joe ~ it was really great meeting you again last night (medina). it was an evening i have only dreamed about. thank you for signing my mahogany JS6 (twice - for a total of 3 now). i hope you enjoy the hendrix mix cd i gave you (you seemed to be pleasantly surprised). it opens with a hilarious 30 second clip of an interview - the rest is mostly comprised of personally remastered live tracks from the fillmore, atlanta pop fest, isle of wight, and royal albert hall. i also threw in one great doors track for variety, and 4 selections from my band "mystic mint" - i hope you enjoy them - it means the world to me to know you have them in your possession. by the way, that was my wife sitting next to doug behind the mixing board - i noticed you took a double take when you saw her sitting there. she's an RN and rarely gets to cut it loose - i realized she was having a great time when i was helping her climb over the speakers to get there. i think i fell in love with her all over again! =) the show was amazing as always. i was at the bar singing the words to "catfish blues" during the hendrixy intro you did (which, by the way, a friend digitally recorded with some "stealth" ear pieces - hope you don't mind - apparently, not much else was recorded very well due to the volume - let me know if you want an mp3). i really enjoyed "time machine" - i've been wanting to hear that live since that record came out. and, your extended version of "friends" was phenomenal.

i didn't add my email address to that disc (i know you asked if it was on there)... it is bdahlberg@attbi.com

please drop me a line. thanks again for everything!

~bill

ianjf -- it's right that a lot of people think that Jimi hendrix is the best guitarist. But who is the best guitarist? I don't know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't tell that Satriani is better than Steve Vaî. I just tell that they are different! And I just tell that I prefer Joe than Steve.

Yaaay! I am so happy, Joe has decided to come to Sacramento. That is so awesome. I dont like having to drive to San Fransico or Reno for the shows, but I do anyways.

Anyways, Joe, if you read this, Thanks a whole lot and I cant wait till the end of January!!!

Narface - My personal fav. is the "SureClaw"... It works similarly to the "Tremsetter", but doesn't make things too stiff. They're available from www.stewmac.com - some still prefer the original tremsetters, but they all deserve a look.

Wireman!- Shut up! Didn't your mom ever tell you if you don't have anything good to say then don't say it at all.
goes for everyone else too. No one wants to come here and read crqppy opinions and besides..isn't this the TALk to Joe page, not the complain to Joe page? oh well. had to say that not that it's gonna change anything. ha ha.
MY VOTE! ooo...gonna have to edit..forgot what the score is up to..I'll put it in last. I Vote Time. Now that I've heard Time Machine, yeah,,tough call, but time is still my fav Joe song. Time Machine is just gonna have to be #2.

i can paly agian I can play again i can play again! my finger's still hurt but I CAn PLAY AGAIN! now if i can just figure out how to get my amp sound onto tape, I'll be set and ready to make a phnomenal album, then I can search the entire U.S.-no no no,,,might have to search the world, but naa there's gotta be someone somewhere around here my age who's kool... for band members. heheh ha ha ha yyyeeeaahh! I can play again!
oh, and not that anyone's reading, but I passed up that singing deal. it was on the heavy side and they use cuss words for lyrics...that's just not right. Still might go sing in another one...if there is another band to sing with around here. I'm really starting to think I should move out of Kansas, but...there's just something about the weather, the way people don't mind talking to strangers..and well I dunno, the thunderstorms out here are just kooler.

My two cents on the greatest guitarist....it is not Jimi HendriX! I mean..c'mon..gezz..that guy couldn't get on stage unless he was high. I have yet to find/ hear a live album by him that sounds good and he's in tune. (oh gee... breakin my own rule...don't say anything bad now.. hehehehe)
There is no greatest guitarist. There are several great and aweome players out there now of all ages and all that matters is that they play and everyone else listens. it doesn't matter if anyone likes it or hates it or if it even gets played on the radio. Music is created to entertain, like art, and it is art, so Vai already said what I could say about that. ;-) That's my take on it.

My dad's name is Dave.

score-Time Machine 3/ Time 3

OO Oooo! OOO! Almost forgot.. hahaha.. 21! I'm legal now! hA!
I like how Jonny votes. LoL

BAM!

hey..there's two of me in the chat room! hahaha weird.

Joe, I'm taking my 10 year old son Tim to see you tonight 12/6 at the Vic in Chicago. This will be his first concert. He bought an electric guitar three weeks ago and rarely puts it down. I know tonight will will be the greatest night of his young life. I attended your show two years ago and thought I have to turn my son on to your music. I'ts great to hear you live. The Live from S.F. DVD it also great. You are blessed with great talent Joe, continue to share it with the world as much as you can!

Hello there Mr. Satriani. I'm a very big fan of your music. I was curious how much time it takes for you to make a song? Does it just pop into your head and you have a song, or does it take a lot of work? Because i love playing guitar, but i don't seem to have what it takes to make beautiful music like you, and i was wondering if it is more talent, or more hard work, or what?

dreamboye ~ if you need a couple cd's of some amazing hendrix shows, that are of superior quality and sound, to change your rather negative attitude toward the guy, send me a message. i'd love to make you eat those harsh words. not looking for a fight - i just think you're dead wrong.

Zonin- uuhh. what do I say in this message?

I know I know....how about. I'm more dissappointed in Jimi than anything. I still have some of hs studio stuff and getting more when I find it. It's just, I can't stand drugs, and I can't stand how in everything I've heard how his guitar is louder than anything else (live that is). I just don't think he's the greatest because he didn't do anything like what Steve or Joe do, but yeah he's damn good. Forgot to say he is damn good. LoL so where's those CD's?
oh, and how come you didn't come see me in the chat room? i was still here. LoL ..well. one of me left way before the other.
22~ yeah. my fav number!

I see that Steve Vai is gearing up for the next of 7 cds to fill the box set. Steve entered comments regarding the possibility of guest being a part of this next cd....Well Joe are you going to be one of them? I sure would love to hear a studio grand slam preformed by the two of you. Peace!

Time vs Time Machine....Im gonna go with Time Machine, I am not as big of a fan of Time as most people, However I love the LISF version so much better than the CP version, I thnk its the really dry tone of the CP version that bugs me, but since there is no live version of Time Machine.......

TM 4 - T 3...I think

Hello Dave??????????? My wife wants to use your toilet.... my wife says your toilet is broken... don't worry I'll fix it.... do you like animals Dave? PAPA LAZAROU!!!!!!!

Anyway...

I vote for Time Machine. Dunno what the score is though

My band and I played a gig tonight... apart from all the words I forgot, all of the extra spontaneous verses and solos we added in, and the frankly wrong notes I played when I was on bass, hell yeah we rocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparantly my solos were cool. Any Satch fan would think, "Ok, but nothing to pete mulas/matt king/neil morgan etc" and rightly so, but it was fun. And improvised. It was videoed for a couple of big screens but I don't know if it was recorded at all. If so I will do everything to get my hands on the footage, and show it to you onvce I've edited it all down :)

El Heavy - A Megadeth fan I see.

I can't manage to play anything right when standing up anymore. Especially without warmup or any previous playing. Not going well.

Narface - Fender? I don't know anything about them. Offhand I can tell you about the rear rout moutn tremsetter. I can also say the single spring setter seems easy to install and adjust. Vai uses ones like those. Hipshot.

Joe, thank you so much for the show in Medina...there is absolutely nothing better than watching you from 4 feet away (I was the guy directly in front of you with the permanent smile on my face). I noticed that you seemed not satisfied with your sound right as you began "Flying". You shook your head and looked at Mike Manning. It sounded great to me, but of course I don't have your ears. Thanks again :)

Lots of laughs to Jeff Campitelli, when you walked on stage, you took notice of the very low ceiling at the venue and had a good chuckle about it. It certainly did seem like it was only inches from the top of your head.

Matt and Galen, you guys are a great addition, and you make it look so easy. I've never seen musicians have so much fun.....thanks guys

Also, I hope that poor girl in the front row who passed out from heat exhaustion is OK. Of course, it does'nt help to be wearing a heavy sweater when you are crammed together with so many people. Peace all......

PhryDom, thanks for the beer Bro'...lol

Joe, great show at the house of blues on 11/30/2002. I was 2 feet away from you by the front row. I'm a huge fan and have seen you numerous times. I've also been to CD signing sessions in the los angeles area.

Thank you for the wonderful music that you have given the world. Keep on writing and playing.

Take Care,
