Hey Shogun, how does work as a mechanic and guitar playing jive these days? My bro was an auto mechanic and once told me that when I took my car in, I should look for the guy in the garage with the worst possible barked knuckles!!!lol He said that was a surefire sign about who was the best mechanic in the place, the guy who will go the extra mile for ya!!!!

So what are you, good mechanic or good guitar player!!! lol

The Prez - Joe doesn't play certain markets because local promoters don't want to book him. I'm sure Joe doesn't like the way things have been recently (hardly any gigs in the Pacific Northwest [G3 2001, SBM], skipping Texas on this past G3 tour, etc.), but there isn't much he can do about it.

Your best bet is to support other similar acts when they come to your part of town, to show the promoters that there's an interest for instrumental rock. Go see bands like Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Morse, etc. whenever they come to town.

AfterTheEarthquake - Hi.
JIM 2004 - As far as I know, there are no plans to release past G3 tours on CD or DVD. I doubt any shows from the other tour were even filmed. It wouldn't surprise me if Joe has soundboard tapes of most of the jams, but I doubt Sony would want to release something like that. Joe probably wouldn't release it on his own because the royalties would make such a release unprofitable.
Clarky - MozKnot? Why not stretch it slightly into Mo' Snot (considering your recent colds / stuffy noses)...?
slim - Yngwie had other touring plans.

...Austin...

Good Morning Joe, and all in the site. How can I get rid of the squeaking my hand causes when I'm sliding from one bar chord to another. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. for example A bar chord to F bar chord. It seems to happen when I'm in a hurry to get to the next chord. Is there an actual quick FIX IT for this. any ideas, solutions anyone. thanks

bluebuffalo9 - The only real way to prevent that is to play with no strings, but the problem with that is that you don't make any sound. I actually like the string noise, especially on an acoustic. It sounds realy rootsy and organic.

BLUEBUFFALO: The only way around it I find is to use fresh strings along with some 'Fast Fret' or some other kind of string lubricant.

yoda - another cure for squeeky hands is to oil the joints...

I agree especially with the accoustics.. organic is exactly what I'd have called it too.. sounds nice with a pile of reverb.. to some small degree I actually try to make that sound in places just because it sounds so nice.. so for some changes I'll purposely get a touch 'lazy' with the technique.. in moderation it just sounds way to cool not to...

however.. I do hate that sound bitterly when I'm riffing and I try really hard to make sure it's not there.. but with all the compression, over-drive and top in the eq it gets real tough..

there's just no easy way.. just got to play clean and tidy..

eta - yes... clever, sophistique, subtle.. with no class and lots of volume.. lol..
it seems that there are a few people that like my playing.. I'm under no illusion though.. bringing out my album will not exactly replace my day job.. lol..
shogun - that's true about the dojo.. it's funny when you embark upon a journey only to find that you've arrived somewhere completely different and unexpected.. and it's a far better place..
do the stu - so you buy a MoSnot cd.. a pal say "woz in the bag?" you say "MoSnot".. he says "why you wanna buy mo snot.. you make loads by ya self"
Shogun - the great part about being a Civie is not having to do 100 push-ups for even the slightest screw up..
