Death Cube:I,m on an up curve bro happy t say,was a lil rough a while back, but it comes with the flow, cant avoid some things. On my feet again & at it,have all a man could ask for,so yeah,no complaints here apart from getting my fingers around this last track, lol,How r you?

Mikesb - That waas absolutely hilarious and right on the mark!! I have Thermo next fall. I am not looking forward to it at all. I freaking hate chemistry. All the entholpy and entropy crap. More stuff I'll never use. So what kind of eng do you do?

Pitch no 8 The DVD is off the hook!!

Steve T - Eric Clapton. Maybe it's the slight, and I emphasize slight age difference between us but Clapton just never did it for me. My parents are young, I'm 37 they are 55 and 56, so I grew up listening to all of the 60's stuff. Plus I never liked his tone. I know i'm going to blasted for that but ... Anyway my $.02

Zenfish,

Maybe my knowledge of French, or lack of it has misguided my interpertation of what you've said to beedoo.

My apologies if I have not understood you....

When will we hear music of yours to enjoy?

Peace, Love & Happiness!

Civgeek, CIVIL of course, is there really any other kind lol!! I worked in pure design for only one year, the rest of my career has been strictly project management and I gotta tell ya, civil geeks make the best project managers... That is cuz we civil engineers deal with quantities, theories etc that we can actually see and feel not that entropy enthalpy "black box" crap. As a result, we civies are more down to earth and have way way more common sense than chem, elect and computer engineers. Mech dudes are ok, once more a touchy feely discipline.

Hi Steven, no problem, after much practice and failed attempts I have FINALLY mastered the fine art of posting links!!!! We have to go up to London tomorrow on the train to get some guitar presents / bits and pieces, looking for a new stomp box!! I think if we just assume that everyone will be racing around like selfish gits we won't be disapponted, what do you think? I'm getting some pretty geeky presents for Christmas this year!

Steevee T, your French is pretty damn good for a Yank considering your second language is Spanish. Man I wish my Spanish was as good as your French!!! I think we ALL better learn some Mandarin PDQ!!!

I agree somewhat with the "touch my soul statement" however i recognize that our soul does in fact change from our early days of discovery until our jaded senile years!! therefore I have become more compromising and open to talents that may not have fazed me at all in my earlier years. We also have a tendency to hang on, sometimes apologetically, to our early heroes, those that truly burned themselves into us early on. In my case, i am all to often too complimentary to the works of Malmsteen and my all around fave Gary Moore. That's just the way it is, can't change that.

civgeek,

I use to cop EC's Strat sound, still like it, but grew out of it!

Once Jimi Hendrix died, Eric Clapton ruled the Guitar World for a short while (in certain circles)....he was called slowhand, God....Santana was probably the only other Guitarist that could compare during that period. Try to imagine a world before masters like Satch, Vai, EVH, Yngwie and all the others that created the word Shred. Jimmy Page, albeit a genius in several ways...his treatment of blues....blaah! Rain Song-Genius!

Currently, new, EC...I don't bother with, his blues stuff on Layla...some of the tastiest blues guitar licks to this date (IN MY OPINION).

I now favor a JS Ibanez sound & Les Paul Custom w/ DiMarzio's...Satch uses a EC/Strat rhythm sound on a couple of his earlier recordings.

Peace!

mikesb,

It's funny, when I was in my teens I was much more close minded about many things, music being one of them!

Senility....what a concept....now, what did you say again! lol!

To prove my open mindedness...I'd like to go on record, and say....I listen to Satch way too much everyday .... cause....he's got so many great tunes, tones & taste....that Satch has replaced every guitar Hero I've ever had...INCLUDING HENDRIX....the creative genius that he was... in his way too short of a career!

Thanks for the license to use French...I thought I mis-read Zenfish...maybe I did!

Peace!

Stevee T - Cant remember if I mentioned it but I checked out your site and it is great!!! I love the music too. If you have chance, have a listen to a few of the covers I have done by going Here or Here. There is a song on there called Blowout and it is eventually going to have vocals on it. If you compare it to my track on Satchurated Feedback you will notice it is a little (!!!!!) bit heavier. Hope you enjoy it!!!

Happy Sunday Satchland !!

Well...I had a first at our gig last night. I broke two strings almost simultaneously....my D went and then the B followed a split second later ! I was playing Gilmour's ending solo on "Comfortably Numb"......actually the very end of it...so it was'nt too embarassing....lol. We decided a while back to make our band a power trio and it's worked out wonderfully. Theres so much less stress and so much more freedom of expression for me personally......I'm finally at a "happy place" with my life in music :)

mowlie_2000,

I remember going to your site cause of your work on the T2j CD when I first joined this site, and was very impressed with your tunes.

Now, after checking your site again...Gary Moore's tune very nice blues guitar you're playing there (really digging in)...who's doing the singing on all the tunes...yourself?

I listened to a bunch more, but there's a freshly Roasted Chicken basted in Merlot sitting on the table. mmmmm it smells good!

I'll catch up with you in a little while!

Bon Apetite!

IUMA charts
hard rock - 9
heavy metal - 10
prog rock - 8
instrumental - 22
over all - 131

wow... three top 10's.....

for all you guys that helped me to get such high rankings...
thanks.... this really makes me feel all warm inside...
and it totally blows me away..... it really does...
once again... thanks guys....

Pitch No 8 - ha... oh course... Lamb Lies Down.... lol....how could I forget such a classic....

Yes cd's... another couple of great cd's are: Going For the One and Relayer.... superb stuff....

Yessongs is one of my favourite cd's of all time....

ocps - I'd be blown away if Vai got to hear my stuff.... even if he said "not bad... 5 out of 10.. better luck next time".. just to know that it got to him...
personally I doubt it'll ever actually get to him unless one of his AR guys decided it was worth signing....
Although my album is instrumental and the lead instrument is guitar, I'd like to think that the album is more compositional and that the music without the lead guitar is interesting and powerful in it's own right.... it definately sounds nothing like Satch or Vai... in fact I'd like to think that it sounds like nothing else....
the only guys in t2j that have heard the demo version of my album are Maire, Yoda [cos he's in me band.. lol], Mikey and Mr Nick... Mowlie also got a glimpes of the final mixes of a couple of tracks... those guys know what I really sound like... not the IUMA jams... but me actually putting in some effort.. lol....
but is it good enough for Vai to sign up?..
I can only hope and pray...

thanx for offering to buy a copy....
when that album is done I'll be shouting from the roof tops.. lol..
and I'm on the home strainght now...
I just checked out mix: 01 of the The Baptist....
the snare is a touch low, the hats are a touch high, the strings need a tiny nudge up, the ryhthm guitars need a tiny nudge down and in two places I need to pull the lead guitar up a touch..
hopefully, mix:02 will be the one...

then I get to record The Rape of the Sabine Women....

alexandre / delfino - bro's... like I was saying to ocps [above].... I can see the finish line.... I'm close now....
one song to mix, one song to record completely, two songs to mend [re-mix and tidy up here and there], master it.. sort out the art work, and I'm done.....

I'm getting quite excited now that the end is in sight..

zen - a jam some day would be fun... I've jammed with a few t2j'ers now... I always look forward to it and enjoy it.... we'll find a way.....

I love Steve Howe's approach... although I'm not a big fan of his tone, it totally suits the overall sound of the band so I'd never complain about it....
there's something about the solo on the Yessongs version of Yours is no Disgrace... I can't put my finger on what it is exactly... but I just love the way it flows... and the wah work is just so amazingly cool...

steeveT - Rob is signed to Favoured... Ricky is not... Ricky's cd's can be got from his own website... and he is definately worth checking out... he's a very cool player.... creates some very nice grooves....
they are both very very good.. worth looking into...
personally I prefer Ricky's music.. that hits the spot for me..
but each to their own... so check them both out...

I know about Satch 'backing out' of the really tricky parts live'.. but then most players do.. even Pretrucci has from time to time..
I guess the need to keep the overall performance solid out weighs getting bogged down with the details and exposing yourself... so long as the overall contour and vibe is maintained then I guess that'll do...
in the interests of not making a tit of myself, I guess I'll have to do the same... lmao...

I am well known for going our on a limb and playing right on the ragged edge....
for me... that's the only place to be....

but in all honesty... I've never played something as difficult as the Baptist ever before live on stage....
I'll find a way... lol..
that's what Clarky's do the best.... lmao..

there are moments on Shredz that are much more demanding, certainly there are licks with far more pace, and right the way through it's definately more expressive than anything from my IUMA collection...

you'd be surprised when you get to hear Shredz... it has many angles to it... it passes through a great many dynamic places... from very heavy right down to very light... and sometimes those two dynamic extremities are side by side....

- black often appears most dark along side white -

wife is back to her usual self..... lol... so I'm back in the shit again... lmao...

I don't mind you posting my address.... the more folks that check out and get into my playing the happier I get.... thanx...

I just hope there is a little future in this for me...

Namm / Mikesb - so if I fart in New York... does it rain in China?
slansh - I've not started working on David's music yet... I'll leave that 'till after Xmas.... between now and Xmas I'm going to try to mix the Baptist and complete the Rape....

I think I fit it all in 'cos I'm stupid... lol... from time to time things do clash and then something has to give..
most often it's my sanity..

[b] Mikesb]/b[ - Dude that was awesome!! I was a carpenter for 20 years before went back to school. So I agree w/ you on the Black Box crap. And what is with Fourie transformations? It can't exist because it's an imaginary number BUT it affects your circut. What the F&*#!!. The band I'm in has a CE, an ME, an EE, and a math prof. Talk about a geek fest. lol We were talking about tuning the drums the other day and it got into a big long discussion on the harmonic resonance series and what coefficients should be in the Diff Eq equation to make them sound the best. If there had been a chalk board... lol

I can't wait for your CD to be released... I remember listening to The Rape... awhile ago and I was pretty impressed... What I liked about it the most was the fact that it's not like most of the music these days ... how should I say this ... Bands these days want to captivate the listener in the first few seconds, so they have to deliver right from the beginning - and I guess that's how the record companies want it too so when that 16 year old kid puts on the headphones at the listening boot at HMV, he's gonna hear exactly what he wants to hear. OK , I'm exagerating, but you know what I mean.

I only started to "get" the "Rape" when it was almost near the end... First I thought the intro was too long, but after, I realized that it needed to be for what was to follow... that song is modally very strong, and that's the key.

I'm sure your CD will be magnificent, far more interesting than a couple from Favored Nations that I have listened to.

Good night

Optical Studio Thanks for your concern although I think it was one of those days, must've been something I'd eaten lol

Hows your day been anyway?

It's nearly 2am over here and I've spent most of today perfecting the graphical side to my website for my ICT course...our teachers have given us a month for this assignment (well starting in January) since we need to get our asses in gear and finish other assignments that we had to put behind us because the whole class failed the exam lol...anywayz, if I get an early start I can spend more time improving my other assignments and hopefully come out with an A* :-)

This web design unit is a pain in the ass though, its combined with a graphics unit so we have to document every graphic we make and have atleast 3 drafts for 3 vector based images and 3 bitmap based images...so far I've done 4 drafts of my banner, 3 drafts of my side panel, 3 drafts of my menu buttons and 7 explanations of my animated flash side panel after deciding my vector based ones were rubbish...but its all documented and I said how I can improve stuff and mentioned good points and bad points..which in essence is what they're after lol...

anywayz, take care man
