962 Vai is doing Halo 2 as in he is playing music for the game? that would be sweet!!

has anyone ever heard of the Micheal Ross band? probalby not. they are a band from around my area. I saw them play live on satruday. it was pretty good. they did their own music which is kinda blues like and old rock. and then they did some other peoples' songs like Santana and stuff like that. it was good. I also got a cd from them. they are pretty cool.

Brother al I asked you some questions a while ago about your Danelectro talk box, I have one more question. What does the "growl" knob do, I didn't buy the pedal yet, but I am very soon. Could you please tell me what the "growl" knob does? Also, does this pedal have really good sounds, anything close to or somewhat like what Frampton's Framptone Talk Box can produce? I would get the Framptone talk box, but that talk box is too much, like $500!!!

First off - Happy Fathers day to Joe and all the other dads out there!

Second - I was thinking about flying out to one of the 'Evening with Joe' concerts in December. I know this is far... far off, but is there a song list projected or rumored? Just curious... Thanks!

Carlos Santana News

Pioneering Latin-rock guitarist Carlos Santana has slammed Ozzy Osbourne as one of "corny-ass white people" while reprimanding the American media for failing to give due credit to jazz artist Elvin Jones who died recently.

Jones' death passed unnoticed without even a mention in the papers, something which Santana believes is due to the racist attitude of the press.

"I'm really embarrassed for this nation, and for MTV and VH1 and Rolling Stone, because it was a very racist thing not to acknowledge this most important musician when he passed," Santana was quoted as saying in The San Diego Union-Tribune.

"For them to play up Ozzy Osbourne and other corny-ass white people, but not Elvin, is demeaning and I'm really embarrassed to live in this country," he added.

"If I would've been running MTV, I would've stopped all the corny stuff they show and shown one of Elvin's (drum) solos. Because he represents the highest level of creativity, like Duke Ellington," Santana continued.

"America is such an ignorant country. I understand that I'm hard on America, but if you look at all the (alarming) things on CNN, (you'll see) we need to grow up quickly. We need to crystallize our existence because we place economic values over spiritual ones.

"I'm hurt. And if I was a little hard or cruel with MTV and VH1, they deserve it. They need to stop showing what they are showing, and show real musicians. Why do they keep showing such stupidity? MTV needs to reassess its priorities."

I dont think MTV is really racist, because all they care about is BLING BLING! They play hip hop and R&B quiet a bit. They played those corny ass Santana videos to the point which cured my constipation. Who the hell is Santana calling corny? MTV and Ozzy? I dont understand someone who joined forces with sell outs like Rob Thomas, Dave Matthews and Everlast to record an album, Why not collaborate with musicians who matter? There was BB King, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Satch! and tonnes of others whom he could have chosen to record with. His corny ass videos for Smooth and Maria Maria were played 24/7 on MTV. I can understand his frustration for not covering Elvin, but MTV made him millions and played a big role in winning him all grammys. He's such a douchebag. Fuck Santana. He cannot beat me in air guitar.

Also, when Santana was making $$$ he never ever said anything about Elvin. Now he's pissed off. Is it because they dont play his music anymore?

Faye, "hope you don't mind me jumping in to help anibur " - no worries.

Haven't spent much time on the puter lately. My son went to Canada on holiday with his friends, and I'm waay heartsick. I miss my little buddy.

Lon, never heard of Skew Siskin. Try another song and see if anyone gets it.

Mick ;-)

Benny, "thnermal gloes" - lmao!!! If that's what happens when you try to type with them on, please don't try to pee without taking off at least one glove. It could get messy...

Hello Joe, Yeah... haven't talked to ya in a while. Just wondering how the tour is going and if your working on any new songs? I sure had a great time meeting you again in April at Tower in Schaumburg ILL. when you signed my JS100. I love to play it and everytime I see you autograph still can't believe it. I'm still playing hard just to keep up with you and really love the new CD "Is there love in Space" besides the G3 DVD with you, Steve and Yngwie. What a rush it is to see so much talent! My favorites off the new CD are "Gnaaahh, Lifestyle, Is There Love in Space, If I Could Fly, The Souls of Distorion and I Like The Rain". All I can say is "Keep on Rock 'N in a Free World!" Thx for all the music, You are the best! Spiz :)

Wankers like Jazzy Boy ought to just shut the hell up and go hide under their rock and never come out. When you prove you play better than Santana, then go shoot your mouth. Until then know that you're only a virtuoso in your own pants.

In the meantime while you're busy shitting on people who leave you for dead, figure out Bamboo and reply to Ender2000. Can't wait for that one. LOL!

SPS: Whatever. Santana does not only suck in guitar, he makes some stupid comments as well. I am not only a virtuoso in my private parts, but quiet a virtuoso with the opposite sex too. Thanks for the compliment.

Mikesb: Uli Jon Roth is a good guitarist, for sure. Definitely he can rock. I did check out metamorphosis and I thought it was amazing but definitely does not tick for me. Nonetheless, its great. He's got soul and the most important part. Thanks!

Jazzy boy I agree that that is pretty stupid of Santana to say that crap. I like some of his music but what a jerk. but i do think that mtv and vh 1 freaking suck. they need to put some white people up there, and play some real music. I dont know if they are racist but what happened to them. last time I had a guitar lesson (7 or 8 months ago) my teacher was talking about mtv. he said that he hates it now and that they never play real music, they just play rap and all that crap. I agree, they did use to play real music like he said. but not anymore. they should get Satch and stuff and play it ! ! !

man, its freaking hot here, for here anyway. and only two days of school left!! then I can spend all day playing guitar and swimming at the lake instead of only a few hours !

js_js: I dont think they need more white people, I dont think they need more black people, I think they need good music up there and stay away from those preppy assed reality shows. Just a bunch of sluts and loser jocks. Its a horrible thing. If you wish to see more "white people" on MTV, thats equally as illogical and racist as Santana's comment. Probably watching VH1 country music channel could satisfy your desire for "white artists." If rap and R&B focused on quality and made good music in a traditional sense, I would be watching it.

Music is not about race, thats the main thing that bugged me quiet a bit when Santana made that comment. Its not Mtv or Vh1 being racist, it was about them catering to what sells the most. Probably most people here have not heard of Elvin Jones. Neither had I. He should have been pissed about people not caring about Elvin Jones because he was a good drummer. MTV, Rolling Stone and VH1 are quiet liberal because the music industry customers come from all races and backgrounds. So racism in that industry means commercial suicide.

The solution... more adults need to buy music. The music industry is ruined because it targets teens who don't care what they listen to as long as it's cool. If adults ruled the music scene, we might not have this problem.
