ELPP - Man, sounds like a real cool job ;-) I must fall into the 20% at work then, lock up fever in windows 98 or 'wintendo' as our IT guy funnily called it, before disappearing rapidly, pisses me off day in day out, and nobody wants to fix it, well okay we did wipe the hard drive and start again but still it goes on......................... wait, where are you going ? What do you mean you got an appointment with the 80% of the company ? See what i mean ? Typical IT support guy - lmao ;-)
MOWLIE Happy 100 man, i've checked your IUMA too ;-)

PhryDom - I still can't get it to come up...hehe. I'm using http://www.talk2joe.com/htdocs/people.html and it just isn't working. ;-) Oh well.
Oh, okay... I read r6rocker's post now, and it works. Fix that link, Dave.
elpp - LOL... You get paid for doing a job that can be done with a sign that says "If something isn't working, restart your computer."...? ;-)

Hi everyone!
I'm listening to Turkey Man right now. :)
MY PROBLEM OF THE DAY: I've got compressor, overdrive/distortion, equalizer/phaser, noise supressor, delay, modulation, reverb, volume/wah/whammy pedal. Can anyone suggest some settings so that I can get a tone as close as possible to Joe's? I've tried and I'm closer than I was, but still too far...
Miguel Pais
MY IUMA
EDIT - By the way, what does a compressor do after all?

Clarky - my doctors are amazed at how well i am healing. back brace comes off thursday, 6 weeks earlier than thought. they thought i wouldn't be walking for 6 months, and here I am doing it now.... granted its more of a hobble, but still... anyway, thank you hun, glad to see you, and thanks to everyone else too....
962 - I'm working on it. I need to get up to his house first, which will take some time and some guts for me... I'll let you know, he never named it though...
Oh, and just so everyone knows.... I could have been mistaken when I looked at that pic that one of you lovely people posted. All I saw was Matt King, I didn't have the chance to scroll down to the bottom and see Justin with his new 370.... which is the same pic on the guitar-guitar.com website.
thanks guys!!!!

DARXMAC I'd say lmao but as i'm stuck on dial up here at the moment, it sucks real hard, downloads in hours not minutes, still we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for some kind of system.
ALLEYCAT Good progress ;-) That hobble will soon turn into a walk i'm sure, you must have a lot of fight in you. I had physio for a year after i smashed my leg up bad in a bike accident, so i've got a bit of an idea of what you're going through with regards to the hospital. I didn't know Justin but i knew of him, i was suprised how much his passing affected me, it was a black time in T2J land and certainly put a lot of other things into perspective for me. Hope your progress continues as quickly as it is going at the moment.
CUBE He could always steal your guitars !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! btw great link to pieTV this morning, that intermission picture with the 0 and X on the board is a piss take of the old BBC2 test card over here in the UK -very funny man ;-)

bsg i was just trawling through some of the old posts, and i *only just* saw that you replied (was the spelling error on purpose?!?!) to one of my anally pedantic needless nonsensical posts.... thank you, and sorry... everyone gets a little arsey sometimes....
archive quote note - <edited, but it's not me!> is trying to cheat on his post tally by talking nonsense :P :) - Mr Nick!!!! LMAO!!!!!!
/\/\ike (sorry, still in "archive mode"... how's that new job going?
Austin sorted, it was the link in the page, rather than the top bar... I missed it! Sorry!
miguel a compressor (when you've set its levels, thresholds, etc) will increase all your playing to those set levels, it's often used as an "overdrive to your overdrive" because it increases the level going into your distortion box, along with squashing it nicely into a smooth sound.... but beware that when you don't play, the compressor tries to increase the level of your "nothingness" to that same level, so you can get lost in a sea of hiss!!!!! The solution to that is either 1) turn off the compressor when you don't play, or 2) use a limiter / noise gate / any other kind of noise suppressor to shut down your signal when you don't play. There are more creative uses of (pedal) compressors too (mainly on clean sounds) where you can sound like Andy Summers or Alex Lifeson, etc (rack) compressors are entirely different animals)... maybe you could check Harmony Central for some ideas..... and as to your main question... if you want to sound like Joe (and why would you?!?!?!) get (at least) one of *everything* he has, and then kidnap him! LOL!!!!!!! Even if you plugged into Joe's rig I would bet my right nad that you'd still sound like you! Hope this helps you somewhat my friend. Take care.
dck don't get going me on the poor thing ROFL
Alexandria Justin and I "conversed" here once or twice, I always enjoyed his ever-increasing guitar collection that cost him nothing! :-) I'm glad you're getting there... take it easy...
Well it's kinda late and I'm kinda hungry, later everyone.... Dave

punkdude75 - I have the same question as MegaBoyd... How many of Petrucci's G3 songs are on this video? I've asked this question a million times on this site and no one seems to be able to tell me.

r6rocker: Yeah man, but it's not that much related to the T2J project. Main reason for lack of quotes is that I've been sleeping until the last possible moment to get out of bed and get to the shop leaving no time to get the book out and read. I'm gonna go to bed early tonight, maybe, well I'll try to, and hopefully I'll have some time in the morning.
