Guitarmiester, yeah those are Paul's lyrics on the jam. "I-ba-nez, and la-ney amps are the coo-lest" haha, what a legend.

Andy doesn't play through the whole show, although it would be fine by me if he did 'cause his performance is by far the most exciting. Vai's set sucks, especially because of his apalling tone, Paul's set is short but sweet, but Andy just kills. And in the jam too!

Ibanezplyr: Right-on man, glad to see you and Steven are still rocking, and Godspeed to you guys!! :-)

Oh, and btw, for you guys and anyone else here interested.... Paul Gilbert is looking like this these days.... lol, I think we are getting closer to an Instrumental album from him! :-)

Guitarmiester: Dude.... Where did you get the whole 90th anny show?!?!.... I've only seen a few parts of it floating around on the web....

Satriella: haha, lol, the funny thing about the Flamingo dealio was the name.... Thats what he calls it cause he cant play Flamenco, lol, you have to see the whole video (Terrifying Guitar Trip).... In the beginning, he is in a pool with his dog and an acoustic talking about his early days as a player.... At the end he has this Godzilla/Gamera toy fight staged at the end, lol, I love his humor!!....

Here's some more from that video Terrifying Guitar Trip....

....Later peeps....

Good Morning Satchland.......What's up in your world today?

Ovation 1..... Thanks so much. I don't know what I did to deserve such wonderful comments from you and Spizazz. But....it makes me feel real GOOD ! ! ! Thanks.

SteveeT / Mari...... How's the snow? I saw it on the news this morning and thought of you guys right away. It's insane. I love snow But..... gees come on ! ! ! Mari....Glad you're feelin' better. I just recently got a subscribtion to Guitar World also. I got the Randy Rhoads and Satch issue with no CD in both mags. I'm pissed. What's up with that? I'm going to email them today. I want to hear the snipit of "Super Coloaasal" plus have the lesson from Joe on CD. Randy Rhoads issue has the transcirption to "Cliffs Of Dover" It's funny the timing of these mags. The guys want me to learn that tune so we can play it live. It's nice they have the confidence in me. So I'm thinkin' it'll take a year to learn that one....lol.....BTW.....I got the pic and the story about the Albino Fawn. That was great. I forwarded it to my mother in law. The pic I couldn't open was the one about customer service or something related to that. Be careful with all that piled up snow when driving. You wont be able to see shit approching intersections. But I forgot....You have Rockzilla.....The snow is no match for her....Take care you guys. BTW.....We're really excited about the first gig. People I've networked with while searching for players are starting to email me. The internet is the perfect tool for musicians. It's unreal. Always hugs and of coarse a hand shake for SteveeT....lol....

gottahave joe.....Rhoads....lol..... A new guitar...... Yeah ! ! ! How ya feeling? Are you mending OK? Hugs.

Satriella......I'd love to chat with you. That would be great ! ! ! BTW..... I LOVE GUITARS TOO ! ! ! !

Have A GReat Day Everyone ! ! !

Mari..... I just opened the barn email. I must admit I didn't know what you were talking about in the previous post. This struck a chord in me ( pun intended ) You've made my day. Thank you.

I always wanted to be a rock star.

Not because I've got mad guitar skills, because I don't, but because I'd really hate to see these mad hotel-room-trashing skills of mine go utterly to waste.

Keniko, Hey in my "Chicago" package I also received a CD called "The Unstruck Melody" by a dude named Eric Mantel. It is very diverse and awesome Eric Johnson/Andy Timmons type talent and phrasing all over twenty tracks in various musical styles from hell bent country chicken picking all the way to Wes Montgomery style jazz phrasings... Check out the accolades this dude has gotten from his idols/peers etc under the "Quotes" link on his website

You ever crossed paths with this guy?

Hey joe, sorry i haven't been on for a while, I've just been busy. I've been studying. I wanted to tell you about classical music, which you probably have heard, but I just wanted to say how wonderful listening to classical guitar peices is. I am perticuarily crazy about a song called "leyenda". Its a wonderful peice full of highly technical technique. Try listening to Narcisso Yepes, who is a brilliant classical guitarist. Well, I think he is still alive, but I dont Know.... Anyway, stay cool, domo arigato, siyonara, diolch yn fawr iawn, hwl, Thanks

Peace P.S Please read this....

Mikesb...... Yes, I know who Eric Mantel is. I took lessons from him years ago. I stopped because of the distance. He lives way South of me and it took like an 11/2 hrs to reach him. He may not remember me but Patrick Doody (drummer for Lonnie Brooks for 10years) was on my site as my drummer knows him real well. Patrick has a link to Eric's site from his site. I also have a link to Patrick's site form mine. I met Eric Johnson at an out door fest I played at a couple of years ago. Eric and Eric...lol..... know each other real well and EJ and I started talking about EM. Mantel is a huge EJ fan and they talk with each other all the time. Actually Eric Mantel records at Patrick's studio from time to time. Mantel is very talented. He can cut the rug when he wants and then he can lay back also. I have his CD that has the violinist from Kansas on it. I forget his name and forget the title of the CD but it's true Eric Mantel all the way. I know for a while Eric was endorsing APC guitar pickups. They sounded real good and they were made local. I think it was Bensenville, Il. I haven't heard much of APC lately and I don't know if the're still around. As a matter of fact I have a signed promo from Eric endorsing these pick ups. Ever heard of APC Pickups? Someday I'll be sending you my promo for review...lol...scary .....lol.....Take Care.

http://www.patrickdoody.com

Edit..... I went to Doody's site. He completely changed it around and has no more links. Strange. http://www.ericmantel.com

Keniko, that would be the album (mostly acoustic stuff I am led to believe) with David Ragsdale who repaced Robbie Steinhart as violinist in Kansas... Ragsdale was a pretty damn good guitarist too I have a Kansas video with him laying it down pretty good. You should seek out this new Eric album it really runs an incredible gamut of style.....

962 I didn't mean to say Andy played the entire show, but most of it. And yes, he was more exciting than Vai and Gilbert (I still don't think Gilbert had enough time to show much). Yea, I was also pretty upset with Vai's performance, the song was pretty boring, and he even didn't seem to like that Bogner amp he was playing through, he kept turning back to tweak the EQ's. Gilbert and those lyrics, he had me laughing. Hey, you can't blame him for those lyrics, such an easy setup he has: Ibanez guitars and Laney amps! and it sounds soooo good!...plus, his unbelievable skills!

ovation1 About the 90th anniv. show... My brother has Limewire (I think that's what it's called), and I was looking to see if I could find any Paul Gilbert clips or videos (I was hoping to find some stuff from the Snowball of Doom DVD). He searched later on while I was playing some guitar, when I was done an hour or two later, walked into my room and there was a blank CD sitting ontop of my DVD collection (which is nothing but music DVDs) put it in and it was the Ibanez 90th anniv. show. I'll have to search and see if I can find any good Gilbert videos or clips on that Limewire. I can't find Snowball of Doom (DVD) anywhere, even Amazon.com only has it used. I'll be in NY next week, maybe I'll get lucky and find it.
