etc.

I would really appreciate help, as this is one of my favorite satch songs.

Thanks, Chris

michelle, great post, I think that sums it all up, whoever ends up as our President, we have to hope he has the faith, courage and intelligence to guide our nation well. The election will be decided by the people and hopefully we vote thoughtfully.

achoo, I don't know the answer to your question, but I wholeheartedly agree with you................WE NEED AN EWJS DVD!!! JOE, are you listening? If you make it, we will buy!!!!

Susie2000, how was your vacation week? I'm jealous! Hope it was good!

Matt King, I don't know you but I understand something of what you have been going through. Life can be such a challenge at times and we don't always understand why bad things have to happen, but in the end, there is a reason for everything. Keep on with your music as it is food for the soul and can lead to good things! You sound great!

Congratulations on completing a huge month of concerts...from all the reviews posted here it sounds like you really took it up a notch and played your heart out! I can't imagine how you could have bettered yourself, as you are already such a wonderful musician, but I guess even you can continue to evolve.....soon you'll truly be floating right off this planet! My son and I are really looking forward to seeing you in San Francisco December 26th....have a wonderful month of November off!

OCPS470: I have to say, I agree with you. I have a 16 year old son who usually enjoys reading the posts here until they get kind of mean. And believe it or not, he doesn't like swearing! This is a great site and most of the time the ribbing is really funny..unless it gets too intense or hurts someones feelings. I love the sense of community everyone has here, and the amount of support people give to each other, even strangers, is awesome! I'm not anyone important and don't intend this to be critical or as if I'm trying to police what anyone says, but I think you make a good point! Life is too short, we can agree to disagree, but still take care for one another. As far as I'm concerned, everyone here is a lovely person with something worthwhile to share with others! That said, hope all have a great Monday!!

Mari: you beautifully said what I've been feeling ! Joe and everyone he surrounds himself with to bring his music to the world provides us with a great gift, one we hope we get to keep receiving for a very long time! A very Happy Thanksgiving back to you and all the other T2J folks out there......many blessings to all!
