yeah, Fire Strings on disc! that'd be cool.
Then again, we're getting the live in London DVD this year, and a new album, probably next year, so we can't complain!
Nah your tuner would never find what key you fart in - I tried singing into my Korg tuner out of interest, and it's very sensitive to pitch change. And yes, i was holding a fairly strong note, but guitar tuners are designed to be sensitive! hehe.
Hey Joe, did you ever record (video or audio) any of the stuff you played for the other G3 shows - the ones with John and the ones with Kenny-Wayne?
I think it would be really cool if you could compile another G3 CD of all the stuff you and Steve did from different tours, so maybe get some more stuff of Eric's on there, then some by the aforementioned dudes!
I'd really like to hear the stuff you all played together. And for future shows, you should see if Paul Gilbert and Nuno Bettencourt would be interested!
Anybody heard any of the new albums by Extreme? I got "III Sides to Every Story" the other day - it's ace. Now I want more! recommendations?

I just recorded a very strange piece that I think I'll call perturbatio. It very strange indeed, just one guitar, heavily laden with overpowering effects and triple delay. Kind of sounds like Jimmy Page with broken fingers lol.

mr nick - i'm going to surrey university (in guildford, near the cathedral).
I'm sure that if we wanted to, we could come up with a band (since you'd have all the ACM people to choose from and I could nab someone from the uni if necessary). We could get tonnes of people, like the polyphonic spree, only rocking.
greg m - what you say about keyboardists is so true.

pastel black, I'm sure a tuner would pick up the key your flatulence is in if you held it close enough. The hard part would be sustaining the wind long enough for the tuner to pick it up. Also keep in mind that you would need to hold the same note long enough to get a proper reading.....LMAO !!!

I'm sure my programme doesn't even tune my guitar properly. Jimmy Page with broken fingers lmao.
Regarding G3.1, surely if Nick was Vai due to his properly-shaped-guitar, Yoda would have to be Satch due to his almost-properly-shaped-guitar (ibanez sans hole)?

Did anyone see Vai on the Do it yourself network last night? They were supposed to be showcasing celeb hobbies and they were going to show Steve messing with his bees. I don't get that channel and just wondered if anyone caught it or not.

This one goes to all of you Yngwie Malmsteen fans out there...
On July 1997, british magazine Total Guitar published the following profile:
WHO: Lars Johann Yngwie Lannerback
BORN: 30th June 1963, Stockholm Sweden
HISTORY: Yngwie started playing guitar seriously on September 18th 1970, after watching a TV special about Jimi Hendrix. Since then he's released a series of... ahem... classic guitar albums and stablished himself as one of the most technically gifted guitarists around.
SO IS HE DEAD POPULAR THEN? Well not quite. While eastern Europeans snap up his records by the barrel-load most people hide their copy of his Odyssey album when their mates come round.
A BIT HARSH? Unfortunately it's down to two things. One, his music hasn't really gone anywhere in over 13 years, and two, his attitude doesn't endear him to the guitar community.
EXPLAIN: Actions such as writing notes to other guitar players thanking them for not copying him have not helped. One recipient of such a note, Joe Satriani, an affable, mellow chap, commented: "The guy's an asshole." Indeed.
And I have to agree...

Whew --Thank God. fyi Guitar Center informed me that the tab book for Strange Beautiful Music is now available. To me the tab books are even better than the release of the album itself. Can't wait to sink my fingers into that.

Quote of the day: "You gotta try to be the best, but you must never believe you're the best"

Pastel Black Great idea, you'll need to practice your flatulence a lot to get the right tone. I think that you should drink diferent things, to hear all the sounds you can make with your ass.
Goin' party tonight. A friend turns 15 and she's making THE PARTY. YEAH!

Hi Joe, I was just wondering if there was any news about the guitar that was stolen after your show in Clearwater Fla.? I was there that night and was lucky enough to meet you after the show. I hope you got the guitar back....if not I hope that this sad episode will not keep you from coming back to this area to perform for your fans again.

Joe did you really say Yngwie's an asshole? I would be inclined to think so too, but I always thought you'd be the one to politely say "he's on a different wavelength" ;-) take it easy anyways man, and thanks for everything. Dave
