Bush Abandons Push for Miers Nomination

WASHINGTON - Under withering attack from conservatives, President Bush abandoned his push to put loyalist Harriet Miers on the Supreme Court and promised a quick replacement Thursday. Democrats accused him of bowing to the "radical right wing of the Republican Party."

okey... when I log on to the Js site I click on live chat and then a screen pops up and on one side it says new beta chat and on the other it says old Java chat. At the bottom of the old java chat side it says enter now as gotta have joe. I click on it and it pops up a page saying it was not found. On the bottom of the new beta chat there is a couple of boxes that have numbers in them. It says Size: 550 x 400 enter. I enter but no one is in there but me. Am I doing something wrong here or is it just my computer? Please, will someone kind of help me. Thank you.

gotta have Joe

Clarky:Shite i dont like me,lol, that would make a pretty short audition for a fusion band eh..so Mr marchbank you like the idea...no.....NEXT,lmfao, i suppose i should be a little more detailed as to what i do & dont like about it, but i dont want to bore anyone on one mans viewpoint, i guess the main thing that rubs me the wrong way is the title jazz fusion, i mean, what is that?

Strange person-i play jazz sounding stuff & my friend plays virtuoso spoons

Strange response from strange person looking for strange music-ok now your catogorized, you play Jazz Fusion!

Strange person-eh but EH..i just played a 2 5 1 for 3 mins while my girlfriend let rip mr, i dont want no trouble...

Strange response from strange person looking for strange music-TO LATE shes a fuckin virtuoso time freak your now nominated to play at the biggest jazz fest you have ever seen..wear green socks, they,ll look great

PS dont forget the hat!

On Bending & Dynamics, i still wonder if Jerry Donahue has or SRV had steel hands, i mean gauge 13! ah well, back to my wimpy 8,s

PhryDom...I seem to remember reading that David Gilmour has the same sock habit. Must be an English thing? lol...

To anyone,

I was rummaging through a box of "this and that" that I had been storing for a few years and came upon a nice surprise ! I remembered that about 14 years ago, a guy I played in a band with owed me a little $$$. Having no actual cash he gave me a PRS humbucker that he had either taken out of his PRS, or it was the PRS replacement he had bought with the intention of putting it in his guitar. The box it is in has a label on the side listing the pu's they offered at the time. This one being an HFS II...whatever that means. There is a "T" stamped on the bottom of the pick-up, which I think means it's a treble pick-up. I was considering maybe putting it in my Strat's bridge spot. Peace, SD

Satriella, no problem, you're welcome! Also, do try not to entertain the idea that you are not worthy as a member 'cause "everyone else has done it all and you haven't"....that's not even slightly the way it is! haha. Talk 2 Joe hosts a massively varied bunch of people, and some know all there is to know about all things Joe, and some just want to make use of the facility where it's most appropriate to tell Joe how much he rocks!!

Also, don't be so pesimistic about your second goal - seeing Joe in concert. Joe is working on a new record right now and when it comes out he's going to want to tour to promote it......I'm almost certain that that tour will include some shows in the UK, and I'll definitely be going to at least one, 'cause I really need to see Joe play again! So keep your hopes up, 'cause the opportunity to see the master play will come around in good time!

Powerslave, I hardly see how Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Adrian Legg, or even Robert Fripp are considered by the average person as "millionaire guitar players".......yeah I agree with the first two, but Robert Fripp is the most succesful guest ever to have graced the G3 stage. I'm not talking about success in terms of the response to him in a G3 context, but I'm talking his success in his own right as an individual musician. Robert Fripp has enjoyed more record sales than any of the others and is the most "mainstream", but yeah, the "millionnaire" thing is questionable! haha.
SVK, you're welcome! haha, you should have just asked....."Oi! What does '962' mean?!"....hehe :-p

Also, those figures on death tolls are really interesting....strange how the death toll of Iraqi people hardly ever gets a mention!

mikesb, YEEEESSSSSSSS! Thanks so much for posting the link about the BB King tour......"Farewell UK Tour"? Oh that's it, I'm gonna cry :-( I have got to see one of those shows!
gotta have joe, yeah logging in to the new beta chat is right. The size in numbers things is just the size, in pixels, of the chat window. Don't worry if there's nobody in there.....it's nothing wrong with your computer....it's just 'cause there really is nobody in there!
slanshroom, bear in mind that guage 13 strings aren't so hard to play when they're tuned down to E-flat. Don't get me wrong, 13's are still way too hefty for me, although I can handle them on an acoustic, just about!
my cat is sleeping on my lap as I write this.....damn she's put on weight!

Bahduh: hi.....Happy Bday to your son! I'm still in Europe so I've not been able to phone him, maybe after I'm home & settled.

Satriella: "The Traveler"is my favorite song, I am the Traveler......I just photographed 3 Vai shows in the UK & now I'm in Holland on holiday. Quite a Journey......This is my 2nd tour, last year G3 in Sweden and Jeff Beck in London.

Slanshroom: Have a great time at VAi Roy!! Who cares if your covered in Dust? Just as long as you are there......that's all that counts. ;-D Try not to miss Eric's set if u can (starts @ 7pm), he's amazing!! He'll usually be hanging out after the show so say hello to him (hi for me too!) He's really nice as is the rest of his band: Levell (Bass) & Patrick (Drums).

Capt Steve: I have a Nikon D70s (digital)and 2 film cameras the Nikon N75 & Pentax K1000 (manual) along with an assortment of Lens and a new monopod and laptop. Sorry I forgot to answer you........just been a lil busy. ;-)

NOPPA: High five to You!! Steve Morse for G3! he's no millionaire, that's for sure. So nice to hear from you!!

SteveeT: LMAO.......that post was too funny to Zenfish. Do I have those keys on my keyboard?! lol

Hey Joe! just sayin hi from across the water in the UK. Was wonderin if youll be comin to do a tour here some time in the future. Id love to see ys live in the flesh! It'd be awesome especially lookin from the DVDs. As youve probably noticed I dont play guitar, I play drums (Jeff Rules!), but Im a huge guitar lover. Probably the only drummer in the world this fanatical about guitar. Im a huge fan of your music, biggest one I know actually, and all my mates are gutarists. It really speaks to me, what your tryin to do in your music, and theres always a song to fit every mood i might be in. Since I don't no that much about playin guitar I listen to the piece of music rather than the song, if you understand me. Keep up the good work, I know the new album will rock! Hope to see you soon!

Bahduh- don't want to get into political discussion as this is a music forum, but IMHO Tony Blair = the antichrist. And that is putting it mildly! He is a dangerous man... he has done more damage to the future of special needs education than you can imagine... And as this is the area in which I teach, you can imagine why it is so close to my heart? In regards to the smoking issue- why was his Labour Party manifesto simply never : "We like to sit on the fence..." Then he could have been excused for everything...

Sorry all, never meant to rant! Won't mean much to those of you who have never had to suffer Mr TONY SODDING BLAIR as a leader!
