Clarky - I am aware of that difference between Bm11 and Bmadd11. There is, however, a school of thought that suggests you don't start naming them with the compound names until a 7th is present. So you can have Bm, Bmadd4, Bm7, Bm7add11, Bm11, etc. etc. I happen to belong to that school of thought. Although I don't really know why...:)

Sharif, have you heard the "Lords Of Karma: A Tribute To Steve Vai and Joe Satriani" CD? check out George Lynch's contribution to that. it aint bad, but nothing on that record is excellent. just good. Not that I'm saying Lynch isn't good - he's bloody amazing! He could make an interesting G3 member.

Yeah I know what you mean about those loose trem arms. That really pisses me off. The locking, threadless ones have bushes that last until you get it out the shop door, then you need to go back in and buy more. And the TRS threads are kinda shite. Any trem use and it works loose. I think they need a smaller guage thread on 'em. I too like the arm to stay where I leave it, as part of my playing, and having the bastard thing making it's own arrangements doesn't help at all.

PhrygDom - If you sharpen the 11 over a Bm chord and played Lydian over it you'd have a pretty fucking ugly sound - major third over a minor chord!? Dorian #4 (4th mode of harmonic minor) would be a better choice...

Clarky: That's nothing that fabricating a few brass shims won't help. Gary Brawer has to do this for Joe, cause his gits have compound rads. and at the nut end turns into about a 12" rad. You'll be able to get it real low, no problems.

you guys want to know what I think about all that Bm7add11 Badd11 and A.D.D. and EsPn...none of it really matters when you play guitar, as long as you play whats in your heart...when I play, I clear my mind, close my eyes, and let the music play itself...

962, on the Lords of Karma tribute cd, I like Jake E Lee on it, I think he makes that cd what it is with that Surfing tribute. DAvid Lee Roth recently released another cd, I heard it sucked.

I've heard that some of U have recommended the Forgotten Part 2 song, I didn't heard that song cause I've never seen FIABD album in stores (is a bit hard to get Satch music in this town), so I went to USA on a trip and got it. Oh man, that song is really really good, and I've read that Satch is playing it on the G3 tour. Awesome, I hope they record it whereas on CD or DVD, or maybe both.

My name is Frak and I am a huge fan of your music. I came to your G3 show in Atlanta at the Tabernacle on 10/29. Anyway, It has always been a dream of mine to have my guitar signed by my 3 favourite guitar idols namely you, Steve Vai and Malmsteen. I grew up in a 3rd world country with no hope of ever atteneding any of your concerts and when I moved to the US, my hope was rekindled.

However, after waiting outside by the back exit for 2 hours with my buddies, we finally get told that you had left and weren't coming back that night. One of the roadies handed out consolation picks but I still feel like my guitar is still incomplete! I was *so* looking forward to finally realising my childhood dream of having my guitar signed by all 3 of you fulfilled only to be thwarted by your last elusive signiture.

My questions is, if you don't mind me asking. What happened that night and is there anyway I can have you autograph my guitar please? I was almost drove down to Orlando for your Saturday night gig but pulled out at the last minute because I couldnt afford it.

Yeah, if you're playing without theory then you must either be uniquely gifted or are just horrible. This is different from learning your theory and then forgetting it (as Satch says).
