Hello Satchos! I think Dweezill Zappa should be on the next G3. He combines a little of every thing that's good about guitar players, technique, tastefullness, melodicism, and wackiness. On top of that he sounds very original, and has great instrumental pieces ready to go. JSCLONE1: I agree, SBM sounds like extremist, especially "New Last Jam" with all the banjo in it. I actually hope Joe does an album that takes the electronic rythmic ideas of EOC and marries them with the "normal" guitar sounds of Crystal planet. The album would have similar production to "Until we say goodbye" with all of the cool electronic noises behind normal songs.

ocps470 dweezil would be great for G3, he took lessons from vai when he was like 13 and played better than him on stevie's spanking on joes garage.
js clone 1 i love paul gilbert, but buckethead has inspired my to no end, as for looking retarded with "GnR " have you seen axl and his new plugs(hair peice) yep axl is bald , so i guess ol BH fits the circus vibe of the new GnR.
T.O.E. ethn that issue od guitar player(title"youth quake")does not have any unmasked pics of BH. any how BH rips

Joe, Greg and Jeff - Thanks for taking the time at your meet and greet after the show in PNC New Jersey to meet with me (Bob) and my son Brian. I am Cliff's friend and I told him you all said hello. We are all actually off to the Dominican on Saturday for a week. My son really enjoyed the show and is now going for lessons. Joe, you simple words of "keep practicing" really impacted him. I hope you guys enjoyed Tokyo and I hope to see you in December if you play NY.
All the best,
Bob

Phrygian Dominant: yeah a friend of mine who shares some drum duties with me has little theoretical knowledge or speed etc yet has so much feel it's amazing. Whatever he touches turns to gold. Music is so strong inside him, it's bursting out whatever he plays. (Except swing and jazz.) He picks up a guitar and plays the most amazing drop d melodies (they ARE impressive), then pulls out an amazing "loop" on the drums. He's not strong in technique, it's finesse that makes him look and sound so awesome. It's as though he's made it to the point where he and the instrument (whatever it is) are as one...whoops I rave on easily...

drafter37, no worries. We all have different opinions on music besides Joe's. That's what makes the world go 'round! My husband wouldn't be caught dead at a Korn show. lol! Glad your wife had a good time :)
JON, thanks for putting a word in to Jeff. It would be fantastic to see some, um, what was he, red?, on here again. Jeff rocks!!
Billy COBHAM people!! lol!

Banana Mango for champ...at least that has a decent drum track (2nd one obviously...) plus I don't think much about Bells. I suppose it's just Satch going off over a 1 bar repeated thingy. True he goes VERY off (new grammatical no-no!) but there's no melody, no form, only a rhythm with chops over the top. Albeit good chops. 'nana has the best Part1, the bridge just makes me so content...I know it's not in there, but I reckon Power Cosmic 2000 beats them all.

Hey Joe! nice shorts! Heh heh heh! Hoe the heck could you play guitar in a jacket that big and floppy?
I've seen a Death Cube K CD in a second-hand shop. Didn't realise it was a Buckethead anagram!
nah, Michael Jackson's balcony suspended baby for G3...

Hey Joe,
Seven string guitar, hell, I can't even play a six string guitar!!!!
My 8 yr old son and I went to your concert in Pittsburgh, on Sept. 7. We enjoyed it immensely. He loves playing the guitar. We sent him to guitar lessons, and he went for about a year., then he quit. We were upset about that because he does have talent, even the guitar instructor was inpressed by him. I don't know what happened. He says that he might go back, and we were hoping that if I took him to your concert that might give him the incentive to go back. But so far, no luck. Any suggestions???? Now my youngest who is four, wants to go. So the next time you come to Pittsburgh, all three of us will be there.
Thanks,
Scott "Pipewrench"
PS - do you have any idea as to why WDVE plays your songs during commercials and/or advertisements - they never play the whole entire song?????!!!!!!

Hi, Joe! 21 days 'til the show in NYC...the excitement is more than I can bear!! I had "Surfing..." on yesterday and was going crazy to "Crushing Day" thinking,"How could Joe say this song sounds '80's??" I don't know Joe...that song rules and is timeless in my opinion-one of my faves on that CD! I've been wondering if it's possible for a writer like yourself to compose a song that you don't like later on (not that that's the case with "Crushing Day" per se)? Also I wonder if you can listen to your own musical creations and really enjoy them, or will a part of you always critique your own work? It would be a shame if you couldn't really love your own stuff, but just knowing how moving it is for others would have to bring immense joy! You have a gift for bringing out emotions and eliciting specific thoughts with your music! I'm curious if that's something you strive for and practice in some way, or is that just the by-product of conveying your own thoughts and feelings? Either way, it's so awesome! Song of the Day..."Down Down Down"-incredible blues. I'd love to see more of the style you did on "Joe Satriani"-the sounds are so clean and detailed. I'd also LOVE to see "Luminous Flesh Giants" in concert!! Whoooo-psych!

AUSTIN - Thanks for the suggestion, we may give that a try. Besides, there's not many places to hide a bus in that location. We saw Joe there in May, 2000 (my first Joe concert). We actually managed to get second row, it was quite a treat. Didn't get as good of seats this time, but I'd go even if we had to sit in the balcony!! Thanks Again! ONLY TWO MORE DAYS!!!

Hey Joe,
Hope the tour is going great so far. I would've liked to take my daughter to see you, but the nearest show will be at the Orbit Room in Grand Rapids & the ventilation system is practically non-existent there and would likely trigger my daughter's asthma with all the smoke, etc. Although we live in the West Mich. area, we had tickets to see you years ago with the G-3 tour that included Kenny Wayne and was to take place at the World Music Theater(an outdoor venue in the Chicago area), but when my brother pulled up to the gate, we were informed that the show had been moved up a few days as well as moved to a smaller venue. Major disappointmet for all !!!!! My brother, Tim and I have had the opportunity to see you before, in fact, I've had the pleasure many times, but it would have been a great family memory for my daughter. On October 13 of this year, we lost Tim to kidney cancer. He & I use to play guitar together alot. We both have Ibanez acoustic guitars. It broke my heart that the one item I had the most "heartstrings" attached to could not be found when we went to empty his house. It wasn't until another brother of mine was disassembling the waterbed Tim made that his acoustic guitar was found in a secret compartment of the pedestal, along with Tim's electric guitar. My daughter also plays guitar, so we will try to let a piece of Tim live on through his guitars. He was a great fan of yours. Your music was an inspiration to him to keep on playing. I apologize for getting so long winded. I just wanted you to know that you've made a definite positive difference in the lives of many through your music. Best wishes for the rest of the tour and always.

Megaboyd - I'll still take Gilbert over anyone for G3. Buckethead just is on his own for live. G3 is 3 guys coming together for music. I just can't see Buckethead doing that whilen still remaining Buckethead.
Joe definately needs to change his set. He did with the new SBM tour and I thought it was great. I'd still love to see the old 1980's early 90's sets he used to play with all the songs people request.
Memories, Back to Shalla Bal, Time Machine, ... so many great tunes Joe NEEDS to bring back.
Tobes of Ethn - huh? Me?
Webmaster - Only 5 voting answers? Not 9? One involving Joe's albums and which Joe's next album would be desired to resemble which of his previous albums?
