Hmmm, girl directions. Yes I've commented on them before. I would have said "left" was "this way" and "right" was "that way"...but that could be the Australian/British left/right philosophy as opposed to the American/European right/left...or it could be that you (Michelle) meant it the other way...
One reason I don't mind going the wrong way (because I didn't ask directions) is that you learn a new area, so next time you won't be lost. I now know the back streets a lot better from not knowing which way to go.
I hope you guys don't have that super-swollen face thing happen to you! A few people I know had that after their wisdom teeth came out. My mouth is pretty small too...but I'm not a large person at all anyway.

Glad you feel the samn way Phrydom and SupaDave. I however dissagree that Janie Hendrix has made Jimi more popular than he was before. I am positive that most people who knew of Hendrix and his music knew before she came around.

Why does Joe rock?
My answer is not "yes" or "no"...since neither of those answers make any sense...so...I'll just say: "because I said so!"
(Thanks Mum for those ever inspiring words...)
Okay, I've got to see a man about a bog. Actually no, it's not one of those - just a slash.

I know the intro to Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns 'N' Roses but I don't even know the song! My in structor gave it to me as an assignment so I know it (you just refreshed my memory thanks!) but I don't know anything else about it.
Shogun Vai and everyone else bad news. My dad was unable to find a way to fix my inability to get into chat...

So, yeah...ummm, the G3 DVD definitely doesn't suck. :-)
I thought the opening menus were actually pretty cool...there were some neat photos there. There was a mistake as soon as the concert started, though...haha. The DVD's title is "Live In Denver" not "Live From Denver". Oh well, though.
Joe's red JS1200 is absolutely beautiful. I love it. I want one...and I don't even play guitar. Joe's new tone is awesome, as we all know (and as I mentioned during my G3 review)...
I loved the little "dance" Joe did during Satch Boogie's tapping section. Another cool moment was when he did the one finger slide during Midnight...watch it and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Starry Night was probably one of the main highlights of Joe's set, but I really do think the version they did in Los Angeles was better. Jeff is awesome on this one, and Joe's improv during the outro is really cool. The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing was another big highlight... I love the extra roll that Jeff added to the song a tour or two ago...it sounds great.
Looking at Joe's set as a whole, I wish Matt was much higher in the mix. One of the things that I like about LISF is that you can always hear Stu. Even when he's playing relatively simple stuff, you can still hear him...you know he's there. Anyway, other than Matt, I feel that Joe's mix was excellent.
I got a rushed/nervous feeling when I watched Joe's set. Did anyone else notice that? It's something that definitely isn't on LISF or the first G3 DVD...I don't know how else to describe it other than "rushed" or "nervous".
Steve's set was awesome. It was cool to see the look of disbelief on people's faces when he brought out the triple neck... Steve's improv here was good, but I think the improv he did in Los Angeles was better...
Steve's guitar tone during the first song (after his band joined him) reminded me of the video game F-Zero. LOL... Did anyone else notice that?
Billy's pants were AWESOME.
The lead exchanges throughout Steve's set were awesome...we've already talked about that, though...
I'm not an Yngwie fan, so I don't have much to say about his set.
Yngwie doesn't seem like he's "with" his band like Steve and Joe are. His band is VERY tight, but he's all over the place. He doesn't mix well with them.
During Baroque & Roll you can see all of Yngwie's drink cups on the side of the stage. I thought that was kinda funny...
Before the G3 jam started, I saw someone in the crowd with the same Aerosmith hat that I have (navy blue, with a logo scribbled on it in white)... This has nothing to do with anything, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
The jam rocked. I won't even try to describe it...everyone should just watch it. ;-)
All I can say is that Joe and Steve are so great together. They are both "one" with their guitar, but when they're both onstage together it really seems like they are "one" with each other. Does that make sense, without sounding too cheesy? They compliment each other perfectly. I'd love to see a three-hour "Joe and Steve" show someday...
Did I hear Matt play the riff from The Beatles' I Want You (She's So Heavy) at the end of Rockin' In The Free World?
The bonus features were sorta interesting, but I don't think they should have been called bonus features. Oh well, though...I bought the DVD for the music. :-)
Well, that's the DVD... I'll make a post about the CD as soon as I'm done listening to it.
...Austin...

greetings and i have a slight ponderment moving sideways through my head, and that is: are we ever going to see you, JS and band down here is Australia again? as i am a fellow player (JS1000bp to be exact {a present from my wife for my 30th last year}man, was i ever surprised), my listening pleasure of your music is shared with a 53 yr old biker who lives in the outback and is always at me to 'simply' send you a note saying he wants to see you live (as we all do!) but is this something to hang our hat on or are we saving for a trip to the USA? i told him we could 'simply' move to the USA to catch all your shows, but he said he really doesn't like planes. SO.....?

Why did they not make a DVD of the G3 tour with Petrucci, he is by far the best guest player they have ever had. I caught the show at Bass Performance Hall in July of '03 and I was blown away. I went out and updated my copy of Petrucci's "Rock Discipline" to see the clips of the G3 but I was always waiting for the actual concert, WHY DIDN'T THEY FILM IT? Just curious, and If anyone has a bootleg copy........

Zachary,
Feel free to quote this. You can even attach my email address if they really need to hear from an actual customer (please give them @yahoo.com though... I don't want any spam).
I just put the trem-bolt on. It took about 25 minutes, only 'cause I'm a little timid when it comes to drilling into my $2800 guitar. All I had to do was limp-loosen my strings to get the bridge out of the way. Screw the trem-bolt on, with one shim added. Tuned up. Hit a chord to check. Limp loosened not just the 1st string; but the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd... the I, V, and VIII tones of all chords were still perfectly in tune/intonated. You are definately on to something!
If you are looking for shops to sell those trem-bolts through, use me as a reference for any of the fine shops here in the greater Ft Worth area:
{Players Music/Longhorn Guitars (Howie), Earhart Electronics (Alan), Guitar Center Arlington (PJ, guitars)}.
They all know me by name, as I've been shopping with them since I moved to Ft. Worth in '86. Heck, I used to work with the manager of the G.C. guitar dept (PJ) back in the early nineties.
I'm sure you've gotten similar responses from everyone who's bought one of your ingenious devices, so I'll just close by saying that your workmanship and invention are astounding. Thanks for figuring out what no one else has seemed to be able to. Now I only have to lug multiple guitars to performances due to tonal preference, not string-break-a-phobia. Now I'm afraid my wife will catch on and have a fit 'cause I just bought a "much needed" back-up guitar... oops. Thanks again.
Best of luck,
Ft. Worth, TX.

engines of dreams: Opeth fuckin rock! When I saw them the first time in minneapolis, they were playing the damnation tour. Oh shit man, I was so soothed after the show. It was the most beautiful acoustic set I had ever seen. I needed this because I had just gone to Ozzfest. And that was a treat. Then less than two weeks back I saw them again in Minneapolis. DevilDriver and Moonspell opened but thats another story. They rocked...
Opeth started off with Masters Apperentice and ended with Demon of the Fall. I crowdsurfed during that song and I was like Howard Dean's YEAAAAHHHH! The other songs included Windowpane, Hope leaves, Moonlapse Vertigo, Deleiverance, The Moore and some other ones that rocked me out. Get their DVD. They rule. Damnation and Deliverance blow away any album by Vai or Yngwie. People who have not heard Opeth's Damnation or Deliverance should listen to it before they pound on me.
