I TRY to play (stress, try!) to play my Fender Squier Strat (2x single coil, 1 humbucker) on my little Squier SP-10 10w amp.
Its classic black with white scratchplate.
I don't know how to read music, and i think tabs are somewhat confusing (for me at the moment, anyway- its been ages since i've read any!), so i play by ear. Most of the time i'm pretty accurate- the only difference is usually strings + fret etc. compared with the actual music. As long as it sounds right, i sort of don't care.
I can (sort of) play WAR (rhythm) etc.. and a few others, like crystal planet, love thing, train of angels etc.. but not very well.

chocoholic - interesting. i mean, yeah i agree that all the pauline / mickey / ross love triangle thing was a bit ... sick but i wouldn't say any more so than some of the stuff from the first series. I just loved the doctor guy and grandmother's footsteps, as well as the 6th sense reference (the guy in the coffin at church)
clarky- i'm not sure of who the "big 5 russians" are... I like Stravinsky, a lot, as well as Prokovieff, Rimsky Korsakoff, Rachmaninoff, I like most big Russian music. Tchaikovsky. I like Smetana too. Bear in mind that I am relatively new to this kind of music, and have heard little of it all so far.
Bearing this in mind what you said about first half of 20th century music is probably quite similar to how I think- I just haven't got bored by lots of it yet. I know I really like Stravinsky, cause I keep going back to it. But Schoenberg and Webern seems all too..... odd. It's something like people winning the turner prize for creating a room with a lightswitch going on and off.
I shall try and listen to more instrumental Bach. That's REALLY ENOUGH BABBLING ON PAUL.. (that's me I'm talking about not paul clarky)

Tapper5 - Thanks. Hopefully 2 - 4 weeks will be enough until I start practicing. No one touches the hand!

Hi everyone... The baseball playoffs are here...let's go, Yankees!
chocoholic - Welcome back! There's not really anything new here...more US tour dates were announced, but that's all.
seleccao - I don't think Steve's on tour now. I'm pretty sure he's taking a break and will start working on his next album soon.
Mobil - It's great that you can play by ear. I'm not as good as that as I would like to be. You should seriously get back into reading music though...it makes things a lot easier sometimes.

Joe, I saw you in Phoenix. I'm only 14 and it was my first time seeing you live, you blew me away! I was glad you played "Satch Boogie". I learned it a while ago and it was wild to see Satch play it himself. You're a great influence!
later, Kody

Joe. It's a pity you've never been in Ukraine. I've never seen your in Live! Moreover, I can't get your CDs here becouse it so difficult. I only have mp3 collection. Of course, I'd like to visit your show here or where you are but I guess it impossible... Just know that I and my friends do like your drive on the Ibanez guitar. I was learning on your guitar-playing since 1984. Now I can do it were good becouse you and Steve Vai. You are the best for me! Thank you for the best drive I've heard in my life.
