rdg - dude.. I was not being critical of you at all..lol .. I was completely agreeing with you. maybe my wording was not that great...

Someone offered an opinion to you that EJ was not so hot live for one reason or another... If I understood your post correctly, I think that you felt that this opinion was maybe a little harsh....

I was agreeing with you by trying to point out that some folks really do not enjoy performing live - albeit a pretty mandatory part of being a pro muso...

That last paragraph is not directed at you.. it is directed at the folks that judged EJ in the first place... I think you was trying to defend EJ... I was trying to do the same and back up your comments...

I honestly think that quite often, musicians make for the worst audience..

I think this is a case of "the internet shows no body language" so both of our agreeing points of view got a little distorted...

tyrant - the last posse was about pitch axis

jsc1 - interesting point - theory vs Creativity

creativity always wins... some folks just seems to have limitless supplies of this... and no matter how much or how little they know, they still manage to be increadably creative...

theory will not make anyone creative.. theory alone does not write songs... however, theory does unlock more options..

so a lesser creative person could well be a better writer for knowing more just because there are more musical tools to choose from... so you can get the best out of yourself..

you can never know too much..

Okay, phrydom, I've seen your message now. When I posted my last one, it was from school, so I didn't get to see your message. Thanks. (But make up your mind, which song was it? Or did he just get his frend to do it twice, and put one version on each song?)LMAO

Nick Argh, I can't read all that JR chat stuff, "DKDKD has joined jrchat, sisi[[ has left the chat, sed is now know as gudfgljuynior, <jrudess>hi everyone, sodifj is now known as dhgf., <did>hi jordan>, <hudj>hi jordan, shfjkh has now left the chat" etc etc.

greg m flying visit.... the cat thing (thanks SpazGuy - sorry forgot your screen name) is definitely the orgasmic note in The Riddle. Erotic Nightmares sounds to me like plain old guitar noises... string scraping, using the trem arm as a bottleneck, effects, etc... Adrian Belew's been doing it for donkey's... gotta run mate... later! Dave

guitarspaz: Thanks for the link, pretty cool little interview.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but today is a beautiful day outside. It's not all that warm, but it's above freezing and the sun is out. I forgot what the sun looked like. I actually have to leave the house today, which is very unusual. Normally I go to the grocery once a week and that's it. Today, I'm taking my Dad for a chemo treatment. Then maybe off to the bike shop to see if anything new has come in. Song of the day: Jeff Beck's Head For Backstage Pass. Later all

Pandas - Oreo is a panda hand puppett I got for like 8 dollars at a chinese "fast food" type restaurant (Actually...The Panda Express if that sounds familiar). My sister got Wing Wong from the same place. Wing Wong had a different nose so it was cuter. Anyhow, she would play with it and make it hug me or my mom when we were in supermarkets, because it never wanted to get lost or get germy.

Happy birthday JBlaze!

JOE- It's pretty cool that they did an article about you on CNN.

But....

You don't need Grammys to show that you're good at guitar. There are more than 30,000 members on this site that think you are one of the best guitarists, and The Flaming Lips probably don't have nearly as many fans!

EDIT: Actually, there are more than 40,000 members. Beat that, Flaming Idiots!

JOE- I think it's great that you don't take that stuff to seriusly, I didn't know you've been nominated 12 times, i bet if heard all 12 songs you were nominated for, and the songs that did win, you probably have been shafted all 12, i know the last 3 years you definatley should have won...

how about a BANANA MANGO 3.................

.....Bye.......

you can get a song copyrighted by recording it onto a disc or tape, then post it to yourself with the copyright logo and information written on it, then archive it. Honestly, that's legal.

Hi! I heard this exellent joke yesterday:

I won't mention anything or anyone in particular for obvious reasons, so it's something like this:

Two men were from two neighbour countries, which had a quite unfriendly relationship (let's call them countries A and B). But these two men somehow happened to be in the same place at the same time when one of them was cleaning a lamp (it's a normal thing to do in this kind of situation) and a blue genius appeared! The blue guy said: "I am now free from this horrible prision! As you might know, the only way I know to thank someone is to ask for a wish, and so I'll ask each one of you for a wish, and it shall become reality!" "You! Ask for anything you want!" And the guy from country A said:" Well, I shall take this opportunity to do something I've allways dreamed of! At our country we hate the people from country B! They pollute our society! They're not even as intelligent as our superior nation! So I want you to build the highest and strongest wall possible all around our country, so they can never come to our country again! Not even flying!" And the genius replied: "Your wish shall now become a reality!" And suddenly a giant strong wall appeared around country A! "Now you! Ask for anything you want!" And the guy from country B said: "Errr... Mr. Genius, is that wall you built around country A really, really high? "Yes, it is!", the genius said. "And is it really, really strong?" "Yes, it certainly is!", he continued. "Impossible to get in, impossible to get out?" "Absolutely!", the genius replied. And after thinking a bit the guy said: "Ok... so fill it with water!"

PhryDom- Did you receive my mail this time? I can't understand what might be wrong! Well, 5 Mb is quite big... If it didn't work I'll try sending it from another adress... Maybe it's my server... Please say if it worked or not. Thnx.

962 Sorry, I didn't ever insult you, did I? (and since Joe hasn't posted on here for quite a while, this would be pretty measly if we didn't chat to each other. My computer is also screwed by Bill Gates so I can't chat.) Oh well. Again, sorry if I said anything bad. One last request, please don't use the f word so much, because lots of people acess this from places which have filters on them (annoying, I know. So much for free speech.)

Anyone about Jeff Beck I only have his 1980 release "There and Back". How would that rank among his other albums, is it a best one, an ok one or a weak one? I think it's pretty cool. Which are his great ones?

migupais I replied to your message, it mustn't have made it to you... the link worked but there was a 404 error (File Not Found). Please try (if you can) to send it from somewhere else... good luck!!!

Sorry if this message is against the rules of the self-appointed Talk To Joe Police (who, I might add only *seem* to post on Fridays... perhaps it's beer night for the teenagers???), but according to Joe and Jon the Talk To Joe section (and I quote) "is sort of a free-for-all stream of consciousness that all registered members can post to. " So shove it up your arse, once you've pulled your head from it. Having a life is more important to me than abusing faceless screen names; having a life is what I try to do, and that's what I'll continue to do. I sincerely hope the troll hasn't been fed enough this time, and so will go elsewhere to swear at people it doesn't know.

Happy 200 to meeeeee!!

One cool thing, on the news, (no, this wasn't C5, it was BBC) they were showing the UN building, talking about Iraq and so on, and in the background they were playing Radiohead. (Okay, so it was one of those electronica/techno-ish things: Push/Pull revolving doors from the Amnesiac album, but it was still kinda cool.)

Phrydom Beer's too expensive for me, I cleaned myself out buying a guitar last summer, and haven't regained a healthy bank balance since, and now it's time to start realising that in a few months, I'll start paying vast sums to His Toniness to go to Uni. (Why didn't I decide to keep my Sheffield offer - it would have been really cheap and they get pissed most out of all students in the country!)
