Too many posts, so little time..................

Austin I know what you mean about the 1:1 copied CD thing but apply the 'pyramid' mentality to that and you *could* still end up with the same effect, it just isn't so readily apparent. You know one person copies for friend, friend copies for 2 others. I don't and haven't done downloads and very rarely copy CDs for other people. One of the situations where I do copy is if I know that people wouldn't be buying it anyway. I also see that as probably accounting for a lot of filesharing downloads as well. People will download something if it is free that they wouldn't actually pay for. Overall I'm against it, it has its uses but I think it is abused more and it is theft, plain and simple. Responsible users can rest easy with their own actions but actually putting something on line to be shared in the majority of cases is inexcuseable.

Clarky Hey man, I've got finesse.............. sometimes I'll wrap a towel around the pick axe handle, just to show my compassionate side...... lol ;-)

Yoda rofl @ the 0.007 comment..... :-)

Artanis I lol Ben. I loved the Blood Hound Gangs first album................. and then I'd my little cooky dance sick shit and funny with it ;-)

Kirsch LTE2 is a cracking album, but Tony Levin could have been higher in the mix on some tracks.

Okay guys, another week gone.......... I'll be checking back in on Tuesday........... have a good weekend......... and for those that are interested I pick my bike up on Monday - Hell Yeah !!!!!

RR r.i.p.................... a touch of genius, sadly missed.

Hey there, Been registered a few days but this is my first post, so I hope everyone is doing well and nice to talk to you. Oh yeah, the username doesn't reflect any ego or anything, for 'big' read 'fat'!

There was actually a point to posting this though...

A query, really. For those of you who can play 'Midnight' (Surfing With The Alien album), do any of you have the same problems with background noise on the opening section from pull-off noises? I read on a tab that trying muting helps, but how do you go about muting when you're doing that kind of tapping lick? If Joe is here, maybe the man himself could give me some advice?

To anyone who can answer that, many thanks in advance, as it would be a great help!

Also if Joe is reading, thanks for 'Tears In The Rain' (long time ago I know) as it is the only really gentle song that I like where I can still play it reasonably well on my cumbersome big bad acoustic with an action high enough for people to climb through it! Electric is good, but going acoustic always makes you feel better for it afterwards, like you've made more of an effort! Anyone else feel that way?

Looking forward to catching the G3 tour in Newcastle in June, should be great! Does anyone know if there are any plans for a solo tour as well with the new album coming out, maybe one that could involve Europe as well? Or is that just pushing it to hope Joe will do a G3, go back the States, tour there and then come all the way back again just a few months later? Would be understandable as it might not be very practical, but looking forward to June anyway!

Take care everyone and thanks again, Steven.

Big Steven - Whoa man good taste. A couple of my favourites too. Try playing midnight with little distortion. The notes don't come out as good but the background noise is minimised a lot. Also try kepping your fingers over the notes after playing them. This will also prevent the noise. Hope this helps. Most say, Tears In The Rain was the first Satch song that i could play. Want an acoustic. ;-)

Tears In The Rain for G3 Glasgow.

Sargent T - Nice one on with the guitar. I've got an Ibanez (not a Js, yet) and it's sweet. It's something like a GRX-70 or something like that. I have a very primitve guitar compared to yours, lol. So what kind of music does your band play?

SOTD: All About Eve (great piece of music; one of the best Vai's song)

ok..so i'm not home yet..

clarky....you emailed the theory stuff to me sometime ago...so it'll be on the computer at home. i was going to print it off...but its alot of pages. i did read thru them as you put them up on here..i would probably understand most of it..but i'll go through it again..and i'll get back to you. the teaching stuff...i feel confident enough...just as though i sell myself correctly...i know the guy in the music store..and he can tell people who are beginners looking for a private tutor..he knows me quite well. say that i'm a rock person/player..not a classical player..or jazz player or irish dance player..or century old mexican kind of flameco stuff.

....Round 2 was great, and it is getting tougher....

It is sad that alot of great songs have to be eliminated, and this is an example.... Love Thing vs. Until We Say Goodbye.... Damn!!.... AWMAWY got another easy round, and I find myself picking the classics now over some of the newer stuff.... Only cause it deserves it!! ;-).... I hate to say it now, but I think AWMAWY will win it all.... Unless CRATS does exactly just that!! ;-)

....Nite all....
