I do have a ticket for that L.A show, but i wasn't there last week im afraid

I hope it doesn't change, forums are a bit dead and boring, and im sure ".coms" are down visitors too with the new facebook/twitter taking over the world jazz, i think if this forum changed it woulnd't be have as popular or fun, it prob is a bit confusing to follow sometimes but its fine really

I agree, I like the board just like this. To me, it's all the different sections of a message board that tend to stress me out, personally. I was just thinking about the way this board is today, thinking, it's amazing how un-strained I feel to not have to check out different subjects within different various threads. This way, I can read everything that's going on in one shot. No click here, then click there to a different forum. I hope it Doesn't change either. Ever. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alan--- Cool, maybe can meet up somewhere in the duration of the show? Did you get Club joe? If not, would like to meet ya and others after or something. Would be fun even if it's just for a little while :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CAN SOMEONE HELP ME: What is Joe tuned to on "The Golden Room"?

Pip55-----so envious :) How much practice, patience, mental and motor skills it must take to be able to play like that. I long to be that good someday. But I feel so hampered. Need lessons desperately, no money for them. I had lessons when i first started, learned just the basics then had to stop taking them because of, you guessed it, lack of money. And no friends etc.....to help me out since. I just feel I really need alot of help. And no way to get it. It is the worst thing to be messing around with the guitar for as long as I have, and to still NOT be consistent and good. Makes me want to consistenly say fuck it, and give up most days. But I got re-inspired by bringing Joe back into my life, and thanking God for it. THANK YOU JOE................ Any guitarists words of encouragement is gladly welcome. thanks, Suzi

Peace - thanks. I don't know what's got into me at the moment but it's just all coming out on the fretboard lol. Shame I didnt make Napa, would have been cool to hang out. Was it your first Joe show?

Rhythmsteady - I can't say my practice routine is good of late... for which Joe will shoot me. Just set little goals. I had little more than a 30 minute window yesterday so figured I'd learn a song & record it, hence the video. Just dont give up, keep plugging away. Joe inspires me too - maybe go check some of his online lessons? There are lots of amazing video (and other) resources online, all free, so try that maybe - and of course plenty of players on the board so ask away

Hey Joe- Love the new album. The Golden room and wormhole wizards are my favorite. The groove in wormhole just sticks in my head- love the drums and keyboard solo- nice departure. QUESTION: I ordered your album online with the ticket promo and I thought the CD was supposed to be autographed- please inform if you can. Otherwise I will bring it with me when I see you in Texas- will try to catch you backstage. Keep on rocking- you are the best.

Hi from Oz Joe,(tropical Newcastle to be exact).Picked up the new album Saturday and loved it (as always). An instant favourite was "The Golden Room" actually.Really enjoy your more "Eastern sound" ala " Moroccan Sunset".Mike Keneally's keyboard work is pretty special too, adds a new colour to your arrangements, really lovely.Hope you come down this way again soon, saw you in 1990 on the Blue Dream tour and haven't been able to get a ticket since.(No I'm not after a freebie)lol.20 years is leaving it a bit too long.Cheers.

Hey Joe! I am really diggin your new stuff, love the dynamics. I 'll be at your gig in Montreal on the 12th of December. I would like to mention to you that I have a special initiative going to help the people of Haiti rebuild their home. I build custom guitars and hold lotteries for them on my web site www.gunnercustomguitars.com . All the proceeds will go to the Red Cross for the Haitian relief fund, aside from guitar building costs. Right now I am trying to get various companies to donate guitar parts, pick ups and electronics to the cause and have their banners up with honourable mention on my site. I know and understand that your an incredibly busy man but I also believe you to be a conscious individual of the terrible things that happen around us. I just want to try and make a difference out there. Many people talk the talk but when it comes time to walk, you know the rest. Setting an example for my son is important to me, I want him to lean from this undertaking that the feeling of helping and giving last a life time and can be hopefully contagious. If your up to it Joe, I have a request. I would like to video interview you for my website and if you would help me to promote my initiative . It would be a blast. Now, I don't know what your PR people would say to it but I would like to think that it would be up to you. Well, the ball is in your court Joe. You can contact me at tommigunn@gunnercustomguitars.com if you want to get a hold of me. Thanks for reading Joe and I appreciate your time. See you December 12th, Rock and Roll Joe!! Cheers Mate!!

Sincerely Tommi Gunn

Rhythmsteady- I ordered the Deluxe Edition (CD+ DVD) of PSATMOR here. Like I said earlier, they sent me the Malaysian version, so it has the import stickers on the front and back inserts. That information wasn't noted on the product description, and right now it says it's backordered, but should ship in 3-10 days.

If you are looking for the autographed version of the regular album, I picked that up at newburycomics. They said stock was running low last week, so there may not be any listed there now.

Ian

Pip- It was my very first JOE show and it was great . But what made it even more special was sharing it with great people that love JOE as much as I do , I think I speak for every one of us when I say that we wish you could have been there too.

JOE

I'm loving the album so far. I appreciate the fact that you have kept the Eb tuning from Chickenfoot, yet you have picked "standard tuning" friendly keys for most tunes. I think this gives the music a different quality. At first I wasn't sure how of what you were doing in some of those tunes, but after checking out the podcasts I figured it out! Or at least I think I did...

Well done, sir! Well done...

I don't think JOE was using a drop tuning on Wormhole Wizards... Can you tell me at what point of the song you hear something that may give you that impression? I might have to go back and listen to it some more...

Hi Joe! Wonderful album again, thanks very much for it. Two things:

My favourite track is Wormhole Wizards, probably because its groove sounds like you're surfing with the alien again, and frankly, that's just awesome!

Now about Wind in the Trees: That's another tremendous piece of art. Is it just me, or does this song - accidentally, subconsciously or maybe even full well deliberately - sound like John Paul Jones playing No Quarter live in Madison Square Garden on a cool Nick Mason drum line from somewhere around the Wish you were here era? And it's not just the tremolo that does that! But in any case, were such references purposely made, they would only add to the noble beauty of this song. Really great!

Rhythmsteady - Just stick with it. start slow and try to be as accurate as you can. I've been playing for a LONG time and have spent the last year or so just correcting bad picking habits. Also, one thing that Paul Gilbert said I've been working on is to practice all your stuff starting with both and up stroke and a down stroke. I start most passages with a down stroke but have found that there are quite a few that if started with and up stroke are much cleaner. Good luck and be patient with yourself.

Still waiting for my copy of the new CD. Hopefully it will be in the mailbox tonight.

Any body else into Scar Symmetry? I got turned on to them recently and I'm really enjoying them even with the Cookie Monster verses.
