Webmastah... would it be possible to put a "webmaster's messages" link at the top, beside Joe's? A lot of times when I show up here after a few days away there are 15-20 new pages to view. Don't get me wrong, I love you all :O) but sometimes you just want to cut to the chase, this would be a great addition, imho. Also, is there an FAQ about formatting on this board? IE: for links & bold text etc, what is the tag structure up in here? Thanks.

PLUM LOCO - Rik is THE MAN, eh? Technically he is one of the best. Back "in the day" we all wanted to be as technically proficient as Rik, we all scrambled to learn Midsummer's Daydream. Thunder Seven is still a very solid album, even to this day. (IF you can take the high vocals, which I can). A professional guitar player friend of mine (who will be playing my Wedding) was over last week for dinner, I'm always trying to suggest stuff to him that's a little challenging, when I mentioned M's D he said "well, I don't really remember it that well.." & then proceeded to play it nearly flawlessly, he did the same (after a quick retuning) with Bron-Yr-Aur (one of my all-time favorite Led Zep instrumentals) dude is just amazing. If anyone is interested in some local (well it is to me anyway) classical guitar tunes, check out my bud's band, the CGQ (Canadian Guitar Quartet) at their site: http://www.cgq.on.ca/

I think I'll go & crack out Thunder Seven now, just for old time's sake, Little Boy Blues here I come.

smooches,

chocoholic- yeah i seem to be better- just came off the penicillin yesterday, doing well. I've been recently teaching my self to juggle with 3 balls- exciting stuff ;)

I'm playing bass guitar in my music teacher's operatic society tonight and every night until saturday (inclusive, with a matinee on saturday). We're doing Fiddler On The Roof. I'm getting paid £150 which I'm quite chuffed about- I know it's not much, if you think that it's £25 a night, but i think it's pretty good. And it's quite fun. But I have to learn some harsh basslines- wish me luck ;)

ovation - top man... that makes 999 to go... lol lol... don't worry bro... I'll be shouting from the roof tops when I'm done.. it's almost been a year in the writting and I'm still not done... admittedly I've had a few very large dissruptions to my schedule - moving house, prepping for a DC tour, prepping for Jemfest UK - which I guess all combined took a good 4 - 5 months of productive writting time out of this year.... still.. I'm back into it now... I guess two songs to go then it will be time to hit the studio....
kinger - Radio Gladsaxe have asked me to send them a CD of my music to broadcast... they want 5 to 7 songs.... I'm thinking of sending them the five 'sketch recordings' of my new album....
r6rocker - lol... if Nigel Tufnel says that Dm is the saddest of all keys, then it must be...lol
death cube - aahh my new 7.... I'm still waiting... they had to rebuild the fingerboard because the guy they sub-contraced the job to goofed it..... last I heard, the body is in Florida and the neck is in Michigan getting the in-lays sorted..... wow.. I bet the strings are really tight...lol..

Sharon, this is sooo funny. When I said Joe was shaking Fruit Loops in his face, I meant a box of breakfast cereal. However, I agree with you, anything Joe wants to shake in my direction would be o.k. too. LOL!!!!!

Ovation1, wish I could play Joe's music at work. That would be sooo cool. Instead we have to listen to whatever stuff is piped in through satellite radio. Some days it's not to bad, but some days I'd rather stick hot nails in my eardrums. Thanks for the suggestions for the show.

r6rocker, I remember those satin suits. LOL! Wonder if JOE ever wore one?

Dave, how bout we just wear our Satch shirts and parade around in out underwear to get ppl's. attention. LOL! I have Satch IN my car, ON my car, IN my house, IN my locker at work, IN my bag I carry at work - hell, I even gave pictures of me & Joe to my family & friends so he can be displayed in their houses too! At this point, I'm almost stalkerish! If you really want to get crazy, go to www.stickerjunkie.com & get some Satch stickers made up and stick them on everything in site! lol! And NO, I haven't done that yet, but it has crossed my mind. lol! It's not only Joe's music that means that much to me, it's Joe as a person. Anyone who's ever met him can testify that he is warm, kind, humble, ect....just a fantastic human being. His music is an extra added bonus :)

Clarky Thanks for all the help, i'll get there eventually. DragonChild You asked a question about favourite songs of Crystal Planet and Flying In A Blue Dream right? Well i'd say my fave of CP is...tricky one....they're all good....but i think i do like Ceremony...it was either that or Lights Of Heaven, but Ceremony is just so atmospheric, my favourite off FIABD would have to be Flying In A Blue Dream itself of course mainly due to the outstanding solo! Im about half way through learning it at the moment, maybe i'll get it finished when Keith Richards pops his clogs...(never) ......Joe Rules.....

dragonchild- I agree with the resemblance of Joe and Jerry Seinfeld (Nicholas Cage too). A friend of mine who lived in New York for a while. Anyway, I showed him a picture of me and Joe and he said, "that guy's from New York."

I'm not sure what that meant, but apparently Joe resembles a lot of people, from New York.

Chocoholic: Rick Mayal is very funny, even with the Black Adder material.

JSClone1 - I have to agree with you on the Rubina issue, now that it's become an old subject... That song changed my approach to playing guitar from the very minute I first listened to it. It is one of those life changing events for me... I'm glad we all get to say this to Joe. - hope he hears us ;-)

Michelle: You nailed it again, re: Joe. I will never forget my experience meeting Joe. I've met quite a few "famous" musicians, (never had a bad experience with any of them), but Joe Satriani, the person, will always stand out in my memory. He is a great person. How many others would say that it's a privledge to sign autographs night after night, one after another. He really loves it! He truly loves his fans.

I am having a problem with mode scales! I understand what they are and stuff, but I don't know when to use then. I heard that each has a different sound character to it (ie jazzy, spanish type, rock, country...). So which is which? Thanks!

Axmanjr: it seems you came to the right place at the right time! Keep your eye on Clarky's posts, I think he's heading towards modes pretty soon. But as a taster, if you already know what they are, play them, get familiar with them, and decide what they mean to you - why take someone else's word that phrygian sounds kinda Spanish when you might think it sounds like something else ;-)

Good luck, Dave

Linda & Harry Brett. best of luck with getting produced. have you looked into buying your own cd recorder and producing yourselves.? it would be worth looking into, as well as the government copyright site. I would love to here your guitar work, as well as many here. We have uncovered so many great players out there. If your are able to stand the tough touring life(some of us can't) you should be right up there with the top people. Do you have a full band ready at your disposal? if you do, there are planty of opportunities with starting your own show. Look to fairs and functions to play for, if you don't like the club scene. Find a catchy name and stage show idea to get it started, and your off. Joe: I have been trying to print out bio's for steven and I, and have problems with my limited software. I did manage to get the pictures from the Hubble on a few cd lables, and they are awsome.!! Break a leg at the "Bone Bash." wish i could go, but I have school. Say high to maneketti for me. I used to go to his uncles music store(now closed) back in the day. Peace
