use the d'addario 9's, they rust and get old a bit too soon for my liking, but down to the individual i guess, DR and elixers last forever

id go back to em but ive a 10 pack of d'addrio;s to get through

Joe, just got my tickets for the show in Detroit on Dec 16th. I am so excited as this will be my first show for you and I have been a fan of yours for many years!!! I am taking my wife and she is thrilled. My friend met you there a few years ago when he brought his "Chrome Boy" to the show and you signed it for him. That was AWESOME!!! I go over and see it all the time and touch it for good luck! Can't wait for the new album and can't wait for the show. Keep on riffin and blowing our minds. You are indeed a legend!

I came to tell everybody that I won't be able to go to either of the concerts in NYC. I did find one ticket that was pretty damn good for only $75.00. It was only 6 rows away from the stage too. But I need somebody to come with me, because I can't go into the city alone. You can't trust anybody in NYC. That means that person would have to pay for their ticket and the ferry would have to be for two people.

The ferry, round trip for two people, is 40 f***ing dollars. That means the bill for the entire trip would come out to above 210 dollars. I don't have a job and my parents don't make money like they used to because of the economy. I've been looking for a job since January! Two applications at Shop Rite and Two at Target. DAMN!!!! What the hell do I have to do?!

I also came to tell everybody, especially those of you who haven't been to a Satriani concert yet, that I hope you guys have a good time. I hope you have a great time. I hope you have a friggin' excellent time, because I sure as hell know I won't, spending that night in my room.

This is kind of a blunt way to put it, but I blame Obama for this completely screwed up economy we have today. Forget about the concert for a second. I'm talking about how my mother, who had a successful life as a nurse, now has her hours and pay cut in half. And how my uncle had a job that provided him a decent living now is in f***ing unemployment.

This isn't just about the concert. Yes, it would have been my first concert and I've been looking forward to it for quite some time, but that is not the main reason I'm pissed off. The reason for this rant is because, life is unfair for the people who truly deserve a good life. This is mostly concerning my mother and my three uncles. And I've been looking for a job for 8 months. 8 MONTHS!!! This has been a long time coming although I've never told anybody about it.

Why can't my mother and my uncles have a good living?? Because the economy sucks. And is Obama doing anything to fix it??? No. Absolutely not. It gets worse every, single day.

And again, I hope everybody enjoys the concerts. I'll just have to wait for the next album to come out and pray to God that this one will come out on DVD. :)

Let's hear it for Dog With Crown And Earring!!!!

Oxley- Sorry to hear you can't make it to the show, dude. I too have been looking for a job since February when I got out of the Air Force. On top of that, I have some medical issues to deal with that limit the scope of what I can do, so I have to tighten my search down amongst the very few jobs that are available in Idaho right now to something that I'm actually able to do. I'm sure Obama will pull a few billion out of the air and throw together another stimulus one of these days; that should fix everything. Again.
Hopefully you can keep your ears peeled for a ticket giveaway on the radio, good idea, Freddy. Maybe they'll even give away a couple premium packages!

Oxley - from what you posted it sounds like a tough time. It's frustrating when things you can't control don't go your way and hold you back. I'm not sure how old you are or what your skills are, but is there anything, other than a job, that you can do to earn money such as re-selling things on eBay for profit, teaching people or kids guitar for cash, doing helping jobs for neighbors for cash, running errands, anything like that? Can you make things? What are you good at? Can you tutor younger students? Just trying to give you ideas. Maybe you're an entrepreneur and don't know it :)

jeepers nealry burnt the house down yesterday!

Put the pan on to cook some bacon, then it was tipping down with rain so offered to give other half a lift to work...came home to find the house full of smoke and I mean FULL ...had to open all the windows and stand by the window to breath...

thing was I had just paid for contents insurance that day but it didn't start till midnight...how frustrating would that have been, if the house had have burnt down 4 hours before I had contents insurance....

phew!

Anyone else had a close shave like that???

And dont say Joe has had a close shave on his head either!

LOL

I know how it feel when you never gotten your fair chance to see satriani live in concert, , to tell you the truth? Maybe you can pair up into group rates someday instead buying individual tix, it is much cheaper to go as in groups instead chipping in on individual tix.

As for not being able to find a good job over the months? I can suggest that you can try enroll into your local community college to get a certificate on whichever courses you want to take, once you complete your college goals? you can easily find a career making big bucks per month, but it won't be easy either, because nothing is guarantee in life, hope this help.

Received my free download of Joe's new song, Light Years Away.

Awesome song. I hoped the entire album would have downloaded, but for now, 1 is enough.

Great work.

Looking forward to the rest of the album.

Just as long as nobody misunderstands me, I have a pretty good life considering. It's the way that the economy is affecting my family. And now that I'm directly involved in it, because I need a job, it really gets to me. I mean, it just absolutely amazes how bad things are right now because of one of the worst presidents ever.

The American Dream is to work, make a living, and raise a family. I'm not even close to raising a family. But anyway, I want to be able to make myself money so I don't have rely on my parents and I can take some of the burden off their shoulders so it's not so hard for them. But how the hell am I supposed to do that if I can't get a damn job?! No job means The American Dream goes right out the window. And this is a reality to so many people in America now.

It's like saying "Okay, only half of you in this room are allowed to have hopes and dreams, and the rest of you aren't, because we told you so."

I'm sorry about another rant. When I start talking about a subject I can't stop.

Now back to the main thing. I just want to help my parents out by providing for myself. I just angers me that there is nothing I can do but wait for somebody to give me an e-mail saying "You're hired". Or something of that nature.

And let me tell you. Time and Money are not friends of mine. I'll let Pink Floyd do the talking.

Still a little pissed that I can't go to the concert. But I'm getting over it. It's not like I saw the tickets and I really wanted to go. Oh no. That's not the story at all. I've been wanting to go to a concert since I saw Satriani LIVE! when I bought it a little over a year ago. To my misfortune, I became a fan right after the end of the PSATMOR tour. So technically I'll be a fan for four years and not have been to one of his concerts.

I have to be one of the weirdest Satch fans you have ever heard of.

And from all of the hype, this album, although it hasn't come out yet, is rumored to be one of his best albums in a while.

I've told everybody many times that my favorite album is Crystal Planet. And if this album turns out to be just as good or even better, I will be pissed off even more. Call it bittersweet, but that's what it's going to be. Because I'm not going to be able to see it live.

Sorry everybody for another long message. But can you guys do me a favor??? Whoever has excellent tickets like really up close, can you record and put it on Youtube for me?? I would really appreciate it. :)

Oxley - I hear what you're saying and it sounds like economically things are pretty bad in your area. It is also a fact that most people earn their living and achieve their dreams (and buy concert tickets) from working at a paid job. So when jobs are scarce it gets tough. If jobs are in fact scarce then that might be the time to find and exhaust other ways that you can legally earn money. It's harder than getting up and going to a job and going home again, but if there are no jobs at least you can look at finding opportunities and try them. You can't control the government or the economy or the amount of jobs there are but you can control what you do, the actions you take, who you meet and introduce yourself to and so on . Best of luck.
