Kinda surprised to see nobody comment on this (except for a really intelligent response from Mr Nick):
From http://www.vai.com/News/news.html
NATIONAL GUITAR WORKSHOP - Steve Vai and Joe Satriani are both confirmed to appear at the National Guitar Workshop at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. The workshop, running from July 7 - July 12 features some of the most influential and gifted guitarists and bassists in the music industry. Steve will guest on July 8, while Joe will appear on July 9. For locations, program information please visit the National Guitar Workshop website and click on the "Guest Artists" link.
BTW Mr Nick - I could be wrong but I'm thinking almost everyone on here is still living in June, not July. I know there are different time zones around the world but I'm pretty sure they differ in hours, not months. Sarcasm works better when you know what you're talking about :^)

Hey, does anybody know if Joe and the guys are planning to tour Europe any time soon? My friends and I had 'the priviledge' last year in London, and we just can't wait to see the guys again!!!

JSCLone1: thanks for the continued support, I now have my audio workstation up and running so i should be getting some more recording done in the future. The first project is a short demo clip for Mr. Keeley. How are you doing? Did you figure out where you want to go with guitar?

AVARICE: Yes, I do like a spliff, how astute of you. Simon Manzer; I checked out your site and I need to know one thing. Are you for real? By the way you have been self promoting on here I thought (hoped) that you may be good. Oh well. everyone needs to check out the Phyrdom site. Cool tunes and a decent attitude. Rock on Dave.

ToneCapone not sure I like being responsiblr for you getting legless!! ROFL Sounds like you had a good night anyways :-)
Compai /\/\ikey!!! :-)
greg m Three Of A Perfect Pair and Discipline. The later stuff's not a patch on it, IMHO. And happy 500!
Mr Nick good handle on the scale stuff - in my opinion it's definitely better to see scales & modes as "alterations" of the major scale. Also, good call on the three frets thing ;-) Well shot down ;-)
Guitarcake that's a good start, you could also (as Nick hinted at) just record a chugging D note for the bass, then you've got tons of different things you can play over the top - all the major scales modes, all the minor scale modes, and then all the synthetic ones too. It's great fun! Matt's point is a good one too - using chords to support the bassline that match the mode you're using. All great stuff. Good luck!
Thanks so much Hiram <blushing>! :-) You know, the self promoting of that person is kinda weird... I could go to IUMA and enter a really great comment and sign as (for example) Joe Satriani. It means nothing. Anyone can enter a comment as anyone. His main support for himself therefore is quite badly flawed ;-)
Hope your weekend is going well everyone! Catch y'all later! Dave :-)

dexterzepp: It's cool, you learned an important internet lesson and no real harm was done.
Sharif: My basement floods every once in a while too and it sucks. I ususally don't end up with standing water cause it goes to a pump but there's too much moisture to put my guitars down there like I want to. Is it an over abundance of rain or a structural problem?
r6rocker: I've heard a lot of good things about her but never heard any of her stuff other than with Jeff Beck. I'll have to find one of her cd's.

I'm a guitar student! :)
Hey everyone!- Alexandre arranged an interview for me and him on a radio station about the T2J CD!!!! He'll be there and I'll phone, cuz I'm not in that area and I have an exam the next day... But it'll be great!!!! :) It will be from 11:00 pm to 12:00 am GMT. Most of it will be in portuguese... :/ but we WILL speak english a bit and send you guys some cheers! You can listen to the radio station here: www.litoraloeste.com.
Click the top menu where it says: "Emissão Online" (2nd option) Then click the small link "aqui" and you'll hear it in windows media player (asx format). :)
For more info, talk to alexandre, cuz he's the one dealing the cards! :) I just went to the site and I think it transmits it live, but I'm not sure...
EDIT: lol! Just something I forgot to say: it'll be on Thursday the 19th. (this thursday)

Matt - How does inverting Fmaj7 change it from Amixo to Aminor. They're still the same notes, how does the scale change in the same key.
OCP - I was gonna play Christian Alsing - Nut (work my ass off learning it by ear) for school in 2 days but I won't be getting the backing track from Christian in time. So then I thought of just putting together a solo act but then thought "nahhhh".
