Crispin: Your best bet I reckon is to go to a dixons or somewhere like that or an electrical hardware shop and ask them about it some of the better ones are usually quite knowledgable about that stuff....

Does anyone have EMG pickups at all?

hey everybody... im new here and i feel i should have my first post in the form of a story which my help you understand me. I was at the guitar store the other day (my guitar is in for repairs so i occasionally show up for a few hours a day). There was a girl sitting there with her uncle... askin him questions about guitars and guitar players. The man started telling her all about joe satriani and steve vai. She listened just as little kids do when their hearing stories about dragons and princesses and princes. she had already found a passion for music. As her uncle played and sung to her she listened intently and afterwards she selected a tiny guitar from the shelf and went to pay for it. i found out that she had been saving for a long time for this little guitar. It was amazing to see such a young girl so interested in an instrument. just thought this was a story that any musician should appreciate. Jeff

Yes, Joe did teach Steve Vai, and I believe that he used an Ibanez S series guitar for FIABD (that's what it looks like on the front cover, anyway.)

ya know, reading all these posts about people having problems, makes ya realise that everybody has problems sometimes.....it's just a part of life that we all have to deal with sometimes....and Joe isn't excluded from this part of life just because of who he is or how great he is...he has family, and friends perhaps we haven't seen him around for awhile because he may be dealing with some problems.....hopefully, he's just lying on the beach somewhere soaking up some sun and getting some peace of mind...that's something we all need to do sometimes :o)

live, love and don't let the bad stuff getcha down, deal with it and keep on strummin...

You lie on the beach, soaking up some sun, and all the world's fine. Then suddenly, you realise something, YOUR HEAD REALLY HURTS! Aargh, your scalp is painful. Your son ZZ runs up to you and asks, "Daddy, why is the top of your head all red?" Damn, why did you ever shave your head? Now you've got sunburn, whereas that Steve Vai lying on the beach with his family 20 feet away is fine! Oh well, at least you had your Oakley sunglasses to protect your eyes.

So you see, Joe can have problems, too, even if he is lying on a beach soaking up some sun, like Sammy speculates.

My friend just got a new bass amp! It's a 100W Laney. The sound is really nice and versatile. Makes me wanna get a 100W half stack... Fender's Stage 100 or Ibanez's TB100H?? Or is there something better? Any suggestions? Forget the super expensive ones though, not rich!

Yes, Matt is correct, and to add to the facts, the Radius guitars that Joe used previous to the JS model was essentially the same as his JS, except minor signature touches. The S series and the JS are still very similar in shape if you look at them from the top. From the side however, the JS is more of a strat shape with slopes and curves, the S series are like two bowls stacked together...full shape in the middles, sloping to nothing on the edges.
