Well, everyone, I'm going away for the weekend. I'm spending today and tomorrow with a few friends, and then we're all going to see Aerosmith at The Hollywood Bowl on Sunday. It's gonna be a great concert. I'll be back here on Monday, I guess. Behave... ;-)
Karma burger - That tribute album isn't advertised on this site because it's not an official Joe Satriani release.
ovation1 - It's nice to see GHS becoming your SOTDs...hehe. Awesome.
death cube k - I'll download the song right after I'm done here...
Rocket1 - It is Stu, not boo.
...Austin...

listening to "thinking of you" -- there is something magical about this song. seriously. something about the way this song is put together is just breathtaking... "time machine" is slowly becoming one of my favorite albums of all time. some amazing talent went in to creating that song. SOTD: "thinking of you!"
for those of you attending the concert at the pavilion tomorrow, email me at mooben@aol.com subject: satriani concert. if you wanna chill, and study up on your satch (listen to music) a couple friends and i will be there early. i know you will be there, megaboyd.....

Hi all, Joe.... can anything be done on your part to remove the 21 rule to your show in MN on Dec. 5th? Or anything to make exceptions to the rule like, unless accompanied by someone over a certain age? P.S. If you make it so that you had to ba accompanied by someone of a certain age.... say 35.... that would be awesome. PLUS you would make more money, the place would still be able to sell their booze. I dont know, I am just an outraged fan because I have wanted to see you for so long, now I cant because of the venue. Maybe on the next G3 tour come back to Northrop auditorium like you did in '97... I think is when it was.

In response to JS CLone 1, yes , I totally agree with you that Joe tends to be more relaxed than Steve, that Steve goes completely mental when he has a guitar in his hands. I mean you can see it , can't you. They both love their music, and you can see that dude. They are the most devoted musicians in the world. Noel Gallagher is completely sh*t. I mean he never practised when he was a kid. Most people give Malmsteen loads of cr*p, I think that that's unfair. He practised as much as the other two, and has a great music taste, Bach, Paganini (I have the 24 caprices), Hendrix and Blackmore. People should give him more respect.
In response to Clarky, hw many times have you been to see Vai, it was my first tme last December. He was off his rocker. It's hard to believe that on one night with Dave Lee Roth, he broke five strings and two straps.

For Adun: I always play pool... before AND after exams... sometimes even during it... I hope my parents don't read this... lol BTW, I got Disco Stu too.
r6r: That's such a bad joke it's almost funny LOL
Clarky: LOL on Paddington Bear for G3... I say we bring in Winnie the Pooh and Big Mama Bear too...... with Goldilocks on trombone... LOL
Did anyone hear that Hannibal-joke that Jay Leno told some time ago? "What does Hannibal Lecter call Michael Jackson? The other white meat!" ROFL
OK, too much fun... you can tell it's late over here. G'nite everyone, see ya' later. :)

Hey Rich(JSC1) your edge tremolo could be breaking strings if there are any sharp edges on the saddles. If you have done ant sanding on the saddles this can cause breakage (a tech told me this). I've got the LoTRSII on my S guitar, contrary to what every one says, it stays in tune fine (basically is an original floyd in design) and doesn't break strings. Even when I'm practicing a lot of shred picking, whammying etc, it doesn't break strings. The only thing I have ever done to break strings is do a bend of two whole steps then whammy up about 3+. That'll bust a high "E" string any time. Also, I'm using nine's, so if I can't break strings, something must be going wrong with your edge trem. Hopethat helped

"The other white meat"......LMFAO!!!!
death cube k, how do you like the rolled edges on the neck of that Joe Perry Les Paul? I tried one once at a Guitar Center, I loved it....but alas....I had no cash on hand. Very nice guitars Bro', I like that Jackson too.
I think the new saying should be..."It's Matt, not Stu".....lol

LegolasfromMirkwood is such a cool name. What about FrodofromtheShire? Or GandalffromValinor? Ah, maybe not. By the way, on the Satch/Vai tribute album, the plyers are spot on. The best track has to be George Lynch's version of "Shy Boy". He was and probably still is a monster player. Great vibrato and picking technique. I bought it 6 months ago. Some time in April. Great record. Are any Satch fanatics any Lord of the Rings fanatics like LegolasfromMirkwood and me? The film f&Łking kicks @ss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just been listening to Slayer's "Decade of Aggression" album. Kerry King and Jeff Hannemann are a master line up. Can't believe that it's nearly five years since Marty Friedman left Megadeth.

Dragonchild: The other white meat!!! How about this one:
Every morning Michael Jackson picks his nose...
and in the afternoon he gets it fitted.
McDave: Aye, what about the Matt Clones? What about Matt not Stu? After all, Matt has recorded more CDs with Satch than Stu has. (The Extremist & SBM vs Crystal Planet). Obviously I'm not talking about cameos or live performances, considering I've never been to one...
Clarky: gotcha, but what is the purpose of such a (seemingly) stupid chord? You don't have to answer that if you don't want.
Well guys, gotta go. I've got an exam in 2 hours (Saturday arvo - what is the deal?!?)

LegolasFromMirkwood I am a fan of both the great Joe Satriani and Lord of the Rings - I read the book a couple years ago before I found out that it was going to be a movie. Did you know that Middle-Earth is a REAL PLACE? Tolkien based it on an area he grew up near somewhere in England - I forgot exactly where. Just a little bit of information for you! SATCH ROCKS!

Joe,
I am a young guitarist set to become something, I believe. I can't exactly see how one attains virtuoso status. I have enough money to pursue guitar to a good extent, but there's only so far that I can go that way. Do you have any suggestions as to how I may be able to get into Berkley School of Music in Boston or somewhere else I can learn the technical elements of the guitar as well as the modern approaches people are taking to record et cetra given my limited financial background and my isolation in the mountains of Colorado. The whole process seems quite mind boggling right now, and I can't see how it's going to work, but I'm putting very many hours into it. There is nowere to get professional lessons, so I've spent many hours basically just playing. I need the fundamentals to even consider becoming as they say (about you) a virtuoso or even a mediocre musician. Any suggestions that you may have would be appreciated as I am going into this heart and soul.
Thanks
To all the loyal Satriani fans on this board, sorry about this. It's been a late night of looking around the internet for options, and asking questions. I may be completely off base asking this question here, but It's my only chance.
