Hi everyone. Thanks for the help with my bass. I'm going to try to set the intonation at the 24th fret instead of the 12th...hopefully that will work. If not, I'll try to run the strings through the body.

death cube k - Can I have that x-ray? Yeah, I know I'm weird...sorry.

Quantum --- Very good point, I never really thought of it in that respect. I stand corrected. Guess you learn something new every day. :)

Quantum- what makes the chrome on a chromeboy, is it actually a mold or formed on the guitar. I've never seen one up close but it does look like metal from a distance and a photo.

My sister sold a fender strat. (red and white) today for $175, nice case included. Great condition, 7 years old. Was that a good price?

Ya Yo, try not too analize yourself too much, it will drive you crazy, or crazier-lol. Good luck on the fast track. I did my masters in 1 year and ended up with mono. Don't foget, the best paper is a DONE paper.

2 days to you know who's you know what.......JS's B-Day...woooo.

Peace, Linda

Loo Who - personally i think $175 is very very cheap if the condition is good like u say and it includes a case i would have paid at least $400, but thats my opinion. My Encore red strat type (don't anyboby laugh! :) was £200 when i bought it 8 years ago when i was starting out. which brings be on to my next item i need some help i think my tremlo isn't a tremlo what i mean is my tremlo system has a hole for a tremlo arm but i can't see anyway in which it would move there's no name on the thing so i can't tell can anybody help???

ATTENTION: Hey, for the people like me who can't get adjusted to the new post arrangement here, try this:

1. When you get to the Talk to Joe board, click on VIEW ALL. You will be taken to the very first page on this new design. 2. On top you'll see links to the first 20 pages of comments. Click on any of those links. 3. Now, on your browser's address bar you have a long address that near the end has the number of the current page (if you clicked on the 7, look for page=7). Change that number to a high number (right now the highest would be 122) and press ENTER.

Why go thru all this trouble? For all of us who check this site on DIFFERENT PC's, it gets REALLY annoying to look at each page trying to find the last message u actually read. By using this system u just have to remember the OVERALL number of the last page u read, and u can start from there.

Hope this helps someone else. In the meantime, WEBCAST!!! Later.

AUSTIN!!! About your bass problem... I have also had similar problems with a simple factory string change... One thing you should keep in mind is that Fender cores are built heavier w/ more tension, GHS strings don't usually have as much tension (even when the gauge is the same... seriously, Fender says it right on some of their string packs, and I'm pretty sure that includes the 8250s...)

Have you already adjusted for action? .115tw to a .105w will raise the strings lower edge quite a bit; after the action is changed there ought to be 5-8 cents difference with the 12th fret intonation... Seeya August 11th (go Satch!)!!!

Loo Who - Joe's chrome guitars are wood dipped in chrome. I think the chrome guitars that were sold to the public were actually clear lucite guitars dipped in chrome.

akreepish1 - I'm going to mess around with my guitar a little later today. If what I try now doesn't work I'll probably adjust the action. Thanks...

seven string slinger....love that guitar. very bluesy-looking, but i don't know what. good luck with saving up for that. it's worth it though. that's why im hoping the new 2000s are gonna drop the price. i can't believe they stopped producing the burnt transparent blue. sal right.

Joe is not gonna give any of yall a guitar, no matter how much you beg.

i played a little ps2 today and it was this wierd fighting japanese game or whatever and i swear it was joe in the backround playin music. and know that he said he was gonna play for some ps2 games. it just got me a little excited is all.

i also heard satch boogie on a local late-night sports show. do they need permission from you to do that joe?

circles is awesome. 1:27-1:32 is cool. as i get more developed as a guitar player, im totally appreciating the little licks that joe does.

My ibanez S470 is bein freaky. it's going out of tune so fast. i don't know what to do. so ive been busting out my ghetto-style rg120. very cool actually. i was surprised at how it sounded. if anyone could give me a little insight on what to do, then please.

that's all for now. peace.

While visiting NYC this past weekend I went to the Hard Rock Cafe. In the HRC I was seated next to a Joe Satriani Ibanez that is displayed in a glass case. This guitar is black with silver paint sort of scribbled all over it -- including the fretboard. The effect was very cool. I could not keep my eyes off of that guitar. I'd think the paint on the fretboard would wear off with play so I wonder if the guitar was prepared specially for sale to the HRC. Is there any "story" behind this guitar?

Sweep_pick --- Thanks for your help! However, I stillhave one question : what is a Super Shifter?? I have never heard of such a BOSS Pedal; what does it do?

Austin (stu not boo) --- I think you are quite right; the JS10 Chromeboys sold to the public are actually made of lucite ( a kind of plastic) and not wood. I think that's kinda sad isn't it?

orezeno --- i think that Ibanez you saw in the Hard Rock Cafe goes by the name of Black Dog, and was donated by Joe himself!!
