hey Joe i just want to say that I am so sorry that someone had the nerve to steal Pearly from you. I would be outraged if somebody took any of my babies, and its like some people just dont ever understand that a guitar has a soul that you yourself as the player put into that guitar everytime you play it and losing it is like losing a part of you. dont worry Joe whoever took Pearly will get what they have coming cause the Lords of Karma will strike. again im deeply sorry about Pearly and really hope you find her and i know she misses you Joe. GOOD LUCK

Evbro - I recall Joe listing Django Reindhardt as one of his influences or inspirations. Something about how the guy lost a left hand finger but still went on.

greetings. i would first like to thank you for all of your recoprdings. i've found your approach to the instrument both refreshing and influencial through-out my life. furthermore, all of your metal students-skolnick, hammett and vai-have also been a great source of inspiration.

as a man of afro-caribbean background, i have to take exception to some of yopur remarks you made in april of 1993, in an interview conducted by kirk hammett for guitar world.

although i tottaly understand where you are coming from, i don<t believe that ice-t ever set out to promote violence and viliantism in his song cop killer, with his metal outfit body count.

i am the first to agree that their production was and remained weak. than again, i doubt than any record executive would have hired terry date, for instance, for a project in these pre-nu metal days.

i must refute your point that ice-t would " use that platform to spread a message like kill the police." i believe that statistics on the relationship between officers of the law, the justice systems and people of colour will be far more eloquent than i could ever be.

i strongly recommend your pick the iceman's autobio the ice opinion, where g\he has an entire chapter devoted to his ordeal with his label, the media and police officers.

" but body count was intended to reflect straight anger. it was supposed to be the voice of the angry brother, without answers..." " body count was an angry record. it was meant to be a protest record. i put my anger into it, while lacing it with dark humour..."

" at the very beginning of cop killer, i dedicate it to the lapd and to police chief darryl gates..." " my anger is clearly aimed at brutal police..." " the song was created to be a protest record- a warning, not a treat..."

" after the cops called this embargo against warner brothers, they moved into criminal activity. they sent death threats to warner brothers. they actually sent 2 bombs to the label...."

still not of this earth, natty

I tried listening to the Bodycount album the other day. I bought it when it first come out, years ago. I can't listen to that anymore. I can't even listen to Slayer anymore. Maybe I've grown out of heavy metal music. After listening to BodyCount, I have come to the only conclusion that is worth listening to, Ernie-C is one really bad-ass guitar player. Joe I really wish you could come to NC on your tour 'cause I would love to hear Crushing Day and the Crush of love. Later!

Jblaze1 - That would be cool. That wouldbe a something i'd guard with my life. I can't believe it happened twice! Rainforest and was it red donnie? And now Pearly. Disgusting. Absolutely.

Toadfish - You offered Joe your JS10th? The only way you would ever succeed in giving it to him would be mailing it without asking. Wouldn't Ibanez give him one for free if he asked? Well wait it's a limited model.

I guess the guy who stole Pearly wonīt get very happy with it... what should he do, sell it on eBay? Then heīs as good as dead... there are Satch Fans all over the world, so itīs almost impossible to sell it without getting noticed. I really hope he decides to GIVE IT BACK!

Joe and his axe have given millions of people pleasure - whoever has got it now can't do that with it, and certainly can't play like Joe. If you love Joe, as we all do, GIVE IT BACK

Well, if the person who stole the guitar only wants money he will be discovered.

However, I fear that if a "fan" managed to get that guitar...

'Cause unlike the other 2 guitars, which were stolen from his home and probably were stolen by people who didn't know what they were doing, any thefts in concert venues are committed by people who know what they are stealing, and at least have a general idea of the sentimental value of this stuff.

In any case, this blows. Why didn't they steal the 7-string? Best of luck Joe. Later.

JS CLONE: That's cool, I never heard that about the finger. He played jazz guitar in the 30s, and I just listened to some of his stuff and it was truly amazing and inspiring. I'd encourage all guitar players to check it out sometime.

jblaze1: Sorry to hear about your employment woes, I too am unemployed.

We live in a" right to work state", imagine that. The people who run our great state believe in trickle down economics, there is something trickling down alright, but it ain't money or jobs or anything else that keeps working people alive.

Very hard to get a fair wage in the south, they keep you hungry here so you will take what ever they offer you and be happy to get it.

Sorry to get all political on you but that's how it is here. I make $18 an hour here in Florida doing the samething I made $35 dollars an hour in Boston and N.J., plus 25% of my gross in addition to my pay in retirement and double time pay for all over time. You will never see this in Florida.

I think you would be the perfect person to protect Joe's guitars.

As a victim of crime myself, I can honestly say that the fact that Joe had his guitars stolen bites the big one. Why can't honest people who work hard and spend their own sweat for the things they have have them? Seems a little unfair to me. Anyone that would prey off of a person like that that they supposedly adore is not a real fan, end of story, and they quite frankly deserve to get their ass beat. But what would that solve? They'd still be the same piece of shit they always were, maybe a little worse. Joe, I'm sorry to hear that your guitar was stolen and I'll say a little prayer tonight that it is found soon. Try to have a good and safe rest of tour and not let this little incident weigh you down too much. Take care... --- Prog X ---
