Do The Stu: so you are an Aerosmith fan? I didn't hear of them for a while. This will sound stupid: are they still working? Anyway, they are good, especially on concerts.

michelle: you don't remember any of frmale singers? Well, you should listen Blackmore's Night. Candice Night has a really soft voice.

SOTD: Whispering a prayer(Steeve Vai)

this one if for jeff- in the past you used what looked to be a china cymbal with either a hi-hat or small cymbal piggy-backing on top of it. what cymbals did you use? i liked that sound and would like to try it. thanks!

wow, that double whammy jem sure looks cool....but, I can't think of hardly any situations that you would use it...must be why steve doesn't use it too much, only limited instances where it would be needed....

someone asked if Joe would teach again.....I seriously doubt it....maybe only if he decided to quit touring and his recording contracts run out and he gets really bored he might...just to have something to do......lol...

you know, Joe used to do a monthly thing in a magazine...which later became the book "Guitar Secrets"... what would really be cool would be if Joe were to start doing that here on his site....but not the over the top stuff to start with....start right at the beginning for us beginning string whackers ...lol..... now that would be really cool.....

webmaster are you paying attention here? lol.... hey seriously check out the website riff interactive and see how they do it and then spring it on Joe :o) it could actually become another source of income ...granted maybe not a whole lot of money, but at least you could get something out of it...

mick87: Thank's for reminding me about the AT200!!.... It'll be great to know Andy is finally getting the respect he deserves!! lol, and it would be kuul if JOE, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Andy Timmons and George Lynch got up and had a power jam!!.... Man, imagine that!! ;-)

Do The Stu: hehe, I do remember that one and it was strange, lol, I was'nt one of the ones who got it though, damn!! ;-).... What a weird one that was, lol....

Narface: lol man, that extra bar must cause havoc while playing!!.... hehe, only Dr. VAI could use that, lol....

962: I remember reading that VAI quote somewhere, lol, it was kind of a challenge, and I even think it was printed inside one of his album covers.... Thank's for telling us how Eric's set went down, lol, in the little part he was on the dvd it looked like he was having fun.... btw, I'll watch the dvd again tonite and look out for ya.... You better have been causing a rucus, lol, if I was in the front row, Steve would know me!! ;-)

Hey there :)

Just wanted to post a comment on how hard it is to make it as an instumentalist.

Joe, i would like to say that you and your G3 is helping a lot to guitar soloist's like me to get people into the concerts.

I've alway's been a BIG fan of you and really love it when your playing gives me goose-bumps :)

Anyway, just wanted to say that you are an inspiration and thanks for your music.

Steven Fernandez.

top 5 singers (not numbered cause itz hard to choose the best one ... also, itz possible i forgot about someone):
- Tomi
- Jewel
- Metallica's singer (sooorrry, forgot the name, enlighten me?)
- Mariah Carey (back in the early days)
- Axl Rose

Joe is definitely not anywhere near top five. im sorry guys (and Joe), but singing is really not his virtue. i say shut up and play. :)

here's another "poll" for you guys ... the best guitarist + the best singer (so the best TWO-in-ONE package).

fer mey, thatz definitely Gary Moore
Gary Moore for G3!

yall have fun!

I don't have any favorite signers, call it blaspmephy, but I never like Rober Plant's voice, it was always annoying to me as a kid, I'd probbaly listen to more Zep if he wasn't the signer. I'd say Freddy Mercury was pretty good, and that guy who sanged "Don't Worry" He did some strange things with his voice.

I read a Satriani interview, and quote, I've been calling Eddie Van Halen and Jeff Beck for many years consistently trying to get them to come out. I've asked Kirk Hammett, from Metallica

Would Kirt really be up for it? I think he's still treated like a hired gun, he has discused making a instrumental album I think, i'd rather see him do that seeing how St Anger came about. The problems I have with Kirt is...

1. Only ever use the minor pentatonic scale2. Every so often to switch to the minor blues scale 2. Every so often to switch to the minor blues scale 3. Play sloppy 4. Pick the worst ever notes so the solo will lack any melodic content 5. Should overuse the wah as much as he can 6: Uses bad Vibrato.

R6Rocker: Yeah ... It's not easy to write tunes. It's way more important to be able to create a great tune with lots of melody and direction, than be a fantastic wanker. Don't get me wrong, I love wanking just like everyone else, but the song is everything. As far as non musicians go; if you can write impressive and catchy leads in your great tune, then they love the whole package. I hope to be able to do this someday.

Slanshroom/Roy: No problem. Once you are in the position of being able to work with your own personal system, you'll be amazed at the options you're given.

OCP: I hear great things about using a compound radius. I don't personally have one, but some folks really like them.

WARNING: The following is about Hockey, not music.

I have to give huge props for our man Brian Boucher (goalie for the Phoenix Coyotes). He broke the record for longest shut-out streak (325mins, 45 secs without being scored on). He's stopped 130 shots in the last five games, giving the 'yotes a five game shut-out streak. That kicks ass!

laters....

Great sait My first visit. Have been listening to you for several years. I saw you once in my hometown (around 1985 I think) together with Jonas Hellborg. It was in Eskilstuna Sweden. I also love the tunes of Stuart Hamm, but why does the audience hate him as one can hear at your dubbel CD (or DVD) from 2001: I recon he must have done some bad things, or what?

I'm listening to Joe's self titled cd again. This has the be THEE all time coolest, most bad-ass cd ever made!! The first 5 songs totally kick my ass every single time I hear them, then Look My Way snaps me out of it, only for Home to throw me right back in the satch trance. This cd would absolutely be my 'stuck on a desert island' cd.

Hey, first things first, ...all respect!!!! The thing I wanted to say was that there's no way of choosing more than one instrument in the personal options page. I play bass, guitar, and drums( granted not at the same time), and live to record that... alone. Although being a "jack of all trades" usually means "a master of none" . What is a master anyway? I am certainly not. Even Joe seems humble and not likely vain about his gift. Since the gifted are receiving gifts they are humbled to give it back (mostly) it seems a moot point. I would just like to listen and enjoy more music that really moves me. How rare that Joe's music says so much without words. Maybe the answer is to just pick one that moves you most. Although to me its stiffled. ...Thanks for a voice.

I finally saw LOTR-ROTK. PJ made a great job. He changed story a little, bu it's still the spirit of Tolkien in that film. For all who liked that movie: you should read a book. And if you will like it, you should read The Silmarillion too!
