Mr T

Sorry if I've rehashed old stuff. I can understand that some people may be jealous or resentful, but feel feel that such a possibility should not prevent other, more genuine folk having a chance to perform on the same stage (even if a little earlier) as the great man. I think that the majority of people in this forum would be very pleased for one of our number to be chosen. If the decision was made by Joe, then any real fan would respect that decision and be happy for the individual(s) concerned. Clarkus maximus has been a real sport, signing his CD for my son and offering his help so here's my two cents worth... Clarky for mini G3!!

BEWARE OF PAPER

AT THE BACK GLASS OF YOUR

VEHICLE

NEW WAY TO DO CAR JACKINGS

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating... You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You startthe engine and shift into Reverse.

When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED....

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away._ Remove the paper later._ And be thankful that you read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women. A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands. Please keep this going.

Thank you.

While I must say I agree with much of what you say, the analogy of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut springs to mind in your reply to Misty Angel. Not that it is any business of mine.

I'm supprised no one has mentioned anything about Joe appearing on television on MSG January 1st, at the Jammys. He was jaming w/ Grace Potter and the nocternals.. I gotta tell ya , if anyone can find it on the web let us satriani fans know about it! i'lve looked everywhere and i can't find it. But as far as the jam they had, it was awsome! i beleive it was a re-run from 2005

K, i know pedal order is preference and everybody is different, but im making this custom pedalboard and thought id like to hear opinions on the order of the pedals..

Pedals.

That's the way i have them now, the delay and super shifter have to stay there and in the loop, but everything else on the top can be changed, and if anyone has any pro's cons about whats where shoot!

thats the way i figure, the wah and talkbox have to be where they are... but the overdrive, eq and comp are for the tone and eq.... then i have the modulation fx then since they wont be as altered towards the end of the chain, and make the effect cleaner...

pedalboard diagram..

Pedalboard Diagram

Im going to wire the power leads under the board... and use custom 1/4" jacks and leads for the connections (also wire them under the board) and also i need 3 1/4" female>female connetors.. and one female>female connector for the amp footswitch... =/ cant find em anywhere though..

Also, one mroe important Q.... the JD dc birck what type of connections do you get with it, are they angled power jacks or siomple straight ones... cause i need some angled ones and cant find em...

i think i kinda have em set up[ arseways, but never bothered to rearange em much... Eq doesnt really gota go in to loop the modulations ones maybe, but any advice, shoot .. i sue the eq to change the tone a bit, add a few tihngs here n there, more of a boost, but is on a lot... the overdrive is used as a boost really...

Blue_Moon Aside from the Behringer pedals, looks pretty good. I'd put all the modulation, delay, and reverb pedals in the effects loop. I'd leave the wah, compressor, talk box, and tuner in front of the amp. What are you using the EQ for, a boost or for more EQ'ing out of the amp?

Blue Moon I'd stick the EQ in the effects loop too. It doesn't matter where you put the modulation pedals (phasor, flanger, pitch shifter, chorus) they can be in any order. But, put the delay after all of them.

Mr T

From what I understand, it would be a difficult sell commercially for the third member of G3 to be 'unknown' but for me the concept of that third person being local to the country being played is fantastic. Even if said person only played one gig , what a buzz. Clarky for G3 UK!

jblaze: Great to hear from you John! I'm glad you enjoyed TSO's Wizards and I hope you had a really nice Christmas. I'll be heading down to Fla for 4 days in 2 weeks instead of NAMM. I have to do something for my folks, they are outside of Tampa.

Mikesb: Hey Mike, for some unkown reason my PC no longer signs me in automatically to MSN..... I've noticed some weird things with it lately, no sure what's going on. I just had to request a password change for MSN. Hopefully I'll get it straightened out. I'm looking forward to drinks by the pool with SteveeT, maybe listening to Mr Lynch Jam for us. LOL We'll keep our eyes open for great Guitar in NYC.......

Satriella: Well, Dinner with the Drifters never happened. Not sure why since the Band's manager was sick as a dog.... the lead guitarist of Draw The Line didn't arrive till 6pm and that was when dinner was supposed to take place. It was a good show, not their best since the singer & Bass player were sick too. As long as I don't get it! They also played in a HS Gymnasium....not the best Venue. ;) I hope you had a great NYE. DId you happen to see the Full Moon on Monday night? Awesome!!

Blue_Moon Looks better. Do you have the EQ pedal on while using the dirty channels on the Marshall? If it is, I'd put it in the effects loop, you'll get better results. I use a Boss EQ-20 in my effects loop. Since I'm working on a rack setup, I'm thinking about getting a rack EQ unit. But, I really like the EQ-20, 9 memory locations plus the manual settings (how the sliders are currently positioned.)

Captain Steve...i think the mini G3 player would have to be a warm up....small set prior to the real G3...as you said, and Joe said

Joe Satriani on G3 Member Selection....Stevee, It's a combination of art and commerce, but the key to remember is that I have to be able to sell the package to individual promoters around the world. You know, you still have to be "invited" to play. With management, agent and promoter all working with the artists we've managed to make it happen... TV, radio and record sales always tell a good story to the promoters, but they listen to the word on the street as well. Out of respect to potential G3'ers I never discuss future touring plans until things are all set and ready to roll... Joe

Hi All - so how is the New Year for everyone? How did you all see it in?

I was harbourside at Sydney, with over 1 million other people (apparently), and had fantastic fireworks, backed by "Shine on you Crazy Diamond". It was SO cool.....

Joe - help. I think I have reverse jet lag, and it's all your fault too LOL... all that G3 business on arrival in Perth (when I probably should have gone to sleep after a day on a plane). Do you have any tips for getting past it?

I've been home about a day (I think) and now can't sleep at all.....

Big Bunny/Aussie RG - hi guys, I do love your country! It was my 2nd visit and I always want to stay. Was intending on catching you Big B at the perth show, but it was all a bit last minute. You may have seen me anyway - the tired english guy!. Aussie RG - what happened to the Sydney weather? LOL

Clarky - late congrats on the album etc. Just catching up with posts. Reverse jet lag could be a blessing as I think I just waded through 50 odd pages : )

All - if you haven't done Christmas on the beach thousands of miles from your home I thoroughly recommend it.

Satriella - looks like I may owe you one or two emails. Ok, maybe it's 5... will get to that shortly. Once I figure out transferring holiday videos to the PC. I suppose I could read the instruction manual, but that wouldn't be very blokey

Kayla - thanks for the email wish thing. Right back at ya

Best wishes to all!

oops, messed up the formatting
