Takmaster - it was probably due to an 11:00pm curfue imposed by the local council. Joe had to make sure he ended his set @ Shepherds Bush Empire by 11:00pm.

Saw the show in London 18th. Thankyou so much for such an incredible show! You appear to be getting better - I guess you're practicing all the time - there is just no other way. I hope that you're US gigs are as successfull as the Euro ones. I live and work in ISRAEL and I realize that times are hard but you should know that you are HUGE here so please consider coming over for a show - believe me - you'd enjoy yourself.

Being one of the winners of an aftershow pass for the Dutch show in Amsterdam (but without a camera) I was wondering if anyone has any pictures (digitally) of the aftershow event. We were the two guys sitting next to the entrance door. Could you send photos to sreinerink@zonnet.nl? Thanks!

Ovation1 LOL- imagine Sharon, Arafat and all the other quarreling world leaders sitting together, listening to SBM and stomping their feet and nodding their heads to the rhythm..... and afterwards they look at each other and say 'Hey, we must be crazy, fighting over such petty little things as honor and who owns what land and whatever, when we can make love and listen to strange beautiful music all day long!' <grin> That would really make my day!

Hey thanks JSClone - I think you've just made my mind up!! :)
I don't suppose you know anything about the tremolo - It seems to be a gunmetal colour and looks very sturdy compared to other RG models here, but Is it good for dives, harmonics etc...I've heard some tremolos affect the quality of tone.
thanks

sharon: didnt see you there Im afraid. Last time I stood where you were, & it was fun, but I found it just too loud, & not very comfortable(old age creeping on!!)!
anibur: I must have been right in front of you! I went & sat on the right hand side facing the stage in the reserved seats:)....since no-one else claimed them! Perfect view, & sound was pretty good there too.
michelle: love your post! Very funny......!
My darling kids gave me a mini disc player for my birthday, & as it doesn't record, my son is recording all my satch collection on his for me. Yesterday he recorded SBM, & he said."actually mum, one of those wasn't too bad...."!
I will convert them yet! (It's just not cool to like the same music as your mum, even if you love it!!)

Yoda - I was in the Walkabout from 6:30 to 8:30 which is why we didn't get to meet up again....
I was in the Bush for the last 10 mins of the support gig and called your mobe at the interval [although I know the signal is poor around that area].... Shame we didn't get to meet up... not to worry, we'll be having a jam session again pretty soon I'm sure....[especially as Guildford is only a 45 min drive away..].
I did get to bump into Herman [from Dragon Heart] and Iggy... I played Jemfest with those two and we've not seen each other for some time so we hit the bar..... cool.... Iggy and I will be playing Jemfest UK again this October... should be fun..
Shell - it was real nice to bump into you [even if it was only brief]. I'm sure we'll crash into each other again pretty soon....
JSC1 - dude... the video files didn't show up... maybe try sending again.... let me know if you get difficulty sending it, and mabe we'll figure out another way....
PeteM - I'm glad to know that someone else is having trouble with IUMA uploading and downloading... I thought I was being victimised by a server.....
All the dudes and dudettes from the Bush..... My 'unmissable' Dream Theatre T-shirt in yellow and red tye-dye was exactly the same [but with different logo of course] as the Satch T-shirt with the Surfing Alien on the front... It looks as though DT and Satch use the same merchendising manufacturer.. So, rather than standing out in the crowd [and being easy for folks to find]... I blended in... lol...

Narface: Fernandes Guitars sells a "Sustainer Kit" It's not to hard to install if you don't have an installer nearby. There isnt really any wiring to be done. A little routing and soldering and install the driver in the neck position.

Hey Joe Did you use the new Mesa Dual Rectifier ROAD KING when you were recording "Strange Beautiful Music"? The rhythm guitar on "Mind Storm" sure sounds like a ROAD KING. I'm sure you know alot more about amps than I do, but this new ROAD KING is the most incredible amp I have ever heard. After one minute my palms were begining to sweat, then I turned it up a little ,the walls were shaking almost as much as I was. After ten min. with this thing the hair was standing up on the back of my neck and my heart was pounding so hard I had to turn it off.I've played alot of high dollar amps like Bogner,Saldono,Rivera,Marshall Plexi as well as the other mesa dual and triple rect's and nothing even comes close to this thing.I can't get it out of my head, I mean I'm obsessed. This Road King is going to become a point of descention between my wife and I. The head alone cost $2500 and If I do manage to buy one without getting divorced over it she'll never get me away from it with her clothes on.

There are all these cool things I wanna throw onto my strat. Pickups, new circuitry, pickguard, tuners, Floyd Rose... (the list goes on!) The cost of all those plus $200 actually equals a brand new Ibanez RG550EX 0r 570EX. I love the pickguard on the 550, but I also love the neck inlays on the 570. Geeez. Maybe if I pull a miracle, I can buy both & stick the 570 neck on the 550 body! Ha! (Reality check...)

Shell, it wasn't too bad where I was until the end when Joe was throwing his picks and Jeff threw his sticks, some people from the back pushed forward which made it a bit squashed.
Re that jacket Joe was wearing at the beginning, did anyone with backstage passes photograph Joe in it at all, around the dog shows we usually see this fella that does some wonderful designs and puts them on leather and denim jackets, he has a book full of pictures that he will transfer onto your clothing, there were some very good Led Zep piccies, if I could give him some Satch stuff ,as long as Joe didn't mind, I'm sure he would add these to his collection and maybe we could have some of that jacket too. You don't have to go to dog shows to see him, he does have a website. I'll get some more info when we next see him.
Re Shepherd's Bush, if the Council gave Joe orders to be out by a certain time then he would have to adhere to that, some of these Councils are tough on some of their noise rules. I work for our local Council so I know what sticklers they are on some things. More's the pity.
Bye for now, Sharon

sharon - I don't know about any UK channels (I live in California), but Joe gets zero television coverage here in the USA today. He has been on MTV a few times in the early 1990s, though. He'll get the occasional commercial promoting a concert, but that's all.
ged - I imagine that the guitar is tuned like this: 1st and 2nd strings - both are high E strings tuned to a high E; 3rd and 4th strings - both are D strings tuned one whole step sharp to an E; 5th and 6th strings - both are low E strings tuned to low E...
Prog X - I listed the set list for the Amsterdam webcast in an old post of mine. Click on my "total posts" button and look back to the day of the show and you should see the list.

Was at the Birmingham show on 19th July...wow! Shame the venue was awful. Was my 11th Satch show in 12 years (1st one in 1990 was at the same venue but it was called the Hummingbird then!).
Joe was the best I've ever seen him, apart from the fact it was difficult to see Joe no matter where you stood!
must get practicing on my new left-handed Brian May Burns guitar..!

Joe,
Great new album. We attended the gig on Friday at the Academy in Birmingham, whilst we enjoyed the music we did notice a difference in the sound quality it was not up to the standard we had previously enjoyed at the NIA and NEC in Birmingham. We know it was the venue and not the music as we've seen you several times. Part of the enjoyment of seeing you live is to acutally to see you play and we could'nt see you. Any chance you can play at the NIA next time?
Lastly where was Stuart Hamm and will he tour with you next time?
Hope this does'nt sound like too much of a moan as we really enjoy your music.
AJP
