Joe Great Job in LA!! I thought you and DT were the perfect complimentary line up.

I have a Satriani Tribute band and we all headed up from the SF bay area to check you out, and as always (4th liveSatch show) I was elated!

Check us out Joe... maybe someday you'll pop in and jam with us at a club!

Or even better, take our original music act on a G3 tour with you =)

Take care - Tommy Merry

andy of uk - i wish i could tell you what problems you're having with quicktime, but there is obviously something pretty wrong if you still can't see or hear it if you have plenty of bandwidth. does *all* quicktime not work properly for you (ie, try watching other streaming - not download- stuff from www.apple.com/quicktime/)? if so, you may have something basic that can be fixed and you can work with apple support on (or search google for other users who've solved similar problems). fwiw, i've had reports from people with pretty old computers and slow connections who still haven't had any problems tuning in/

Whojackafibby - hopefully in the next week i'll get to uploading more tour pix-- i've got a lot that have been sent over the past couple weeks, including a few that jeff c. just sent today :}

Tapper5 - On board vs remote effects. Well first i'll say for effects, i'm the last guy to use them. No delay, not even reverb.

For distortion though, I sometimes use a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone. That pedal can blow or rock and it all depends on the amp characteristics.

For instance, through Fenders, the pedal is crap. Clean, crsip sounding amps just come off as sharp and thrashy.

For a nice tone with a Metal Zone, get a warmer sounding amp like a Marshall. It can even do more modest distortions. For a more modest distortion type with a Metal Zone, overdrive the level on the pedal and take the distortion level down.

For on board amp distortion, I don't normally take to it but there are 3 particular brands which sound more than excellent to me. Tech 21, Gallien Krueger and Mesa Boogie. These are awesome, awesome amps. I am there are some more amp models which are great but personally these are the best i've heard.

wow just got back from Jones Beach. It was really a special night, I think all 3 acts pulled out all the stops and put on a great show for the fans. The thing I love about Jones Beach, is that the sound is always great there, and of course the great outdoor atmosphere. I was a bit surprised that a number of seats very empty tonight, but I think the poor wheather drove more than a few away.

Kings X: They only did about 30 minutes. They were very good. They really opened up the show well. I love Dougs voice, and Ty's very tasteful guitar playing.

SATCH:What can anyone say more than WOW. I was at G3 at the Beacon last year, and this show was even better. I think it was even better because the sound was better, and I dig the new material. "Midnight" was really amazing, I never heard it before, but its really amazing.

DT:I think the majority of the crowd really came to see them. The crowd really came alive when the band came on stage. I saw them in March, and for almost the same reasons this was better. The sound is much better in this bigger venue, and I liked what they did with the setlist. A couple of hightlights: Doug coming out and singing with James on Lines in the Sand, "The Spirit Carries On" is always a great live tune as well as "Pull Me Under" and "Solitary Shell". Oh of course the best was when Joe came out and jammed with the band at the end. It doesn't get better than two of my favorite acts playing a Rush tune like "working man"..

I want to thank all the musicians, the road crew, and the promoter for putting together such a special night for me to remember for a long time to come

Hi Joe I'm a new member from Iran I started listening to u 2 years ago ,when I bought my first guitar.I think that THE FORGOTTEN is one of the most beatiful melodies I have ever heard. I have tried to play its solo many times ,but its very hard to play.I have even slowed down it on a tape and its wonderful (the solo part). I hope to hear your new album (strange beautiful music) soon. By the way I have bought an IBANEZ RG 270DX recntly. your lover Ali Reza

Good morning all...

I have a question for any guitar tech's out there.....I'm replacing the stock humbucker in a Squier Fat Strat for a friend of mine, with an old PRS humbucker I've had for 10 years. I have the wiring diagram where it shows the placement of the black and white wires, but the PRS has a red wire also. What is the function of the red wire and what do I solder it to?

Webmaster Jon, I know I'm definately jumping the gun here, but has there been any talk of "evening with" tour dates?

Kinger: First Satch Experience - anyone remember that Speed Of Light is in the movie - Super Mario Brothers - this scene where they are sliding down a vent. way cool in a daggy kinda way. I bought the soundtrack!

Oh and I never said Up In The Sky was bad, its my absolute fave, just that noone else seems to hold it in as high regard.

NonSmoker - On some guitars, the red wire is to connect the rear pickup to the front pup is they have any sound configs together. For instance both pickups on or out of phase.

Hey Schiacciatore, that was my first satch experience as well... I bought the soundtrack and I thought: man, this is cool , this guys is doing a song without vocals, just guitar. And really cool licks in it. Then I went out and bought Surfing and the rest is history... lol
