Wednesday night Billy Gibbons is on a show called Yes Dear. Barely caught the commercial, so check yer local listings to see when it's on.

Mari, yes, I got the email with the Vai photos. They were fantastic - as always. Sorry I didn't write back. I thought I mentioned it here on t2j but maybe I didn't. My apologies.

waterproof soap, how are ya JT?? Be a sweetheart and give that wayward sled jockey some talcum power with that burlap thong. He might just feel good enough to send out another message for you ;-)

Clarky, sounds like yer kid will have a nice kit when it's all said and done. Purple like Portnoy :-)

Slan, a baboon's ass doesn't even look good on a baboon! lol!

Soooo many birthdays this week!

Happy birthday Naty! and anyone else who I may have missed.

Finally caught up after scanning 14 pages. sheeesh!!

Stevee T: What do you need your recording rig to do? Protools is not necessary. My rig does 24bit96khz recording, I can record 8 inputs simultaneously, and my number of tracks is limited only by ram available. I've had close to 70 tracks open in real time with about 20 plus plugins running with out glitching. If you go with something like Cubase or some of the other programs, I think you can get what you need. I use Sonic Foundry Vegas, because I don't need midi functions yet. My whole set up cost me about $3000 minus speakers.

Suzie - It wouldn't load properly last night but I was checking out his website instead. I saw the bit about the eyes amazing...I know of another chap with pretty much the same kinda story...but he uses his cheeks in some way with the computer...it's so great that it can be done...imagine i dunno 30-50 years ago they would have just been stuck in a chair with nothing, so it is fantastic that people with ALs at least have this lifeline!

njbeast - OK now your just playin...so I'm not actually gonna hear the exact details of the night, but the set list sounds great, lots of my favourites on there...can you really play For the Love of God?....really

Gotta go to work

ANY MAC USERS OUT THERE please help! Which program/s do you use for printing onto stickers for CD shapes, also CD covers / inlay etc? We have one called DiscLabel 3 Neato Edition" which is pretty good but I have a problem that I would appreciate some advice about.

I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd ask!

Guitarmiester - Hi. The DT gig went on sale right after I moved into my new apartment, and I didn't yet have internet access. I didn't get tickets right away, so I'm up in the third balcony. I'm in the third row up there, though, and I'm dead center...so it'll be good. And it'll be on CD and DVD anyway, so I can get all up close and personal then. ;-)

summersong 05 - Tour dates will be posted in the Road section when they're official. If you want to get an idea of the types of places Joe might play, you can look at the 2004 ITLIS? tour dates in the archives.
962 - "Austin, dude I'm sorry if this comes across as kind of out of line or offensive or whatever, but it sounds like this girl doesn't deserve to still have contact with you."

There's no need to apologize...I completely agree with you. I know I haven't told you everything (for the sake of everyone here) and you haven't heard her side of things, but you seem to have a basic understanding of it all already.

I'd like to be friends with her again (there were so many awesome things that we had, just as friends), but I'm done trying. If she changes her mind some day and wants that too, great...but I'm not going to wait around. Each day that passes just means she'd have to work harder for my friendship, but I'm not expecting her to ever do anything. Oh well.

And, since it's good to look at things like this with a sense of humor every now and then...

She doesn't like Rush. Not at all. I've exposed her to all eras of the band...Moving Pictures...Grace Under Pressure...Counterparts. And? Nothing. So there's obviously no way this could have worked in the long run. ;-)

Satriella - LOL... There are some regulars here who go to twice as many shows per tour as I do and have been fans for twice as long...so they're easily up around 50 shows or so.

I'm pretty critical of the way Joe goes about touring, but at the same time I know I'm lucky for having so many chances to see him.

For example... I'm a huge Aerosmith fan, and I'm seeing them in Anaheim next month. This will be my first time seeing them in 3 1/2 years (to be fair, I missed a tour they did in 2003...but they completely skipped California in 2004). In the time that has passed since my last Aerosmith show, I've seen Satch seven times.

I can't complain... ;-)

ovation1 - I thought of another band to add to your CD Universe list: Shinedown. Have you heard of them? I saw them open for Van Halen back in 2004...they blew me away. I saw them in concert again this past October, just after they released their second album. They blew me away again. :-)

They have SO much energy. Their music is straight-ahead rock 'n' roll. There's nothing too fancy about them...they're simply very good. :-) I'd start with their second album, Us and Them. The sound clips there aren't really representative of the band as a whole, as they tend to focus on the melodic choruses and not the riffs/solos...but give them a listen (try Save Me, Yer Majesty, and Fake) and let me know what you think.

gotta have Joe - I'd say it's more of a coincidence than anything else. In the US, CDs are always released on Tuesdays...so you actually don't have many dates to choose between, if you wanted to base it off of the numbers.

...Austin...

Slansh - yo bro.. how's things...

are you currently writting a new album yet?

Satriella - I've been mega busy at work... and also I'm prepping for a tour so something has to give...

as much as I love hanging out in here.... it's one of the first pleasures to to get the boot when life gets tough...

how far behind was I?.. I think I last posted in very early Jan...
my ears were burning actually... and when I decoded it, it said somethnig like " blah blah.. yeah that Clarky... blah blah... yeah.. and he's smelly and his mum sends him to work in silly clothes.."

sound proofing - right now I don't know what I'll use.. it'll obviously be the best trade-off between effectiveness, cost and space... my studio is not that big.. so fitting a kit in there will be tight at best.. if I were to sound-proof properly and float a room inside a room, then the studio would be way too small.. and it'd cost a small fortune.. I'm thinking of either some sound absorbant tiles or making a plasterboard inner wall 2" from the outer one [and the same for the ceiling] with some sound absorbant crap filling the gap...
really though, I'll need to read up on it first..

hmm Suffolk... so.. I'm gigging with David Cross in late March in the UK.. Camden, London and Milton Keynes would be the one's closest to where you live....

coming?? I'll even buy you a beer... lol..

Suzie - would you and Matt be able to come to the DC gig in London??

then I'll finally be able to meet you guys....

Mikey - our spring Japan tour hass be postponed to the fall..
cos the singer's girlie is scheduled to drop a sprog around early April...
SteveeT - how's things bro... it's been a long time since we had a chit chat...
Michelle - the one I saw look really nice.... it's like a metallic wine colour.... more reddish than purple... very pretty...
