RE:Joe Chat]

Ok i just want to let everyone know that Guitar-Guitar.com webmaster sent me a slightly negative email. I was simply pointing out the flaws in the site and how to improve it.

They basically blamed me for their chat site section not functioning properly. Like everyone i wanted to get into the live chat. I signed up bearly and followed all directions correctly. Anyways heres what the webmaster wrote back.

remember

Our services are FREE

so the fact you wont use them again is YOUR loss.

The fact you couldn't get in is your fault. You either don't have your computer set up correctly or something else.

The chat runs on the same type software as yahoo chat.

if you submitted a pre question before the deadline of feb. 6 your question was sent to Mr. Satriani and his manager

Guitar-Guitar.com webmaster@guitar-guitar.com

What does everyone think of this? If you wish you can send them your opinions too. But they are likely to blame you too. :>P

Joe i would recommend you not use their services ever again.

Their website services reflect their cocky attitude. I'm extremely disapointed in them. My comp works fine and i have used Yahoo before. So its not my problem, its theirs.

Does anybody know whats the major difference between JS100,JS1000 and JS2000 and which guitar is the best of those three?

TRITONast Theres a big difference between the JS 100,1000 and 2000. The 100 has a different bridge and Ibanez made pickups, the 1000 and 2000 has Dimarzio pickups and the 1000 has a much higher quality bridge than the js100's although some people thing that the js100's bridge is just fine. The js2000 is only availible in Champagne Gold and has a state of the art fx bridge which gives you the tuning stability of a locking trem, but with the feel and sustain of a fixed bridge that you might find on a les paul for expample. Both the js1000 and 2000 have a js prestige neck whch is an exact digial rendering of the neck on joe's favourite guitar. The Js100 is of course a lot cheaper than the 1000 and 2000, its hard to say which is 'better' if you have the money, go for a 1000, but the 100 is more than capable of doing the job :) I hope i've helped you a little, theres plenty more people on this site that no more about the 100,1000 and 2000 than me, i you have more question im sure someone will be able to tell you everything you need to know :)........Joe Rules.....

Oh i almost forgot!! The JS1000 has a 'high pass filter' which is acivated by pulling up on the tone pot which maintains clarity and highs at lower volumes...or something like that lol The JS100, 1000 and 2000 all have push pull coil taps on the volume knob too so you can split the pick up configuations to get a much wider range of tones. :) I'll wander off now and stop blabbering :D.......Joe Rules.....

Hi Joe:

I´m Jorge from Spain and I would like to know if you have thought about coming hear with the G3. I ask you to consider it and I want to say that the show with yourself, Mr. Vai and Mr. Petrucci is perfect so never change the formation of the "supergroup"

A meterle caņa!

r6rocker- I kinda figure that Clarky is already so depraved that whatever I do couldn't possibly make any difference... but ok, I'll back off a little. I'll give you a shout when the video is done so you can tell me where to send it... LOL

Jelly Man- You're wise to walk the other way... much wiser than Clarky. He really doesn't have a clue of what he's getting himself into.

Silmarien: Happy 200! Cheer up will ya', it's gonna be better, promise! :)

gleed -- that email was quite rude to say the least from the wembaster @ guitar-guitar.com...

joe -- please don't ever choose those ppl to deal with ever again man, I've heard nothing but god awful things about the chat, and the way it was handled. I do understand how they can get hectic and a bit confused, but...organaztion could have been achieved...and guitar-guitar.com refuses to take responsibility for it. Not the kinda of buisness ethic i'd like to be associated with...

Jstrat57 - Smart choice. JS1000's are guitars I still can't put into words why I like them so much. They feel and sound so damn right and I can't figure out why. Well tone is left to the pickups, but the feel, I don't know.

Happy 100, crispin. AARGHH, I missed the chat because my brother was on the computer.

MegaBoyd Having stuff stolen really sucks, man. I think there must be a theft attack going on on guitarists at the moment, since r6r and anyone else in the north of england might like to note, some thieves just broke into my guitar teacher's house and stole........watit for it...............his old mountain bike which has a cracked frame, and a tent. So, if you guys see any climbing expedition round the peak district with a broken mountain bike and a green Mountain Hardware dome tent, camping by the side of the road because they can't get back into sheffield, laugh at them for me, please! HaHa

As for the chat - I'm not really sure what everybody was expecting? We submitted our questions early, so why would Joe be answering new questions? Was he? I was never sure if Joe could see what was going on in every room since his banter with the host was in all the Satch chat rooms. Could he see what everyone was writing in every room? His name wasn't on the sidebar until the after chat when the host said "Joe Satriani has entered the room" - then everybody swamped him with questions chasing him from room to room. THAT was the ugly part. The rest of the time I just sat back & read the page & threw in my 2 cents every now and then. I learned some new things I hadn't heard Joe say before, so I thought it was an o.k. chat. The person I feel sorry for is JOE. There's only ONE Joe, and thousands of us. He can't possibly get to all of us. I do think he would like to though, but hey, that's why he has this website.

Noodles & beer! lmao!!!

edit: I did see Joe say Hi JS Clone 1 when he came into my chat room. :)

Yeah Michelle... it was probably a good idea that the questions were picked ahead of time, but at least Joe was nice enough to hang around after the initial chat and answer a few other questions that he would probably not normally answer... I asked him what his favourite "Country Guitar Player" was and he said "It was Danny Gatton"

For me it was probably Albert Lee... he's been around for a long time, used to play rock and then got into Country & Bluegrass... I admire any guitar player that's willing to study diverse styles, one it makes them a better player, two they're more respected as a musician as well...

I think it was a valid question because not too many people that listens to his style would think Joe even listened to Country... But hey! there you have it... all you Tele players out there should check Danny Gatton out...

And then I asked Joe what the "Greatest Blues Player of all Time" was and Joe said it was "Albert King?"

I said yeah sure... I agree, probably any of the Kings would be really good... He then continued by saying that it's really difficult to name just one and say that he or she is the best...

Personally B.B. King gets it for me but it would be different for everyone else...

I wish I had more time to ask more questions but it turned into a caotic frenzy pretty much after that... and then Joe left soon after...

Thanks anyway Joe, for hanging with us crazed fans for awhile... it means alot! and thanks for answering some questions of my own...

Peace....Brother!

I agree that the js1000 is one hell of a guitar...but one thing artists have to realize (which is a really hard to thing to do..) eventually if we want to make it anywhere...it's not going to happen when playing a signature instrument. I myself had fallen into this rut...my music DOES have a lot of joe influence to it, but it is different in many ways. The way I get linked back to joe is the appearance I portray, the guitar I use. I would strongly recommend that if you're a player looking to be somewhat successful, and need a new MAIN axe...don't got with a js, a custom shop guitar with a js body, or any other signature guitar...find your own. Tone is in the fingers...and everyone has their own story to tell. Just my 0.02$ from past experience. Breaking the mold is a tough thing to do...especially one that has solidified it'self around ya.
