Ooh, I wish I could buy that jem. I would so pay out $1000 instantly. (just think, that's about £600, wow that's like a third of the normal price!)
defensor23 You're not the first one to sugest a js7. Try contacting Ibanez about it.

Jellyman: There's more that I don't know about that type of music than I what I do, that's for sure. I know some of the basic guys though, and enjoy quite a bit of it.
Clarky: LMAO
r6rocker: Yeah the R6's have always been cool, but I still love VFR's. Depends on my mood. And how far I'm going. And also, congrats to you for winning the 50 points! That was said by non other than the Late President Richard M. Nixon! You must have seen that before, there's no way you just guessed that!
Edit: That last paragraph was originally written to PhryDom for some reason beyond me. I was not awake. Sorry for the mix up.

ok to end this talk about Kirk I'm just going to say.
One he does not suck if you where smart you would see
that in the start of his metallica days yes he did play very
fast but that was to show every one that he was good
and to make a name for himself as a guitar player. after that
he now just plays what he wants to play! oh and I dont
know if you know (Cube) but you are on his teachers web site so you saying that he cant play is making it look like Joe didn't do a good job so think what your going to say before
you talk shit about any guitarist!
oh and I'm not a ass your Husband there (rocker) is!

Jelly Man- That's why I put Rubina on my list.
Silmarien- Amen brother!
Trutina- LMAO
Morning all! A JS7? Ibanez has an S7 and Doug Doppler plays one.
I think we all need to email McFarlane Toys with the idea for the Joe Satriani figure. We need someone to draw it out and list what it should come with. I think if everyone here emailed them we'd get some sort of a call back.
Take care all.

fret goblin all the early Kirk Hammett stuff was orignally written /played by dave mustaine. his own licks did not appear until the black album(because they had used all the good mustaine riffs/licks by then).
as for saying Joe did not do his job... nobody ever said that. have you ever given a lesson....if you did you would understand. its not the teachers fault if the student doesn't use the knowledge he gains from the teacher..
some examples of joe's incredible students are alex skolnick, larry la londe, doug doppler, steve vai, ................ ..
anyhow if you like metallica thats up to you!!!!!! if somebody disagree's with you thats ok too... take it easy and have fun there is ennough music in the world for everybody!

trutina Does that js65 have a fixed bridge?
silmarien Nice to see you again.
WSB is usually quite a bit more fun than F1, but F1 can still rock when he wants to.
fret goblin (Not to suggest in any way that KH is not a good guitarist, I actually happen to quite like him, but) I'm off for a guitar lesson later today. I know that my teacher's skill will amaze me and blow me out of the water, and the same will happen next week as well. He's a really great teacher, but I'll never be as good as he is. Anyway, the black album rocks!
Talking of teachers, if anyone sometime in the future wants lessons in Sheffield, remember to contact a guy named Rob Dodds.

Everyone: Just to let you know, if you were just about to change the strings on your guitar, Martin ones are absolutely rubbish. I just put some on and I don't like them at all. Get some other brandname strings, or else just get cheap ones an save yourself some money - they'll probably be better than the Martins.

WOW - I can't wait to tell Roy all your comments later today. He is in Spain playing in 3 jazz bands with a guitarist who used to play with Al di meola - and he was blown away by Roy too. Believe me, the speed is his, not recorded slow or anything like that.
I am sure he would love to hear from anyone who has comments about his playing. his email address is roy_marchbank@hotmail.com
Tell him I gave out his email address. He can tell you all the gear he uses, few effects. He has been trying for years to get known. He did play in a Scottish band but was restricted to chord playing - crime of all crime I say. He became fairly well known in Europe when he toured there a few years ago but he is still fairly penniless and a struggling musician like most of us. He is a top guy though.
He is featured on several albums, even hip hop albums playing stuff a sequenced keyboard would normally play. Its amazing. The Seven Brass Monkeys (SBM) album is being put together and will feature Roy a lot if I get my way.
THANKS everyone. I know you will make Roy's day.
Ronnie
