Hey Joe, The first time I saw you was in Fresno in 1991, I think. A guy gave me tickets that put me in the third row right down the center isle. Your music has made such an impact on my emotions from smiling, to crying...thanks. I had 2 questions: 1) Hill of Skull - the song, is one of my favorites - It reminds me of the word Golgotha from the New Testament, which is the name of the place where the Jesus Christ was crusified. This song is amazing to me because when I close my eyes it reminds me of the scripture found in Matthew 27:44-54. That song evokes a sadness and tears, when I read that scripture. What is the inspiration for calling that song Hill of Skull and what was the emotion when youj feel it. 2) The song Circles - that is one of the most envigorating and enlightening songs I have ever felt, would you mind sharing the inspiration behind that too? Baltazar - c-ya - 10-18-03 at the Greek Theatre, wish I could sit and chat with ya later.

I know you probably aren't going to read this. I'm a poor college student in Eugene, OR. You are coming to Portland in October, but like I said, I am poor. I don't have a job yet, but might next year. I guess what I'm asking is: do you think you will come back to Oregon in future tours? How far ahead do you plan them? Why are you so friggin' awesome? your fan, mike the broke college kid.

rotwildman: I Heard about german people in this forum, but to talk with one? Cool!!! Think they are extinct. ;-) Yes I listen Satriani. Was will ich in nem Kübelböck Forum? Was ist denn grad aktuell los hier? My favorite song: Psycho Monkey, Song 13, CD: Crystal Planet. My favorite CD: Flying in a blue dream. Are you playing guitar? The most people do it in this forum, I think. Ok, see you. Dieter (T4URUS)

Benny you can get a recording of Crushing Day live if you really want... watch the Amsterdam stream, and connect your line out to your line in, then record it in a wave editor ;-)

Hi again all, Well I am also "become moved" now, spent much of last Saturday sat on the South Circular driving a white van (apologies to anyone who was stuck behind me, I don't drive that often...Last time was over a year ago!) No access at home, have to sort internet connection out (boo!) but have just dl'ed the Rockline interview at work and looking forward to listening to it. Anyone who's going to G3 tonite, have fun and tell us all about it tomorrow!! Later

Hey Joe (nice song :) )!

I´ve got a question about your equipment!

I´m playing the Digitech Whammy 4, cause I thought it sounded very cool on the live DVD/CD in San Fransisco!

I can see, that you have the Whammy WH-1 pedal on stage. So I asked Digitech where to get that pedal, because it sounds much warmer than the Whammy 4 (I thought I can get the warm sound with the WH-1). They told me that you play the Digitech Whammy 4, but it is backstage in a selfmade rack, and the WH-1 pedal is only to control the rack.

So now the questions:

1. Is this true?

2. I have now the WH-4 AND the WH-1 at home. I can only hear a very (very...) small diffrence between the pedals! So IF you still play the WH-1, what makes you do that? Has it any advanteges in the comparison to the WH-4?

3. (most important) How do you get this warm sound? I only get it approximately, when I use the neck PU and turn the toneknob down. It would be funnier to play with it, if I had a warm, creamy sound, not a cold scratchy...

Thanks a lot, hope you read it :)...

baltz - I'll be at the 10/18 show as well. Where are you sitting?

crispin - That one-yard rule is correct, but to me it looked like he was more than a yard away when he started running. I don't know...I need to watch that play again.
WashburnAV20 - Joe most likely won't make it to Europe until 2004.
Mr Nick - Whoa. I have over 1300 posts. I didn't realize that...LOL. I need to get a life. ;-)

SupaaDave: The best thing to do is to keep an old tooth brush around to brush the gunk from around the frets. I do this every string change, and use Gibson Luthier's Fretboard oil on my rosewood fretboard when it starts looking dry. Also, you could spray a product called Fingerease on you're strings before you play. It keeps the strings slick which keeps them from corroding and cutting into your fingers, therefore cutting down on fretboard gunk. I think it's the best stuff in the world....without it, my strings are black and unplayable in 2-3 days, with it, I get about 9days of use out of my strings.

Phrydom: Graham has the finished track we collaborated on, it's kind of a mellow, nebulous, jazzy thing.

Hey, I just had a really nice idea for a tune! I'm gonna write one that only uses open voice triads. Not only should it sound sickly sweet, but it'll help me come up with some nice voicings. Thre goes that stone killing two birds...
