Jake 49ers Yeah, I think everybody loves it when Joe does the mystical-potatoe-head-groove thing. It sounds pretty mystical! lol

invigor: Joe doesn't wear the same shirt every night. (if he did, phew!) The night I saw him he wore an Yngwie shirt. What a statement!

ovation1: I'll get anything I can get my hands on. I'm very impressed.

Matt Martinez: Maybe if nobody shared the musicians would make out better. I'm not talking about the big boys like Metallica or the Stones or those guys but the little guys who depend on record sales for a living. It's common knowledge that most tours don't make money, they're just advertising for the recorded material.

String G: I'm glad to see someone else agrees with me about Blackmore.

Have y'all seen the spin-art Strats? What about a spin art JS series or JEM Ibanez?

michelle: You're story about the pick was beautiful. Your act of kindness will be returned tenfold. What a wonderful thing to do.

PhryDom: Yeah, but the Nuge at least eats what he hunts. He doesn't just hang it on the wall.

It's true John Petrucci showed up at NY G3 tonight. It's just a shame they didn't do the show with him instead of Yngwie Malmsteen.

How is this for a bummer? I was visiting Ottawa for a month, and stayed with my boyfriend up there. So naturally I had to bring my amp, my JS and my classical to survive. His gear wouldn't cut it. Well, since we were heading towards Toronto anyways for G3, he drove me back down to Buffalo the next day. We unpacked the car. When he's finally home, 7 hours later, he asks me if I want good news, bad news, or horrible news. Well the horrible news was that we forgot to unpack my amp and it went back up with him to Ottawa. I thought I had it because the back of it looks almost exactly like my crappier amp, which was where I set my stuff next to. Ugh! I won't see my amp until Christmas :(.

Oh, and, does anyone know what chorus and delay pedals Joe uses? I absolutely love his tone. I remember that someone had a link to a picture of his pedal board but I can't find it.

Hi Joe!

It's funny, I've never been a big Petrucci fan, I recognized his guitar before I recognized him! Excellent concert (minus Yngwie Malmsteen that is).

John Petrucci played Summer Song with Joe? NICE! I wanna hear a bootleg of it...

Stu Clone - I like that metaphor...LOL.

SupaaDave - LOL! That's great...
Lyz - That's too bad about your amp. Bummer... At least it wasn't stolen or anything, though (I thought you were leading up to that when I was reading your message...).

Click here and here to see Joe's rig.

Yngwie was a jerk, really hogged the stage any time he could. It was quite embarassing. Joe/Vai/Petrucci have so much more class its not funny. Review coming up as soon as the site lets me post.

Thanks Joe and Steve! sound guy can stand to turn the volume down a bit though

HeyJoe~ My name is Russ. I and two friends of mine caught your show in Montreal, Que (the Solar/lunar eclipse period..he he), 11/07/2003. We actually drove from Halifax Nova Scotia which was in total trip miles 2734 to see the G3. What a soul-ful, wonderful experience! I cannot express to you enough how long i have waited (since july 1988) to see you guys!. You three were the ones i deeply dreamed to meet or at least see one day. Thank-you for promoting this show-it has been a dream come true! Thank-you for all the strange beautiful music. Yes i play guitar and enjoy creating music at home(Horizon studios)..small but i can at leat create! May your continuing journey be strange yet beautiful.... Blessings~

I want to build a studio. What's the first component and what is better now. Hard drive recording or ADAT?
Please say Hard Drive. It's cheaper.

Headzo, The Denogginizer, and Son Of Dad for G3!!!

Sorry...that episode of Seinfeld (The Frogger) was on tonight...I completely forgot about the scene where Kramer mentions the above alternative names for The Lopper. Funny stuff.

Hey peeps, Just introducing myself, I signed up as Mr. Wah Wah or something like that when the site was first released but when trying to login about 6months later had forgotten how it was spelt, hehe theres prolly a username of mr wahwah still in the data base. So erm this is my next attempt at signing up with a name that I can remember!

I have been a satriani fan for just under 5 years which is also the equiv. of about how long i've been playing electric guitar. I have been an Unlister for ooh, must be over a year now? I am 19 (just turned it last thurs) and goto university in the UK studying Computer Animation.

Music is very close to my heart and I am forming a band here asap. One of my biggest strengths musically is my compositional skills, they tend to be very melodic and therefore I have taken a lot of inspiration from Joe. I hope one day to return the favour :)

If anyone would like to hear some of my stuff I shall put up a couple mp3's somewhere...

Lastly to finish post i'll just give a wave and say hi to the guys like Shel, Matt King and Megaboyd who I know quite well by now ! :)

OCPS440 - well its difficult to describe the tonal differences but the Jap pedal seems a lot smoother. Yes perhaps the SEM can be quite a lot cleaner but its the smoothness I like like on the MIJ, compared obviously to the Taiwan one which just sounds abrasive. - I can record some sound clips of both if you ever wanted!!

SupaaDave - im sure you won't regret your purchase. Good luck with the bidding!

Spuddle - Look forward to hearing your tunes! make sure you let me know when you have them online - perhaps try IUMA www.IUMA.com - in case you didnt already know it!

Cheers

Olly
