mikesb, agreed, Billy Sheehan really is a good player, and he's a good improvisor too.

Big Bunny, yeah, you know, that's a very good point.....if they were watching him for so long how did they not notice before they shot him that he wasn't their man?!
JS_JS, try anything from the Harmonic Minor family, which includes things like Double Harmonic and Spanish Gypsy scales.
Brother Al, dude, I don't know who told you the Tone Zone is between an Evo and a PAF Pro, but I'd disagree entirely. It's very hot and got plenty of bass and treble, but lacks the fat mids you require to get the warmth you're after.

I tired one in my (mahogany-bodied) SA1260, bridge position, and you couldn't hear the mid-tones of a chord at all, it was horrible. I've now got a Norton in there and it is beautiful. It's a very nice open, fat, warm sound with some bite too.....it doesn't get muddy under high gain. I don't know how different it will be in a guitar with a non-mahogany body, but it's tonal characteristics suggest that it will be much the same.

And yes, F spacing does make a difference. Not so much with the neck pickup, but definitely in the bridge position.

mari, thanks, I'm 258 motnhs old and I was born on a tuesday! You learn something new every day! Also, my tree is a Fir Tree aparrently, which is cool, I guess!

I'm not happy about this life-path stuff though, aparrently I'm a materialistic loner who, as long as I remain positive (?!?) will be succesful in business!

Great, so I'm not allowed to have any friends then?! haha. I'm not big on numerology anyway :-P

PhryDom hey Big Bunny the more the merrier! :-)

I wasn't condoning what the police did, but the news mentioned that the guy ran when told to stop, more than once, and he also jumped over the barriers to get onto the train.... like I said I wouldn't know what must have been going through their heads........

that's ok man, i wasn't condoning what the cops did too, but then i guess they were only doing what they were trained to do - someone must have told them to go after the guy, isn't there a brain behind all the guys out on foot making sure they got the right info. if you're told by superiors that someone is a terrorist & they run when you tell em to stop, your trained to pull the trigger

962 Big Bunny, yeah, you know, that's a very good point.....if they were watching him for so long how did they not notice before they shot him that he wasn't their man?!

actually i think either you or Phrydom pointed that out before me :D i just can't remember who it was doh! - but that means that for 2wks they were watching the wrong guy!! so meanwhile the real baddies are moving around planning their next attack - that sux

Zinc Master Farmer killed by falling cow
..................................................................................................She said the cow, named Lara, had been very meek and that even children could milk her without fear. The newspaper did not say what had become of the cow.

ZM can you find out what became of Lara!!! I won't be able to sleep tonight if she's not ok - the girl needs counselling, she's just accidently killed her owner!!!

aussieRGman BigBunny thanks for your kind words mate

no probs RG :) *hug*

bahduh bigbuny,,,,hello...how are yu sis?? i'm doing ok thanx brother in Christ :) I pray that your son will get better soon, babies arn't too fond of needles so when the doc is with him put your fingers up in the shape of a bunny & go 'look at the bunny! look at the bunny!' it works well on adults ;)

Good Morning Satchland.......

Captain Steve...... SteveeT's definition is correct. If your looking for names..... or want to hear what shredding sounds like ........Check out...... Yngwie Malmsteen, Micheal Angelo Batio or Rusty Cooley or go here http://www.chopsfromhell.com.... at this site there's a few more shredders and lessons to get you started with style of playing. This should help you understand what shredding is anyway. I hope we answered your question.

Thanks also to you for your help

I've had a look around the net for examples. Can't say it is my cup of tea per se.

I'm sure it takes great skill to play very quickly but I don't see the point in playing at great speed just for the sake of it, although sometimes it may be necessary to make a point within a song.

I'm off to listen to 'Always with me, Always with you' and try to figure out arpeggiated chords and syncopated melody.

Have fun

Steve

The best chicken and egg joke ever.....

A chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is leaning against

the headboard smoking a cigarette with a satisfied smile on its face.

The egg – looking a bit pissed off – grabs the sheet, rolls over and says:

"Well, I guess we finally answered THAT question."

Big Al I have a Kent Armstrong Super Distortion as my back pickup. It's got a great sound, really beefy without being too muddy, and when you add a coil tap it cleans up really nicely. You can get these from wdmusicproducts.co.uk. Not sure if they come in red though! You might need to buy a bottle of nail varnish ;-) works wonders.
Big Bunny I just checked the news archives, and the guy had only been under surveillance since the evening of the day before, "The man emerged from a block of flats in the Stockwell area that were under police surveillance as part of the investigation into the incidents on Thursday 21st July," police said in a statement.
Got a new Guitarhoo article coming out soon, prolly later this week. Hope y'all like it! Laterz, Me

EDIT: Spelling and stuff.

Delfino thought these links might be good to you:

http://www.blender.org/ http://orange.blender.org/

they're described as "- the best open source 3D modelling software (free, and open to reprogramming by those that know how), plus the first open source movie project (that is, the whole film and all its elements will be made available for rehashing)."

AFAIK we're waiting on Chris getting the final track order done, and then a little bit more graphics to come in, and some liner notes from Austin, then we're ready to roll. All people who submitted tracks by the deadline will have their music on the site, and available for purchase.

EDIT: Gotta run... job interview... later peeps!
