What I've heard about the chord notation is that you write it Bm7add11 (but other notations are ok as well depending on school or whatever), and you don't play all of the extensions because (at least in guitar) you can't, can you? you can't play 1-3-5-7-9-11 ---> 7 notes in six strings :) so you decide for yourself which ones you don't play, for example, 9th and 5th maybe or the ones you prefer...

Anyway I'm with sugarbear a little bit... if you play such a chord (which maybe isn't a common one) better chose the notes which you think sound better and forget about notation...

can't think of nothing else to write about... have fun!

Viking - Yeah I know Pete. Actually, I am the one that didn't shave my head.

962 - Well Joe words things as nice as possible. "...isn't used to jamming with other people...", "...comes in half way through my or Steve's solo..." ... Ha, I asked Joe is he could drive stick. He said he could if he needed to. He said he learned on an old bug. He used to also drive around an old Chevelle that was so rusted out, it had to have the rear supported with rope tied to either rear door. Also, I think his brother in law is a mechanic... or was it his Cousin... or brother... confused now.

Joe - I hope you made a lot of backstage footage for the G3 DvD? I'd really like to see some good bonus material, maybe even a documentary on G3 itself? Just a lil somethin-somethin for yo possey, ;).

Hi Joe, I'm new to your site, but I've been a fan for decades. I first discovered you after reading an interview in a guitar magazine with Steve Vai. I ran to my local record store and ask for any recordings by you. They said that they hadn't heard of you and showed no listings of you. One week later I found "Not of this Earth" in the classical section of that very same store(all of this took place in the early 80's). I've been hooked ever since and turned my local guitar community onto your stuff. You are such an influence to me. Thanks for everything. One question: Why did you change the cover of "Not of this Earth"? I loved the art work and I still have that album!!

I can't believe no-one's mentione d the new DT album yet (unless I've missed that comment)... since it's been released in England. You Americans get it tomorrow... it's sounding good to me.... some interesting surprises...

As I am has been downloadable and is pretty good methinks. The last track is excellent, the album in general is pretty heavy. I was surprised by the second track since....

SPOILER

it's a continuation of track 1, SDOIT.

END SPOILER There's more swearing than usual. Good album though.

I also got my hands on the Revolutions Soundtrack (score)... haven't given it a proper listen yet, but I do really like Don Davis' work.

Hey I'm back! Holy crap! I was gone for 3 days and there are 800 messages to read. I didnt' read every single one but thanks for the birthday wishes.
Do the Stu the pictrues I was talking about... remember when you used to come to the site and at the bottom of the first page there was two links for photo galleries. One was to aftershow and the other was concert pics and it had the date from the show. I was wondering how to look at all of those, they all aren't from the Strange Beautilful Musci Tour because some said 2000 and 2001. Just wondering.

Did anyone see Saturday Night Live this weekend? I was gone and didn't see it. I bet the musical guest sucked as usual. Who thinks that it would be cool to see Joe and the band on SNL? I do, even though he only gets two songs or whatever. He would get to be on national tv and maybe it would help premote his music. Anyway, I think that would be cool cause he is the best and he should be on it.

PHRYDOM - David Lee Roth is a show man. Gregg Gissonette told us that DLR on Tour is insane :-), a really funny guy. Thanks by the link. Regards!!

DCK - i will try to get a copy of STEVE MORSE`S DVD. Thanks by your advice. Take care.

DCK, still sending good vibes your way. Feel better soon!

Sharif, congrats on the new truck! Drive safe!

38 degrees & raining in Green Bay makes for some good football. Go Eagles :) (even though I'm a Niners fan)

hi, joe i know that you get these things all of the time, and take your time to read them. So I will be quick First i loved your g3 concert that you did in chicago,il. Second, I remember you saying that 99.9% of your influence in playing the guitar is from jimmi hendrix, well, i would just like you to know that you have past that down to me, and i admire you as much as you did jimmi. 99.9% of playin the guitar came from you. I would just like to say thanks.. thanks for everything.....p.s give me an e-mail at satriani7117@aol.com, i would love to know what you thought of my comment.

The Bm debate: Play bass...

G|-----|

There ya go...Bmwhatever. :-)

fret goblin 01 - Welcome back.

962 - I haven't heard much from DLR recently. I've never seen him live, but I haven't heard many positive things about his recent performances. He toured with Sammy Hagar a few years ago and was basically blown off the stage night after night.
sugarbear - I listened to your song when you posted it originally... It sounds pretty cool (so far).
The Prez - We've only heard the "heavy" comment once or twice, so it isn't really enough to influence a decision. I'm expecting an album full of stuff like Belly Dancer, Mind Storm, Seven String, and The Traveler. This is all speculation at this point, though.

Joe hasn't had a signature amp in the past because he hasn't used many customized amps.

frak - Joe almost always meets with fans after every show. I bet you'll get to meet him (and get an autograph) next time he's in town.
unchained - Each band plays for about 45-55 minutes, and then Yngwie and Steve join Joe and his band for 30 minutes or so.
death cube K - That Steve Morse DVD is awesome.
fused - That would be three minutes per page, not five.
Jake 49ers - All of the pictures are accessible from the "road" page. Check the links below the tour dates.

SNL is so horrible...I can't believe it. This Saturday's musical guest was awesome, though. Dave Matthews and his solo band were on the show. He's going on tour with Tim Reynolds and Trey Anastasio...those two guys sound great playing together.

michelle - Rain makes football fun. I miss snowy games...::sniffle::

LOL! I was just going to say that I think Joe drives some sort of SUV. ;-) How did you know I would know (Or, if I'm wrong, how did you know that I would think that I know? Confused yet?)?

...Austin...
