Death Cube - Did you get the 2nd video aswell? I'm 18 and have really been playing for 3 years but i've known how to play for 9. I never knew anything about music or scales etc... until I heard of Joe.

Am I the only one that noticed that the arpeggios in Mind Storm are EXACTLY the same as the ones in Crushing Days ?? Who said Joe's new stuff never gives the impression of "déjà heard" ??

Anyways .... I want "Slick" ! I want "Slick" !

"Slick" as special "Additional Beautiful Music" cd !!!!!!!!! Anybody with me ?

Hi to anyone who might know anything about my problem, I live in BC Canada, near Vancouver, and no cd stores have Joe's new album. It isn't sold out, they just never had it in the first place. They told me it wasn't even on their "new release list". So, I've waited almost two weeks, and still no one has it. Is there something I don't know, or are these two record stores (a&b sound, future shop) just practicing bad business?

joe i just recieved my ticket to your san diego concert. this is soo cool. im puting off leaving for college, just because i have bought the tickets. as soon as the show is over the next day i leave home! but its one of those great adventures that i just have to do. i just bought the new album, i have to say that it is amazing in that it personifies so many different aspects of your musicallity. when i listened to it i heard a little bit of everything, and some weird stuff from somewhere else. hey i also bought an old record (dreaming #11), it has four songs on it - crush of love, ice nine, memories and hordes of locusts. i want to have you sign it if i get the chance, it would make a nice college dorm decoration. i cant wait to see the show and im prayin for backstage passes. take care joe and band and everybody. oh, and "what breaks a heart" is definately my favorite off the new album. -thegoose Curtis Smith.

Hey Joe, been a long time fan of yours. Way back in '86 win "Not Of This Earth" was released. I ran to Best Buy yesterday and they were out of your new CD. I've got most of your albums but never had the opportunity to see you live. Well that time has come. I got tix for your Houston performance on August 18. I'm so glad you are doing it at the Verizon Theater. I saw YES there a few years back. Less than 3000 seats... not a bad one there. Really pumped too that you are touring with Dream Theater and a local band... King's X. I friend of mine knows Ty Tabor. We almost got him to one of our Boy Scout meetings... now we really would have had folks talking!!

I've got a 19 year old son that has been playing guitar for a few years. It's so exciting to see him not only enjoy the new bands but also embrace some of the seasoned groups and performers. He is a big Metallica nut... plays almost everything they do... but he's gotten into my favorites such as ZZ Top, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Def Leppard, Dream Theater, and YOU of course. He's very excited about seeing you LIVE too. He's had a run of bad luck lately buying tickets for OZZY and CREED and both got cancelled due to injuries of the front men.

Any way... can't wait for your show! ... and stay healthy!!!

JS Clone 1: Oh wait I think I know what you mean since the k just means 1000 anyway, but it's easier to say 20hz to 20khz. Saves space on the zeros. Sorry for the confusion.

Invigor: Got it.

The Local Person: Thanks. I just realized that after thinking about it a bit.

I'm a recording major in college and I'm used to seeing it as 20khz.

Vetteguy43 Also check out the 520QS. It's got an Edge trem on it as well.

Richard... I shook hands with ya man... your hands are just as big as mine... and I know mine are pretty big... not long but thick & wide... anyways... it doesn't matter...

Saw Journey the other night Live in concert... those guys are amazing, except there was this real old guy there, cheering to the guys on stage as if he was watching a World Series Baseball game or something... He kept repeating over and over again "Those guys are something else, they are absolutely amazing....AMAZING" through the whole night. It was at a Casino (I don't know, maybe he just struck it rich or something) Peace.... AMAZING!!!!

Joe, I have run into a predictament that really has me saddened. I purchased tickets to your concert at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia on August 24. Later, I was looking at the info for the concert and was torn apart to hear that the concert was only for ages 21 and over! I'm only 17, so you can understand how bad I felt. All I'd like to know is, what gives??? Is the age requirement something that the venue decides? If so, why is your show set for 21 and up while the Slayer show taking place just a few days later is all ages? If there is anything you can do, I'd appreciate it. If the only thing you can do is play in Atlanta, Georgia or Birmingham, Alabama in the future, that works too, but I'm still out 40 bucks! Thanks for your time.

Plum Loco - My fingers aren't stubby or anything but it's just funny how exaggeraed they are in that picture. The video kind of sets it straight. Must have been a "mutant" frame that was used for the screen shot.

The Scales and Soloing lesson with Joe at www.guutar.com is absolutely inspiring and ethereal. How Joe knows himself and explains everything he does so well...

Joe is so far beyond other guitar players, it seems pointless to listen to the others.

I remember reading years ago about all the surfing songs Joe had stashed over the years, I remember it was dozens....I really hope he releases a Surfing Song album...would make a great driving cd to listen to, not that his others aren't amazing...I would just like to see a fast, heavy Joe album and then maybe a soft, melodic Joe album....maybe EP's or something...... any thoughts?

death cube k - I wonder if there are any "Y2K" problems on the site here... Will I go back to 0 posts after 99? ;-)

Vetteguy43 - Most music stores offer lessons...so I'd ask around at a few near you. You should expect to pay around $30 per hour...that's what I paid for bass lessons a year or two ago.

Storm55 - Joe will absolutely blow you away. You'll have an awesome time at the show.

Hustafaben - Usually the age stuff is up to the promoter. So that's be Clear Channel in this case... There's not much you can do about it...it does kinda stink.

JS Clone 1 - So Joe has lessons at www.guutar.com? ;-) When did that start? LOL...

...Austin...

Austin - Those lessons have been there for a while if you didn't know already. Scales and Soloing, and Chords and Arpeggios I believe.

I was gonna copy and paste a small clip of a human hearing article that discussed the range which is 20 - 20,000 hz. But that's all been set straight before. well done ibztone. lol

RE Frequency range debate: Paul Huxley aka The Local Person is correct except one thing, megahertz is MHz not mHz. mHz stands for millihertz, and so 5mHz would be 5 signals per 1000 seconds. (One every 200 seconds! Significant difference!)

Just so no-one took his advice as absolute gospel and bet their life away on that.

EOC I definitely agree should not be a one-off however PLEASE people stop referring to it as "techno" it is in no way a techno album. Only a couple of songs are techno oriented. Devil's Slide, parts of Borg Sex, Attack, Power Cosmic 2000 Part 2. All the rest you could say has an electronic feel about it, however IT IS NOT "TECHNO" per se.

I like many different kinds of music, so frankly Joe can do what he pleases and there's a huge chance that I'll like it anyway whether it's Joeish or not.

later BEN

PS Still waiting for SBM...

PPS Why wasn't "Time" on that setlist? I thought it was everyone's fave...

Rich JS Clone 1 is a very dedicated player. I have known him for quite some time and have had the pleasure to get to know him quite well. In all my time giving theory advice and all that good stuff, I have never seen anyone with such a hunger for knowledge as him. Glad to see he is finally getting the respect he deserves as a player...especially from around these parts of the net. Later...
