After looking forward to it for a long time, I finally got to see Satch Vai and Malmsteen last night in West Palm Beach... it was possibly the worst concert I've ever been to.
Besides the fact that Yngwie barely even played a full song but instead spent the entire time playing the same crap very fast over and over and over....
I think this concert had the worst sound quality I've ever experienced in any concert, indoor or outdoor. I don't know who's to blame, there could be so many factors involved... maybe the place just isn't made to get good sound, maybe it's not set up right, maybe the sound technicians for the guitarists didn't do their job, maybe they were playing far too loudly, causing a lot of distortion... but regardless, I payed $45 for some of the worst seats, on the top floor, and I could barely discern one note in ten that any of them were playing...
this was supposed to be one of the greatest concerts ever... Vai is in my opinion the greatest guitar player to have ever lived... but it was a horrible experience, I can't believe how bad it was, don't they try to ensure good sound quality, or is that not important anymore? the only thing I could hear clearly were the drums!
and Vai t-shirts going for $32 each don't make me feel better, either. so, who's to blame, and do I really care, after this?

Michiganviously - How about I call you Mitch? lol... there's nothing "bad" about Steve's clothes. They're just a little different.
misch...mischie...mischievous! Got it... lol!
Juju - haha, great stuff!
Ok... I'm changing my strings...er, I mean polish my chimes and glockenspiel and gonna do some hardcore practicing. Right after this Andy Timmons song finishes. Man he rocks!
AT or Alex Lifeson for next G3!!
Later all...
Edit - Geniuser - Sorry that you had a bad time...

Joe made it happen!!
Monday Night Football Game
Indianapolis Colts vs. Tampa Bay Bucs
Late in the 4th qrtr Tampa had the game with a big lead......however...that all changed in the last moments of the game. I started playing Satch Boogie when Colts had the ball "to pump up Manning" and it worked!!! I played a combo of Satch Boogie and Time off the Live album and it was freaky cool la la nice cool!! Colts won!!! Went down as the biggest game ever on Monday night football!!! I couldn't beleive it!! I wanted to see Tampa lose...I am an Eagles fan!! And Joe was in the air that night!! You're the bst man.

box of altoids - Joe and Stu split up a while ago. Among other things, Stu wanted "time off" to spend time with his daughter.
962 - Yeah, you gotta get LTE I. Shame on you for buying them out of order. ;-)
Stu Clone - One Cluts? LOL... Didja know Stuart Hamm is Mama Thrust? Joe Satriani is Raise A Joint, but I think someone mentioned that here a while back.
Some for Do The Stu include Hued Tots, Toed Tush, Hot Duets, Duet Host, Toe Thuds, and HUD Totes...haha. Okay...I'll stop now.

Interesting factoid....when I got to meet Joe in Milwaukee on 10/22..I was talking to him about his technique on "Midnight"..and he mentioned that he also uses that technique..on "New Blues"..in the rhythm section....and it was recorded live with the band. Happy November 1 Joe!!!

mischievous- I saw your post. Sorry, Im just really frusterated, I almost did an Yngwie (breaking all my strings) What excersises were you refering to exactly? The only time you dont deserve a nice guitar is when you're playing in a little punk band, playing the same 4 chords over and over again. Not that punk is a bad thing, but you just dont need a 3,000+ dollar instrument to make it sound good. Anyway, what would you suggest is an essential thing to learn when aiming for clean legatto?
