Just changed my nickname to chocoholic, thought it was appropriate.
I'm pretty sure when God created the earth he said "And let there be chocolate" and there was.

Master Yoda, just saw your post and wanted to wish you well on you new endeavor. I'm sure you'll enjoy each moment. Good luck to you sir.
Joe, just got the pictures from the Jacksonville show. Really cool. I've shown them to everyone, bragging a little at meeting the most talented guitarist I've ever heard. Just to let you know, the dude with me that night (wife had to work) had never heard your music except in passing. He now has all of your stuff and is a complete fan. Glad I could help bring another to the flock! Rock on, and prayers for Pearly.

OK, now I want opinions from you guys... I'm just about to expand my Joe-collection, and it just so happens that since Joe is not such a BIG artist here in Sweden, his records are rather cheap. I found these titles available for US$8! Since they are so cheap, I might buy two or three of them. I have already decided on Crystal Planet, 'cause everyone in here is ALWAYS talking about how awesome it is so I just have to have it! What do you think of the other titles? What kind of musical style are they?
Crystal Planet
Joe Satriani
Flying In A Blue Dream
Not Of This Earth
The Extremist
I also found something called Dreaming No 11, and it only cost US$4! What is it? I've never heard it mentioned here at TTJ. I guess it's a single of some sort, due to the price. or am I wrong?
Trusting the best of fans to enlighten me......

DRAGONCHILD : i can only speak for myself, anything to do with SATCH whether it be songs ,posters, books ,etc. i would want it all. as far as music is concerned, i like to have early stuff to track his style as he moves on in life. hope that helps. all the albums you have listed are top notch, collect them all... you wont be disappointed.

Dragonchild : I recommend you The Extremist (for me, in the 3 best albums of Joe) and Flying.
Dreaming#11 is a live (3 tracks, or 4...?) with the studio version of "The crush of Love".

It's cool to see some other fans of The Simpsons here on the site. A few months ago I think elpp and I were the only ones. Now, I wonder if Joe likes The Simpsons.
Master Yoda - Come back soon! We'll miss ya...
axebearer - I'd email the webmaster and ask him if the prizes have been shipped yet.
chocoholic - I like the new nickname. ;-)
dragonchild - If you were going to get 3 albums from the group that you mentioned, go for Crystal Planet, Flying In A Blue Dream, and The Extremist. Of course, you need to eventually get them all. The Joe Satriani album is really bluesy... I didn't recommend it because it's hit or miss with most people. If you like blues, though, give it a shot. Not Of This Earth is good too, but it's not as popular as his later stuff.
The Dreaming #11 disc is a four song EP. It includes the studio version of The Crush Of Love as well as 3 live songs. Check the discography page of the site here for more info.

Dragonchild, if you don't have Flyin in a Blue Dream, get it. It's the shiznit. All of Joe's stuff is unbelievable. But, for me, a fan since Surfin', it's the one I listen to most. I do have to say, a close second is the new one. It really shows just how much heart and soul that little guy has. I wish I could find a retailer that had all of the collection at reasonable prices, I would like to get a set of unopened ones for Joe to sign the next time he passes through. My most prized possession is my autographed "Strange Beautiful Music".
Thanks Joe for everything! You bring us joy and inspiration and a reason to own a really good system!!!!!!

All you theory bods....Anyone who fancies jumping in with an opinion or idea feal free... if you're on the right path then you'll be confirming what you know which is a good thing... if you're a little off here and there we can correct it which is also a good thing...
a win-win situation..
Note: The most stupid question is the one not asked... so don't be shy.....
