Bad bad bad Dave !!! I had to temporarily give up my Ibanez RG so I could have some $$$ in my pocket.....the economy sux up here right now, I'm having a hard time finding work. I wish I could walk straight up to the White House and kick George Bush square in the nuts.

On a happier note...I finally got my Honda Accord in the shop... (I got shmucked by a deer last November).....I found out my insurance covered a rental car....they gave me a 2001 Chevy Impala....the rental is nicer than my own car !! LOL...I should just keep the Chevy and let them keep my car ;)

SOTD....."Don't Pawn Your Guitar".......not really a song but a good title I think.

Edit: Whats with the weird double-half post? Did I do that?

Matt Martinez- Happy Birthday... hope its a great one...

UF Dean- good luck with your exams... dont let senioritis get too much of a hold on you.... little is ok, too much is not worth it... trust me on this... lol....

Austin- thanks for the clarification on the stage directions, i always wondered that... yeah i was kind of bummed out at the concert because the camera man didnt really pan much, but i thought hey they will be all over backstage, nope... oh well still fun to have documentation of the concert i was at... IF I EVER GET IT!!! hope sony comes through today... as a wierd side note... i was all excited yesterday because i finally caught a spelling/grammar error in one of your posts (no i am not anal and go over it with fine tooth comb... but this one popped out at me) just getting ready to call you on it, and i realized it was my mistake because it was a wierd exception due to pronuciation... damnit! lol... ok i know i just demonstrated that i need a life.... anyone know where to find one? :)

Sava- lol... i love that... maybe youre right...

Hope all in Satchland have a good morning... and if you are waiting for sony, i hope they come through for you today...

Shogun Vai.....I'll be able to un-pawn it by next monday only because I'm playing two gigs this weekend. And yes, I still have a 1973 Fender Strat that plays like a dream. I would'nt take that guitar within a mile of a pawn shop...lol !

Now that I think of it...I sure am glad I learned to play guitar....it has gotten me through some really tough times as far as money and mental well-being is concerned.

Julie, we've already gotten directions where the guy told us to turn at the Martin's old barn ~ this being in a country setting with plenty of friggin' barns to choose from. lol! I hate when people ask me directions, especially if there are a lot of turns. Sometimes I just say "ya can't get there from here" and direct them to someone else for directions. Believe me, sometimes they're better off with no directions than my girl directions. LOL!

Mikey, Joe has more P.R. reps than he knows. lol! I hook him up every time I go into a music store. lol!

njbeast, Z.Z. is not Joe the second ~ He's Z.Z. The FIRST!! lol!

Ben E, I'm right handed, so THIS WAY is right, THAT WAY is left. I thought that was universal! lmao!

UF Dean, these tests are very important. Study and keep your mind focused on school until your tests are done. The DVD will still be there when it's all over, plus you'll have something cool to watch to let off all that steam afterwards :)

Happy birthday Matt Martinez!

Hey Phrydom - Thanks for checking out my tunes, I get what you mean with the harmonized parts in The Animal.I'll give it a little fix up this week end :o) Over the last few months, I've been playing lots of show, writing, & teaching. My brother got a record deal doing country music, so I've been busy with his music as well. Sorry to hear you sold off your gear, but your still writing so that's a good thing, I'll check out your site later today.

Hi Michelle :o)

rusty dog - I think Joe played the original version of The Power Cosmic at one of his shows (the Concord one).

Joe played a few bars of The Power Cosmic 2000 (Part II) during his Rockin' In The Free World at the G3 show I saw (Greek Theater, Los Angeles).

tetovo - I think the webcast is still archived on one of the Dutch websites that sponsored the event. I don't speak Dutch, though, so I can't help you...sorry.
PhryDom - I'll be the first person to say that most radio stations in the US are absolutely terrible. Most stations are owned by Clear Channel or Viacom, so they're all starting to sound the same.

The station I mentioned (95.5 KLOS) is one of the few "good" stations that is still out there. They're owned by ABC / Disney... The Bone in SF seems to be one of the other few "good" stations, although I think KLOS is still MUCH better.

Tight means cool according to some people, yeah. I'll never be caught dead using the word that way, though.

Shogun Vai - I'd love to hear your thoughts on the DVD, whenever you get it. ;-)

Yeah, there's also that meaning of tight...haha...

juju808 - What was the grammar mistake that you thought you found? Just wondering... So...you do this kind of stuff when you don't want to do school work? ;-)

PhryDom caught one of my funniest grammar mistakes ever on this site...I think it happened about a year ago. I spelled "definitely" as "definately". He called me on it, and I said something like "Oops...I didn't realize that."...without thinking, I then said "I definately won't make that mistake again."... Ha! I spelled it wrong again without realizing it...

Well, I have to go to class... Good luck with Sony today, everyone... :-)

...Austin...

Phryg - If your Floyd is the same as mine, you could have some fun drilling the bass-plate... the nancy-assed Ibanez bridges are either brass or mild steel with a hard outer coating.. so these can be drilled out.. you need to start with a small drill to punch through the coating and then you can start going up to a bigger drill..
most of the Floyds a mild steel with a hard outer coating..

if you have a shit lot of agro drilling it, it could well be made of nitrided high carbon steel - regular grade tank armour.. so a high speed steel drill will dig through the chrome.. and simply get hot 'till it glows and then is totally fucked...
even tungest carbides may break a sweat getting through it.. diamond will cut it..

I was lucky.. I was an engineer with the MoD at the time.. so when I found that I couldn't cut mine I took it down to the metallurgy labs.. they figured out what it's made of and electro-spark eroded the hole for me...

it's worth trying the easy way first though.. lmao.. and then again with tungsten if you can't get through..

Yoda - I thought that would be an interesting session with DS - I'm kinda more than a little jealous...
and most importantly...
did you ask him if the minging ginger tart takes it up the bullet hole?
Shogun - I'm going back into the lab tonight - despite a fresh head full of snot delivered to my by one of my snotty kidz.. I know what I'm looking for for the next mix so snot or now snot.. I'll be able to get a little closer.. and in a few days, I'll cut my kid down from his bedroom wall and nail him back up the right way... I don't believe in punishments lasting too long..

I'll ping you to let you know whe the CD arrives.. once again.. thanx a mill..

olly - me? I'm pretty lucky.. I can hear stuff and score it out.. all instruments... however.. for you it don't matter.. so long as your compositional notes are in a form that you can unterstand.. chord charts, notes about the tempo, key, tone and vibe etc... if no one else has to read it then you can figure a way out [unless of course you can sight read...then you can use that].. being able to compose without being tied to an instrument is definately a freer way to write music.. this means that you are not confined by your technique.. you write.. and if it's hard, your playing ability has to catch up...
shogun - I rekon Vai is god.. so if the movie shows him switching guitar for a single note within a blistering solo and switching back.. then I rekon he had a good reason for doing it and I rekon he did it cos the movie sed so cos Vai is god and can do anything and the movie says so and proves it and because Vai taught Bob Marley how to shred and because his brother Pia is awesome on a 7 string flute but mostly cos Vai is god and cos everyone luvs him sept Phryg cos if he duz he'll say so but he is still god anyhow...

Austin- No i dont do that as a way of stalling on homework... lol... there are just a few things that i usually catch that bother me... like your and youre and a or an... yesterday when you were doing your dvd review you said "an yngwie fan" and when i first read it i thought it was wrong because in my head i was doing the ying pronunciation... once i corrected myself and did the ing pronunciation it was correct... argh... lol...

EDIT- ok, nevermind... it went back to normal size... lol... thought I was seeing things there for a minute... :)

Julie: Yeah, I just figured I got through high school OK with it, so since I already got accepted to a grad school, I just won't worry about it as long as I get C's. I realize that it's gonna be harder to get into law school after next year if I completely screw around, but since I know all my profs from at least the last 2 semesters before this, I'm not too worried.
Michelle: nah...not that important ;) I'm not blowing them off or anything...I'm actually studying pretty hard once they do come up. I'm just not doing much inbetween...watching the DVD as I type this, and it's AWESOME so far! Then again, is it me or does the sound on Midnight suck? Just sounds a bit fuzzy to me. Played perfectly but still...oh well.
