Back from Swiss. Most civilized and decent country in the world. Space. Had a great relaxed and healthy time with my friends there.
28 T2J pages behind, I will not even try to catch up.
As of sept. 20 unemployed, maybe I should pick up guitar teaching agian.

Tracie- I will be the big bald guy who needs a shower because he stood in line all day ..because he couldn't decide if he could go to Atlanta until all VIP tickets were gone. But anyway...I'll be thinking about you guys.

We are staying close to the venue so maybe I can keep an eye on the line and jump in if I need to.

Skippy- If I see a camera on me, I'll be sure to wave to the T2Jers.

If you are there, come by and say Hi to Burly and Mrs. Burly. I think I may wear a "Got Riffs" T shirt. and do some advertising for my man Dave.

GuitarVibes-I thought you had been quiet lately. Glad you enjoyed the trip.

Anyway our flight leaves this afternoon so I am going to pack.

Enjoy your weekend!

Atlanta T2Jers- Where are the good places to eat in the downtown area? We are not packing attire to go to Ruth's Criss

Do the Stu- It's a shame you are not from Atlanta and could share your knowledge of dining there.

Don and Peace Lily, glad you liked that long CF video....I found it on youtube and put the link here, but it's not my vid, I wasn't at that particular show. In fact I don't know which show it's from other than it has to be one before the Atlantic City gig as it was posted on youtube Aug 21, and our gig was Aug 22. Do you know where it was? Whoever did the vid did a fantastic job!!

I was at the Atlantic City show with my peeps there...too bad you didn't make that one too, lol!! Joe-HO'S that you are :))) It's a great label, wear it proudly, lol!!

chelle...what happened IS very sad and you're absolutely right. I've seen it time and time again, the grip that drugs have on people. I'm not sure what the "x" factor is that some people have that helps them kick their addictions, but so many just can't. It's very complicated because so much can play into how they got into drugs in the first place...family environment, their mental/emotional health, socio-economic status, the friends they chose...the list goes on and on. I know that ultimately it is the person's free will and choice that first leads them down this path, but some people are just so damaged to begin with that they are easy targets for addictions to take root. I see it all the time in my job. By the time they get to us....they barely have enough brain cells left to even tell me their name. It's incredibly frustrating, and sad. I wish it was as easy as grabbing them, shaking sense into them, and making them just STOP. Instead...we deal with the shell that's left behind.

Anyways.....

Found this write-up from Aug 27th's show... here. The author LOVES Davey Knowles (who doesn't!) and says good things about Chickenfoot.

burly, you and wifey have a fantastic time at the show...I know alllllll about the long wait in line, my son and I do it all the time but it's SO worth it!! As skippy said, WAVE..and wave BIG so we can see ya on the dvd, LOL!!

WHY am I up this early on a Saturday FFS!!!

So apparently Aerosmith's Brad Whitford jammed with Chickenfoot during the encore of the Charlotte show on 8/27. Was anyone there? I looked on YouTube but didn't see anything.

Ibanezplyr - Ah, too bad...it'd be great if you were at the show. I don't think I'll be able to stop by that day to see you and say "hey" (I'll be busy with family), but maybe another time!
michelle - I've read Aerosmith's Walk This Way from 1997...there are SO many drugs in that book. Steven tells stories of how he's so F'd up he'd not bother to tie his shoes, and how his sides would be bruised because he couldn't even walk through a door correctly.

I've also read bits and pieces of The Dirt, Motley Crue's bio.

You haven't started reading the Slash bio yet, have you? I got it recently but haven't started yet...let me know when you do and I'll try to read it at the same time.

Guitarvibes - Welcome back!

Sorry to hear about your job, but at least you know ahead of time...right?

burly - Have an awesome time at the gig! You're representing T2J on video...do us proud.

I do have one piece of Atlanta dining knowledge, but I don't know how helpful it'll be: breakfast at the Burger King at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta is pretty good. ;-)

I had a layover there for a few hours while flying to NY for Dream Theater's Score CD/DVD recording in 2006.

Speaking of Dream Theater, my dad and brother are flying to LA right now and we're going to the show tonight. DT is one of my dad's favorite bands, and it's his birthday today! So it should be a good show. I'm also taking him to see It Might Get Loud, since it hasn't opened up in Sacramento yet.

And Skippygirl, since I know you'll ask ;-), I'm not staying at my apartment tonight so I won't be able to post a review until sometime tomorrow. But I will post one.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

cheese; that was definately the CT show at the Mohegan Sun Casino. like I said we were about 5 or 6 rows to the right of the person who took those vids. believe me if we had any money left we would have been in NJ, NY, SC and any other east coast show they did.

found this link on Chad's beanning of Joe in Boston, in Chad's own words! click here about half way down the page under the question "like Chickenfoot hows the tour going"

Guitarvibes--Sorry to hear about your job. My older sister lost her job about a week ago at Charles Schwab. Her department, cash control was moving to Phoenix. Then within a month or so they decided to move to someplace in Florida. What a mess. She knew the general direction of things for the past year, but not the details. Now she has 2 1/2 months of vacation and sick pay and in October she can apply for unemployment benefits and will get some kind of severence pay. She may have to rent a room from a friend if she can't afford to rent her present apartment. Why does life have to be so hard! ;-(

I'm trying to smile even though I don't feel like it. I still have a job at the library and that's a good thing. I have a guitar buddy who seems to like me. Steve the husband who keeps on going through seizures and headaches and rarely complains!

Check this out coutresy of aplusk.

Austin, The Dirt was a good book. I might start Slash's book tomorrow, but I take it to work so I can read it on breaks & lunch, so it's gonna take me weeks to finish it. To many distractions at home to read much.

Don, great find with Chad's interview! I love the clip at the bottom! I already have it dl'ed and on my mp3 player. lol! I hope somebody yells when that cd is released! I'ma git it!

Axe, I've heard Joe get angry a few times. Sept. 11 was one time, and when his UNreleased cd was stolen/leaked from Sony (I think it was Sony), and maybe a few other times. Heard him swear before too. He's just a dude. lol! He's one of THEE most optimistic mofo's I've ever had the pleasure to meet, and for that I love him dearly, but he gets pissed just like the rest of us. He's extremely polite and well mannered, and a total sweetheart of a man...but he is Italian :-)

As for Chad's hickory sticks, just weighing it in yer hand you know it has some power behind it. He ain't using no chopsticks up there to throw down those beats. He's a manly man who uses manly sticks! LOL! Poor Joe. That had to throw some colors into his vision for a minute or two getting popped by a funk blaster! lmao!

Weezie, I'm comin' Weezie!

lmao!

Burly, even if you get the 2nd, 3rd, ot 4th row, it's gonna be fanfuckingtastic! lol! Chad was whippin' those stick UP to the balcony in AC! Not sure if any of them made it, but even if they didn't, peeps half way back were getting showered with them! He also puts a lil' pepper on that tambourine when he hurls it out there too! Like I said to Joe, I love to watch him play, but yer stupid if you take yer eyes offa Chad for to long. He's feckin looney I tells ya! LOL! I hope yer surrounded by great people at yer show. That makes it so much better! After our show, some dude came up to me and said he saw that I took some pictures. He handed me one of Chad's sticks and said he'd give it to me if I emailed him some of my pics. DEAL bro! Sharing is caring! lol! Being surrounded by people who have a good vibe is so cool. Everybody wants everybody to have a good time.

I stood right behind this dude, so that was my view too more or less. Before anyone asks, I'm not in the audience shots :-) After Sammy smacked his hand, I grabbed his back and congratulated him. I'm sure others did too, which is why the cam went wiggly. lol! Nice guy, and his tiny wifey and her sister/friend were nice too.

Hi...just a quick post from my phone. There was a huge drum solo at the end of Dream Theater's set, with the other drummers on the tour. And then there was a HUGE jam with Dweezil Zappa and...Steve Vai. The crowd went nuts when he was introduced. It was insane. More from me tomorrow...

Goodmorning Sundaymorning!
Burly, Scuba, DTStu, GG2 thanks for the support. I could worry about loosing the dayjob, but I try to see it as opportunity for something much better. They did give reasons for not giving a new contract, but the reality (hidden truth) of course is that it is too risky to give a contract to someone who had a heartinfarct earlier this year. Yep it's a cold world.
Do The Stu the DT drum and Steve Vai thing is crazy!
ANY news on the Satchafunkilus Paris DVD???

Listening to: Neil Young - Unplugged
(Do you also find Neils songs have something comforting?)

Michelle- I'll keep my eye on Chadster, My wife has not had good luck in concerts. In 88 Monsters of Rock, she got caught in the eye with a flying belt buckle...Thing was I couldn't kick the guys ass because the whole stadium was in the middle of a paper cup war. It was like a blizzard so I couldn't see where the shoes and belts were coming from.

Scuba- I paid 9.95 / day for this crappy wireless connection. If I can get Mafia Wars to work, the energy packs are on the way.

Enjoy your Sunday!!

Hey Scuba This Mafia Wars thing is kinda hard to figure out as far as Mafia members. Out of curiosity, how many members are you able to see? I am showing 19.

I don't usually do this because I am a germophobe.. but I think it's time for coffee in the little room mini-brewer. This place is actually quite nice so maybe they sanitized it....
