Hey all, just thought I'd share some info I got... I'm real happy for this guy...
Anyway, a guitarist I played w/ at a local club is on tour, and he's been through 18 states in the past 2 months alone!!! This guy is awesome! He's Sam Orozco in case anyone sees him around in their area.
Also, (best part), since we jammed a coupla times, he really liked what he saw, and will be offering me $100/night to go and play with him! I'm real excited about this, especially since this is for real!
We should all be so lucky to be able to tour around the nation for our first trip out of state!

Go Sam!!! You rock ! ! ! ! !

Man, music is so awesome...
Where else can you do what you love and make (potentially, if this works out) upwards of $300 per week for less than 10 hours work, doing something you absolutely love?
Sorry about the double post, I'm all hyped up about the future :) !!!!!

JS Clone1: You aren't that wrong about me man. I'm not that old. I'm 27. I'm not retired retired, just taking a year off to enjoy life for a change. Rediscover the world maybe. If the right job comes along, great I'll take it, it's just not something I'm actively pursuing at this time. Maybe first part of summer. Maybe next week. Who knows at this point.

I refuse to believe the Planet Us rumors until I hear it from Joe himself. I have heard way too many rumors regarding the members of Van Halen in the past 5 years...I now choose not to believe anything.

Also, look at the wording of that announcement. Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas are scheduled to be on Rockline. "A very special guest" is apparently an entirely different band, Planet Us. There's even a "special guest" inside this "very special guest" that happens to be our Joe Satriani. I can't believe anything based on the wording of this release.

trutina - The neighbors called the cops on you? What for? Noise?

IbaNick - I haven't talked to you in a while...sorry for being a stranger. Email me and I can get back to sending you some of those MP3s...
Sharif - I guess Animal 57 sounds cool. Is there any meaning to that name?
Stu Clone - Congrats!

js clone 1 - thanks. I'm really gutted now, hehe!

Hey, who remembers when there were rumours about Joe having broken a finger, around the time of recording SBM I think it was.... or maybe it was a year before that. These rumours kinda remind me of that.

962, greg m, crispin..images and words is the best studio dt cd, followed by scenes from a memopry, although metropolis part 2 - live scenes from new york is the best cd

i might make asong dedicated to avarice, called cluck cluck moo moo baa baa, and anything else that sounds weird.

trutina..too much time on here, yeah, we have no social life

joe satriani and sammy hagar??...sounds interesting.

GREG M - Thanks man. Sorry i've got to say that TFTO is an awesome piece of work, atmospheric, structured and tight. I think that Yes have a defence to your criticism in so far as the 'concept' album was a new and 'fashionable' idea at the time. On top of that, i'm not sure of the timings but i would take a guess and say that the double album that was TFTO is probably not much longer than a standard CD now days. Each to their own anyway.

PHRY DOM - Did you get my epic mail dude ? btw I've worked out what the main event has been on T2J in my absence, i thought about trying to rush a track through but when i listened to myself play last night i realised how piss poor my technique is :-( EDIT - Okay dude, blame it on BT, got your mail a minute ago and checked out your track, cool, got that PD trademark :-) Maybe i will persevere, if i don't hit the deadline at least you can hear some of my stuff sooner!

phryg - thanks for the review info - the D1600 really does get a nice write up dont it.....

r6r - I'm expecting the custom to arrive within 4 or 5 weeks... woooohooooo... I've seen picks of the neck... what a babe...

I checked out Hertford and they have an AW16G in stock.. very good price too...

death cube - this is interesting... are you on AIM I'd like to talk more about your expreriences with both of these machines... My AIM name is Klarkov... Thanks for the tip off..
mowlie - thanx for the link.. I've read all of the tech specs to something like 9 machines.. what I'm after is independant reviews like thos in mags... they can be more revealing..
crispin - the Yammies looks nice... the Korg looks as though it may have some very cool features and has double the hard drive... I like the ease of setting the auto-punch on the Yam [which is the same as the Yam 4 track MD recorder I'm using now]... If the auto punch is as easy to set on the Korg then the Korg wins.... recording alone means that the auto punch feature and the ease of setting it is very important..
The Yam also has 4 band eq as opposed to the Korgs 3...
This is not an easy choice as they are so well matched..
OPC - a Satch clone is not only something I'm not, but also something I don't do well either... lol
trutina - I have to work in Holland for the rest of the week... when I get back I'll be completing the track and also getting my new studio... which will arrive end of March... Although I won't record the track on the new studio I will be able to master onto CD with it........... wooo hoooooo at last....

the backing track is almost done... experminenting with the orchestration [mostly the horns right now... 'do they really work well or do they not?']... touching up the details of the drum programming, ad sorting out the final chord progression for the outro [nice and sweet]

Good morning Joe! Here in Brazil is 09:15h. All good? With certainty yes. Well, I leave to say more a little on me. Work in the Federal University of Rio De Janeiro, I am librarian, but same work with administration of computer networks. I have a son of 16 years. It likes it very Jeff Campitelli. It starts to study music now. Well, for the time being he is alone.

God bless you!

Does not forget to bring a guitar for me. I am waiting

Thank you, Joe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally, I get to see you in Singapore. Already advanced booked the tickets. Have been waiting sooooooooooo long for this. The last time I saw you was in Malaysia. When you were there with Vai and Eric Johnson. But sadly you were just into Satch Boogie, if I remember correctly, when the cops stopped the concert. Thanks for coming down to Singapore this time. I have been searching this site for ages trying to see if you were coming to Asia on tour for Strange Beautiful Music. Was prepared even to go to another asian country if you were gonna play there. But missed the announcement of the asians dates. Kciked myself after that. Hope you have a great time while you are here and througout asia. Don't forget us the next time you tour for the next album. Hopefully there's a backstage pass giveaway for the Singapore concert.

Afternoon Satch Fans - not been on for a while, just too tired these days.

Read the CNN thing, isn't Joe great, never wanting to stay stuck in a puddle, always willing to try new things and go onwards and upwards.

I've been trying out this Ebay site, gets a bit addictive don't you think. I've managed to get hold of some Joe picks, a guitar mag 1995 with Joe features in it and The Satch Tapes and that's just the UK site, I better not go on Ebay.com, I think Andy will chop off my fingers.

I have to mention this Joe, you might feel flattered. We were discussing bald fellas at work today and I showed some of the ladies a picture of you and well I have to say swooning is the word. They've put you amongst their most desirable sexy bald men list, hope you don't mind.

LOL Sharon

Stu Clone - I'm green dude. You're getting payed to play. Is there anything.... oh man, let me just say I feel like you minus the opportunity to play and get payed.

Trutina - Ah cool. 27, I never knew. You living with anyone? Are you writing a new song for the album.

Jelly Man - Yeah, I think Joe did break his finger... or was it his toe?

Ovation1 - Viking Kong sounds a lot like Black Star. Listen to the bass line. I think Paul is an extremely accurate picker but I find it messy. When he hits the strings, you hear a lot of chirping from the pick as he uses the rear pickup a lot. I am having the same problem actually. You'll probably hear it in my T2J tune. A few sweeps and (#$!$%@#$%) picking runs that you'll hear.

Hey Joe, well youve probably heard this amillion times but YOU KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Now I need your help man.Im a musician on a tight budget and I need your advice on what type of amp I shoul get. Im gonna start playing live soon In front of crowds of people and what do you think would be best for me as a lead guitarest. A Marshall 250 GFX 50+50 stereo combo,(100wtts)or a Randall RG 200? Musicians Friend claims it to be 200Watts of total power. They both cost In between $450-$500. Should I stick to Marshall?or an amp you suggest would be grat!!!! Well thanx.
