seven string slinger....love that guitar. very bluesy-looking, but i don't know what. good luck with saving up for that. it's worth it though. that's why im hoping the new 2000s are gonna drop the price. i can't believe they stopped producing the burnt transparent blue. sal right.
Joe is not gonna give any of yall a guitar, no matter how much you beg.
i played a little ps2 today and it was this wierd fighting japanese game or whatever and i swear it was joe in the backround playin music. and know that he said he was gonna play for some ps2 games. it just got me a little excited is all.
i also heard satch boogie on a local late-night sports show. do they need permission from you to do that joe?
circles is awesome. 1:27-1:32 is cool. as i get more developed as a guitar player, im totally appreciating the little licks that joe does.
My ibanez S470 is bein freaky. it's going out of tune so fast. i don't know what to do. so ive been busting out my ghetto-style rg120. very cool actually. i was surprised at how it sounded. if anyone could give me a little insight on what to do, then please.
that's all for now. peace.

While visiting NYC this past weekend I went to the Hard Rock Cafe. In the HRC I was seated next to a Joe Satriani Ibanez that is displayed in a glass case. This guitar is black with silver paint sort of scribbled all over it -- including the fretboard. The effect was very cool. I could not keep my eyes off of that guitar. I'd think the paint on the fretboard would wear off with play so I wonder if the guitar was prepared specially for sale to the HRC. Is there any "story" behind this guitar?

Sweep_pick --- Thanks for your help! However, I stillhave one question : what is a Super Shifter?? I have never heard of such a BOSS Pedal; what does it do?
Austin (stu not boo) --- I think you are quite right; the JS10 Chromeboys sold to the public are actually made of lucite ( a kind of plastic) and not wood. I think that's kinda sad isn't it?
orezeno --- i think that Ibanez you saw in the Hard Rock Cafe goes by the name of Black Dog, and was donated by Joe himself!!

Hi people! Supposedly luthite has a nice clean sound (whatever that means), as opposed to wood guitar bodies. I guess I would be a little upset if I bought a JS 10th and didnt know it was a luthite body....but i'm sure I would get over it quick enough....lol! I read that there were only 300 made (can that be true?) I see one for sale occasionally, you would think that they would be impossible to find. Unless you are referring to the model that was discontinued because of finishing problems or something....what was it? a JS-2?.....Peace, Dave

hey joe, i just wanna say i love the new cd, but im pissed off because i aint heard the eight steps and slick, i think its a bit shitty that u can only get em on the jap import or whatever. u should put em out as bonus trax on a cd single or something. also get turkey man out , so all your fans can enjoy it. your music is for yourself and your fans not to make sony music rich. i love your music but it pisses me off that when i buy it, as it helps make some fat cat sony retards rich. i want all the money to go to u and whoever helped u make the music, not the record company

Things are looking up ladies and gentlemen!
On the semi-formal front, almost all the people I spoke to were impressed by my "interpretation" and complimented my wit. My work there was done, and I hadn't even physically done anything. Heh heh heh.
Well, unfortunately semester number 6 starts tomorrow, and then it's re-assessment time at year-end. (Not rear end btw.)
Come on SBM! Come to Australia!!! (Joe you can come too...)

Hi I just wanted to tell you that you inspire me daily to be the best I can. I feel like now that I'm almost good that somehow I sound to much like you but so does Steve Vai so do I suck just because everything I write sounds like you guys or am I allowed to sound like you guys and be still be a good player? I mean if you play melodicly and with a wah you can't help but sound similar I think or maybe I'm just a poser. As you can see I'm confused. Did you ever go through that when you were coming into your own? Feeling like you might be good and then hating yourself because you sound like your influences to much? I don't know what I'm talking about. I just wanted to say thanks for giving me music worth listing to. Matt Holden mattholden.com

Matt, i know EXACTLY what you are talking about. it's perfectly fine, in fact encourageable to play like your favorite players. play what you want to play. that's what is most important. my feeling is you may get sick of someone else's styles, and for me, making up my own licks and playing them (i'm pretty heavily influenced my satch, too) is what i get the best high from. but you also have to know that if you want to get anywhere in the music business, really, anywhere, it's useless to be joe satriani. because, think about it, they already have a joe satriani, why would they need another one? they don't. you wouldn't make money for them. it will kill you if you sound exactly like him. you will be dismissed immediately without a second chance. i know this straight from the source, my guitar teacher is signed by sony.
besides, what is the fun in playing someone else's style and material? yeah sure, it's great to learn some really classic soloes, and borrow from the style once in a while, but if that's all you play, you are going to get sick of it. you need personal inspiration. remember joe satriani saying on his DVD that he think of Hendric 99% of the time? well if you think of satch 99% of the time, you are thinking of hendrix 98% of the time. LOL. he said that he fought it at first, when he was younger, but now i guess he lets it flow out of him. so, really, i don't have anything to tell you except play what your heart wants to play, play what makes you happy. it doesn't really matter what kind of music or who's music, if it makes you happy, PLAY IT!!!!

Thanks dude. I have a band thats a totally different style than satch but I write instrumental music because I have to. It's not an option it just creeps out. So my band sounds nothing like satch because we all know it's way uncool these days to be a good guitar player in a band! lol But I love to come up with the instrumentals the most. Anyway thanks for taking the time to write - Matt mattholden.com

Joe, I was wondering, if you might consider playing a date somewhere closer to Greenville,SC? There are a lot of your fans in this area, that can't quite make it to Atlanta or Charlotte. Also, considering in my opionon, that you and Gary Hoey are quite posibly the two finest guitar players out there today, you two could hook up for a show together, what are the posibilities? Look forward to your response, thanks.
