HERE is Frank Zappa's engineer, Mark Pinske, telling the story of how Steve got his job.

Hi there, charma.

Sounds cool, Yoda, even if I'm not a quo fan.

Identifying a JS guitar: Yes, please help me on this one. We all know that the 2002 version of the JS1000WH (white) has grey-ish hardware right? well, today, I saw a white JS and I'm pretty sure it's a 1000 too. However, it has chrome hardware! It also has Joe's autograph on the back... and Joe also wrote "#31" after he signed it. What does that mean? Is it a limited version of a JS1000 or is it just an older version?

I noticed that 2003 Iby guitars are cheaper than older versions!

I noticed that the ZR and Edge Pro trems are really cool.

I noticed that Laney, Mesa Boogie, Fender and Ibanez make cool amps.

I noticed that there is a really futuristic silver, 1 humbucker, 1 volume knob one piece Fender Strat! what model is this? It looks so cool!

I have my eyes on a blue Les Paul...

I need money~

greg - yes that's US $...

and the guitar is build to UV7 specs.. so yes, standard UV parts will fit..

Ibanez are not great at supplying spares and those that they do are astronomically expensive

The UV7pbk has the pyramid inlays but they are not neon colours..

Yoda - I've not heard those albums... I've just got the latest Hed PE cd.. it's pretty good.. more rock and less rap oriented than last time around..
ovation - so I've quickly had a blast on her... usual thing... factory set ups... I hate them... she is gorgeous in the flesh.. and after a little poking and proding she'll play great too.. I've not playued her through my rig yet... not had time...
guitarcake - right now I'm not happy with the way she plays... but that's normal.. she needs fiddling with to make things just as I like them..
r6r - it looks like I'll not have time to set her up before I go to Holland so I'll have to take Wrath [black RG470]

alexandre: Thanks for the comments on my iuma page man, and no problem on the paypal delay.

death cube K: Oh yeah, hydraulics on the cab, hopping around in sync with the tunes! Hang some big purple fuzzy dice from you headstock and little purple balls hanging from the bottom side of the guitars body and you're set! Well not all the way, you'll be needing a big purple hat. With a white feather. And more little balls hanging from the brim. And..I should stop now.

Austin: I love the "Why Metallica Sucks" contest. That's genius. And legit too? Too good to be true lol

Clarky: Cool that you finally got her home, I'm sure you're happy as all get out. Make your adjustments and look out world! Avarice unleased! Have a good trip.

Quote/thought/idea of the day: "Many native traditions held clowns and tricksters as essential to any contact with the sacred. People could not pray until they had laughed, because laughter opens and frees from rigid preconception. Humans had to have tricksters within the most sacred ceremonies lest they forget the sacred comes through upset, reversal, surprise. The trickster in most native traditions is essential to creation, to birth." Professor Byrd Gibbens from the intro to George Carlin's book Napalm & Silly Putty

Clarky, about the price of Ibanez spares - £12 for a bag of new plastic bushes for the trem-arm on the Jem??!!!!

I laughed when the dude in my local shop told me that, but soon stopped when I realised he wasn't kidding.

I wonder how many thousands of those split plastic 'o's have been produced. that's where Ibanez make their money - not on £2000 guitars but on thousands of little bits of plastic which sell for £1.20 each!

962 So did you buy the bushes and did they work ? I had a slack trem on my Jem but the changing the 'spilt o's' didn't sort it. The guy who sorts my guitars reckoned that the hole form the trem arm goes 'unround' over time, one little tweak of the insert section to put a minmal bend in it and sorted, all for the price of the usual full set up! btw the full set up costing 4 bags of 'o's' including strings - what a fucking rip off !

Trutina I was just thinking that the educational supplement had been missing for a while, great thought, it obviously explains why, when 'joker' Bush came to power, everybody started to pray - lol ;-)
